Your Closest Finish

Since I just got my closest finish since I've played GT3, I got curious about what your closest finishes are.
I apologize if this has been done before, then again... what hasn't been done before here?
Anyways, my closest finish was with my fully tuned Mini Cooper, in Apricot Hill, level "Hard". (5 laps)
After passing an R33 Skyline for the lead at the beginning of the second lap I pretty much dominated the whole thing keeping a steady 3-4 sec margin between me and the R33, however at the chicane on the last lap, I had a little S.N.A.F.U and went off the track, took me a while to develop the speed again, by the time I finally did get up to speed the R33 was right beside me, not passing, not being passed, just right beside me, we went down the front stretch like that the whole way towards the finish line, I kept a close eye on my position, 1st... 2nd... 1st... 2nd, after crossing the finish line it read 1st, +0:00.002 the gap between me and the R33. Now, I'm not ready to attribute the win only on the modest power the Mini could develop, I'm not sure if a CLK that crept up behind me gave me the smallest of nudges to cross the line first.
So there you have it. I obviously saved the replay, only problem is I gotta sit by almost 8 min of me cruising around to see the last stretch, but it's worth it I guess. :cool:
 
i got a .005 before with my s2000 against whatever runs the fastest in the fr pro challenge... i made a mistake on the very last corner on midfiled two... the pressure was getting to me... almost didnt make it..
 
ive had a couple .002's on gt1 when i was at my sis's for the last 3 weeks and on gt3 i had i think .094 as closest usually if i lost its because i spin when i cant quite make up the time like if the finish line were .1 miles farther i would win but nooooo gotta have it right there
 
I had a win of around 0.003 at Tokyo in GT Concept in the LM Spec RX-8. I got shunted off at the first corner, and decided to stick with the race, despite my initial reflex to re-start. I got the whole field pretty easily except for one JGTC Supra (forget which) - I was quite a way behind him coming out of the last corner onto the main straight, but I picked up a draft and it was just enough to see me pass him on the line. It was so close I didn't know who'd won until the timing came up.
 
i have had a 0.001 when me and my friend were racing at test course. I drafted him on last turn :)

Whoa! That's crazy!

How'd the points work out? Did you both get 10 points for that? Or if it was a single race, did you get the money?

My closest was .004 at the test course.
 
I have seen it all now, 0:00.000 that is some wacky stuff. :eek:
What track was that at? Can't tell from the pic, you can see a clear reflection of daan taking the pic though. :lol: :D
Sucks that you got second place though. GT3 is one of those games that the player will be the second (inferior) one in case of a tie. :irked:

Nope :( I was 2nd.

It's the same in a series championship. If you and an AI get the same points, then they win. :banghead:

Kinda like in the license tests. If you tie the gold time, you get silver.
 
But I guess that's where the .0000 comes in...I think the license times are set for that, and if you get 0001 (not visible) you fail it...:|
For those tied races it'd be good if they had a "side-by-side" camera on the line to watch in slow motion...:)

Hmmmm, I had a couple of those.

It was the Type-R Challenge, in Beginner - me in a Spoon CT-R and second place in the NSX Type-R. We were at Tokyo Reverse.

I'll post a pic as soon as possible to show you. :cool:
 
.001 at Laguna Seca, unfortunately I lost it along with the series. I wanted to cry.
 
i see that you dont save very often(neither do i)

whoever posted the pics were those edited because u put... still running... next to 3rd place car and i also see their are pine trees in your yard and you have a strong light behind the tv
 
daan posted the screens in the wrong order - the second screen is the one that pops up on-track after the race - hence the 3rd place car was still running. By the time he took the photo and exited, the 3rd place car had finished - some 40s down the road...

The bright light is probably the camera flash and the thing behind him looks like a poster... I've seen daan's PS2 room and I doubt much natural light comes in that way... :D

Had a close finish in a 2 player race with Prancing Horse a couple of times, most notably in a Tickford Falcon@R246, will dig up the replay and post the gap (he won :irked: )
 
Heres my closest finish, it says -0.00.181 for those who cant see... sorry for the Crap Quality pic..I need a new cam, Creative SUX...im going to try out logitech

I won against the Lister Storm Race Car by .001 seconds in my Dodge Viper GTSR Concept on the test course.
 
I'm not sure how close my races were. License tests were completly different though.

(Test Number, Gold Required Time, My Time)

B3, 0'31.100, 0'31.102
A2, 0'26.000, 0'31.002
A6, 0'27.000, 0'27.001 (I then beat it with a 26.875)
IA7, 0'46.000, 0'46.001
