Let's face it.. Probably all of us have met that one guy online that we don't like, maybe he has a grudge with you over something stupid, and as a result when he sees your car he goes absolutely AWOL trying to punt it, and you need to put him in his place, perhaps you juked him, or slyly wrecked him. Or even the one 🤬 AI car who punts you in the back on a good run and screws up your race, so as a result the next time around you decide to put him in the weeds. I have my own stories, believe me I've run several AI cars over the berm by the Start/finish straight on Trial Mountain, and I have the one story about my dealings with that Viper at Daytona in the worst you've dealt with thread, so let's hear yours.

Clarifier- this is not a thread for those who ram people off the road intentionally and pick fights to gloat

Winning is the best revenge, especially when you know how to pass on the outside.

... at Monaco...
...and Seca...
...and Fuji..

...you get the idea.

My best bit of payback...I was in a room beating these group of players at an x1 time trial room. I managed to smash through every single set time. it was comical and fun, until I got the trash mail, claiming that I was using hacks and turning bots and speed glitches, the whole nine yards.I defended my claim that I was definitely not using hacks but he wouldn't listen to reason. He started to threaten that he would hack my psn and kill my family yada yada yada. he got banned eventually and the crybaby got what he deserved. (this 'crybaby' sounded 16-18 years old. it is extremely alarming that grownups like these would react so violently towards defeat.)

The one and only time I have ever punted on purpose.

It was in GT5P during a 12 car race over 10 laps around Fuji F back in the day.

I got punted into a spin at the last corner of the first lap and was last.

I lost count of the number of times I was hit and was ready to quit but I continued to cross the start/finish line to check the gap to the leader. I then did another lap and checked the gap again. It had come down enough for me to catch the leader, so I kept going.

Each and every single car I passed tried to punt me out of the race. That's 11 other drivers. :grumpy:

Anyway I made my way up to 3rd place and as I catch up to the two leaders on the esses leading to the final corner, I noticed that they punted each other and they both ghosted out. The 2nd place runner was very slow but even though he was ghosted he still tried to punt me. Marvellous. :grumpy:

I catch the leader at the final corner and slipstreamed past him. As I did this he side swiped me with such violence that the game recognised what he was doing and ghosted him out.

I checked my rear view as I approached the first turn and noticed that he was right behind me. I stayed out wide and gave him the inside line to pass legitimately if he wanted to.

He did not even try. Again the game recognised what he was doing and ghosted him as he sailed straight through my car and did not slow down at all, but took to the run of tarmac. I HATE RUN OFF TARMAC. :yuck:

I caught up to him again as we ran up to the chicane and I decided it was time to teach him a lesson in punting. This from someone who has never punted anyone so doesn't actually know anything about it :dunce:

I lined up my left front with his right rear and braked early, then got off the brakes and as he braked, I rolled up to him and hit him just as he started to turned in for the chicane and knocked him sideways to slide into the wall at the outside of the chicane. It was beautiful and cost him all of his momentum.

My satisfaction at a truly well executed move was tempered by the knowledge that I had sunk to his level to do it.

I will usually mention something after a race and if the other person seems contrite I just let it go. We don't all have the same control over our cars or the same skill level. I like to start a race or two at the back on purpose and watch everyone make it through the first couple of corners and see what happens and often I'll just leave after a few corners if it's a crashfest. I prefer rooms that allow "fastest first" qualifying because you can usually get out ahead of the majority of carnage.

But I'm not a saint either(sorry Brandon..:nervous:) I admit that over the months I've taken a few people out on purpose after repeated contact, but usually only after mentioning it in the room after a race and getting a snotty attitude or ignored. Usually I just leave though...👍
