Now you got the chance.

I was scrolling through some ads at a swedish C2C site, when I suddenly came across THIS. A 1996 Super Touring TWR Volvo 850. The last one built before they switched to the S40 in 1997. It has never raced, but has only been used at events for promotion, and it's therefore in top condition. It IS race ready though, so I suppose you can take it for a spin at a track.

Price tag: 399,900 SEK (€44747) ($59,289)

In the ad, click "Alla bilder" at the lower right corner of the big pic to see all pictures.

There's something quite... fake looking... about it. Is it BTCC spec or STCC spec?

I love 850s. And I especially love the BTCC 850s. #9 1995 BTCC - Tim Harvey's final win

The car would be worth owning just for the noise if the engine is original.

Video title is wrong. It's 1995.

I have no idea. What's the difference?

Not much, but it would be interesting to know

I think it looks quite genuine to be honest.

Clearly it's an 850. But because it never raced it looks like a prototype. The body panels on the rear 3/4 look much bulkier and less refined than other 850 tourers I have seen.

But an 850 is an 850. Do I have ~£41,000 to spare? Sadly not!
