You Tube now supports 1080p, So can we upload GT5 replays in 1080p?

1080p compressed is awful.
The 1080p video above on youtube is only 854 x 480 resolution...and it's only 30 FPS.

Its still badly compressed.
You see a lot of pixelation and colors switching (dont know how its called, hope you know what i mean) after fast camera changes.

I'm not saying it's perfect, just helping people to watch it ;)

I have been "dumbing down" my 1080 vids to 30fps as I knew youtube would only show 30fps not 60fps no point spending twice as long uploading if it comes out at half the quality.

Tomorrow I will upload a vid at 1080p at 60fps and then give a download link to the file I have uploaded and the difference is massive, but surely we cannot expect youtube to show video's that come in at 100meg a minute? The ISP's would be crying for sure?

NOTE*** just noticed that when I look at the raw file that my capture device is capturing the footage at 30fps and not 60fps for the replays......

I was mentioning the later video, the one you show the 80mb one is full HD yes. 1920x1080, my netbook only plays it at 23fps though so its far from smooth compared to ps3 replay.

ok just to add some more confusion! Not sure if youtube UK and Youtube USA are different, if I upload a video in 1080p then there is no choice to watch in 720 or 1080 unlike the other video on this thread, even with the &fmt=37 on the end.

Anyway below is an example of the difference of the original file quality and the youtube quality.

Below is the link to the original file

And below is the youtube video, I uploaded the same file to youtube that is available on the download link.

(the video is new to youtube so may not appear below if not then click the below link

I think we should try watching the 1080p youtube videos on our PS3's. See if the framerate is any better?

Kind of off topic but did anyone notice that the car shadow on the track is missing at 2:08 and then magicaly reapears at 2:10 or so? Is that a bug in GT5P that everybody already knows about or did I actually find something new?:nervous:

Why would it be a bug? a shadow can appear and reappear at many times for unknown reasons, you cant see what is off camera to cause the shadow or lack of it. But as it happens in the video you can see what causes it because you can see the tree line shadow on the track at the same time the car shadow appears. Although off hand i cant think what the cause and effect is for it not being there/being there.
What it might highlight is a like of variations of brightness/sunlight. As it may have been in a general diffused light position before then entered a position where it was in a direct beam of sunlight hence the tree shadow and the car shadow, but on screen it looks the same sunny light as before.
Someone probably knows.

The way it just apeared does not look right. There was nothing to stop the shadow from being there around the entire corner. The tree shadows had nothing to do with anything, the car was 10 feet away from those shadows and the car never passed through them!

True, it's confusing.
It does it at 1:56 too.

Added another small vid, but I dont understand with the other video you can choose to watch in 720p or 1080p but on mine I cant?

Why would it be a bug?
It could just be that the game is only a demo.

If you really look close the game is full of these faults.

This is called "pop-up".
It happens, always at the same places, nothing to worry about.

Youtube, whom I love, still compresses vids way too much. I think most of their HD vids now look subpar.

It would be cool if you could just upload the replay numbers (01010101010) at say, Sony's server farms, and then those servers will create the replay automatically in 1080p and host those vids.

Tell me about it, the latest video I have uploaded below, when played on youtube is played at 3mbps.

This is a 17meg file, yet the file I have uploaded is a 103meg file so it is effectively compressed 6 times from the raw file.

I would never expect them to be uncompressed but 3mbps is on the low side, I would be happy if I could upload a 720p video and have that play at around 6-7 Mbps. Instead of a 1080 at 3mpbs is I am honest but there is just no choice.

I think EA have in a sense got it right with Fight Night round 4 where you can directly upload a replay and then watch it and share it online instead of having to pay out £100's on video capture hardware. It is not great what they offer but at least it is free.

The shadow isn't completely gone, it's probably that at a distance a different (cheaper) type of shadow technique is used from when up close and your seeing the switch between them. As G.T.Ace said, it's like the popping you see in some games when objects or scenery change to a different level of detail.
I hope that's improved as it does look a bit ugly.

I would love his ability(already confirmed) but unless they have something fancy that makes it quicker or better quality, like others have said EA's video upload is great so something like that would be great! If not then i would rather save to hdd and then upload myself...

I was wondering, when YouTube goes 3D (should happen soon with all the big brands bringing out 3DTV's) will we be able to upload GT5 replay videos in 3D? (Provided you have the 3D version of GT5)
