In my high school, one state fitness requirement is to run a mile.

Here's my mile:

13 yrs old, 9th grade
I did my mile in 8 minutes, 20 seconds.
I weigh ~170 lb (77kg)
I am 5 ft 4 in
My BMI is ~28, so officially, "The Man" thinks I'm overweight.

My time was 5th overall for 9th grade, something I wouldn't expect given how fit the opposition was:

Top 5
1. 5:34- xxxxx, baseball player, 125 lb
2. 8:00- xxxxx, 145 lb
3. 8:00.55- xxxxxx, 115 lb
4. 8:14- xxxxx, 130 lb
5. 8:20- Me, 170 lb

And the slowest 5 in my school:
137. 11:05- 95 lb *never ran
138. 14:21- 2xx lb
139. 14:30- 135 lb *under influence of drugs
140. 30:18- 100 lb *Talking+walking w/ friend
141. 30:18- 134 lb *Talking w/ #140

What's your fastest running mile/kilometer?

If you feel comfortable sharing your weight/BMI/ect., then copy+paste this and fill it out:

___ yrs old, (SCHOOL YEAR IF RELEVANT)
I did my mile in __min, ___sec
I weigh ___lb/kg
I am __ft __in (or meters if units vary)
My BMI is ___

Tell me, what drugs was No. 139 under? Either he was on weed which meant that he thought every step was a mile long, or he took some drugs to make him completely spaced out and look at the sky all the time....

This^
Annoyingly, we have a prominent weed problem, and it's abnormally plentiful:nervous:

My school requires it too, in the limit of 20 minutes...it's easy to walk it but you're forced to if you play in a sport or something.

I'm 15, I did my mile in 5:45
I weigh 174, I am 6'4"
My BMI is 21.2

I'm proud of it. :D

According to my running app, my fastest mile is 7:50. I'm 35 and weigh 88kg/194 lbs. Note: I don't run for speed, but for burning fat.

Last year, when I was 13, I did it in 6:47 iirc. That's 8th grade.
That was right after cross country was finished so I was extremely fit.
Now I way 110 lbs, but that's was probably when I was 100.
~5 feet tall at that point in time.
Doubt I could reachieve that now that GT5 is out. :p

Fastest kilometer: 03:47
Fastest mile: 07:08

14 yrs old, in 9th Grade (well, technically IGCSE year 1)
I did my mile in 7 min, 23 sec (give or take 3 seconds :P )
I weigh 68 kg
I am 182 cm
My BMI is 20.5

Use to run quite alot when I was young even went to Nationals. Didn't like track as much but LOVED cross-country.

At 11 yrs ran 4mins 58secs for 1500m and lost by a metre to a guy ranked third in country.

At 12 ran 41mins 42secs for 10.6km

Pretty much lost interest from about 13/14... the more motivated who trained caught up to me... up until then I'd kick harriers butts. Pity I didn't find a coach who could motivate me...

Now? I normally run once a year in one specific event. Two years ago ran 5km in 22mins 09secs, but last year that became 26mins 11secs with sore foot...

The last time I did a timed 9 minute run in school (17 years ago, mind you) I clocked in 15 laps on a track where 8 laps is a mile. So my maths tell me that that is a 4m48s mile. Don't ask me how I managed that as I guarantee I couldn't do it in double that time now.

16 yrs old, 10th grade
I did my mile in 4min, 48sec
I weighed 145lb
I was 5ft 7in
My BMI is no longer relevant

I'm like TB, I used to be fast.

I ran a lot of track in cross country in high school, but I was always more of a distance rather than speed guy.

My fastest mile also occurred in 10th grade at the ripe age of 16. I ran it in 4min 55sec (by comparison, we had kids on our team who consistantly broke 4:30, I don't think I would have been as fast without them pushing me). My fastest 5k was 17min 30sec at my peak...I'd be lucky to break 20 these days.

I only broke 5 minutes one more time in my life after that in 11th grade. Senior year I shattered my ankle playing hockey and took the year off...haven't run much in the 7 years since lol.

I was pretty puny at the time, my estimation would be 5'6, 125 lbs.

Now I'm sitting at an enormous 5'8 150 lbs.

Christ, that fast at 11 and you quit?! You could have probably competed at a very high national level if you had stuck with it...but yeah running got old to me too around 17 or so, so I see where you're coming from.

Still...damn, that's quite a gift to be so fast at such a young age, most people will never break 5min even with lots of training.

Max, it was only a metric mile, 1500m, not full 1609m true mile.

Yeah really loved running when I was young, couldn't sprint but I could run quickly for a long period. I ran for fun, I loved turning myself inside out to the point of puking, hell I was kinda sadistic on myself, in that more it hurt the more I liked it. As I knew I was pushing myself although no-one else was. But there comes a time where natural ability is no longer enough, that was my intermediate school years (11 & 12) that the transition happened.

Up until this point I creamed the school 'harriers' (training groups), at the end of these years they were nipping on my heels, it was now apparent training km's after km's was needed to keep the status quo (as I saw it). Without a coach/mentor motivation wasn't there to keep it going.

This came abundantly clear at Nationals at 12. I had qualified for the 800m by winning the event for my school a month earlier, my second in the 1500m mentioned above didn't qual me, despite it being my better event. When the gun went off for the 800m Nationals race, I milst well have just said "where the hell did they go???".

My last race I put any effort into was my first year in High School cross country event where competing was mandatory. In my 3rd form year I came 12th overall, against 1250 other boys from Form 3 to Form 7 (year 9 to 13?), on was pretty tough course over 4 laps, total distance would've been 8---10km. LOVED cross country.

14 or 15 yrs old (9th or 10th)
I did my mile in 10min, 15sec
I weigh 130lb (Back then)
I am 5ft 9in (Back then)

Never cared enough to actually try. Why should I spend a few minutes on some random day running 4 laps around the track? Every year I got Presidential for at least one of the other categories we tested, so that was enough for me.

Never done a timed mile run as I live here I'm Canada but grade 9 (6 years ago) I finished a 2400 meter fitness test in 9 mins 35 sec.

I'm currently a sophomore who joined my high school's cross country team. I just did a 3 mile race and as it was my first time, I bombed it with 25:33. Mind you the course ain't flat ground. It was two tall hills, two loops and my failure. My school did win nationals last year, making us reigning champs but all the good people were seniors back then and now we are trying hard.

I am 13 years old (turning 14 in February), did my fastest time this year, mostly because I am running more now and getting a lower and lower time. This year in October I ran 7:48. I am about 5 feet tall and around 100 pounds.:) I am also playing basketball, and typing this before I get ready for a game!

15years old
mile in roughly 7.5mins (Based on my time for 2.5 miles.)
I weigh 60kg
I'm 165cm tall
BMI = 21.5 (normal)

I don't particularly enjoy running, my muscles in my back and legs are quite tight so tend to hurt easily. If I have a choice of excercise it will be squash or biking, never running. However in our schools (kinda) sports day I always get picked by our class to do the long distance (1000m)runs as I used to be good at them in primary school.

One thing that really annoyed me at primary school was that every year we had compulsory cross country (about 1.5miles), In my last year I managed to qualify for the finals for our area (about 7 schools), I ran that and came second in our school, I was amazed that I had done that well. This also should have meant that the school should have picked me for our county event. However instead they picked the person who beat me (fair enough) and the person who finished behind me (I have video evidence of that), because he had always qualified in previous years, so even though I beat him they still picked him on teachers preference. Something that still slightly pisses me off even to this day. I'm fine about loosing fairly, however I hate loosing if I think that I could have had a chance at doing better.

In september I'll have a go at my first marathon :scared:

I haven't run a timed mile since I was in 8th grade. I played soccer from age 5 to age 13 as a center-mid so I was no stranger to running all over the pitch. It's too bad I couldn't kick straight to save my life. I was also one of those kids who played outside every day with many games of tag, etc.

So at age 14, about 5'5" and 120lbs my quickest mile was about 6:19. BMI those days was an even 20.

I went on to be a swimmer and water polo player in high school so I sort of kissed running goodbye. I'm starting to run more on treadmills nowadays, I'll have to check back in on this thread in a couple months. Maybe I can get my girlfriend to time me running the track at the local high school.

Apparently, I improved since my last post, fastest one mile is now 7:21. Note this was timed during a 5 mile run, at an average pace of 8'01"/mile. I think I can do a lot faster if I run just the one mile. ;)

Fastest mile: 5:30
2 miles: 11:28
3 miles: 20:xx forgot
Height: 5'4
Weight: 145

I do a lot of cardio(run, bike, swim) for fun. I run so much that my feet are almost immune to pain unless I deliberately kick something really hard. I was in the Cross Country team and Track & Field team in high school. My BMI reading wasn't accurate because, although I'm at normal weight, my number is near the overweight category but the reason why I way 145 instead of 120 is because of muscle.

Fastest mile? 7:45.

6' 3" (ish, depending on who measures)

235 lbs.

I used to bike a ton, and then I started football, and they wanted me to bulk up. So I did, and managed to keep my leg strength from Biking.

Fastest kilometer: 03:55

I usually ran 5kilometers each day or almost. It's kinda my warm-up before working out. I'm training jiu-jitsu so during my runs i try to do a lot of sprints, often when uphill to keep a good cardio and strong legs.

I'm 5'10, 205 pounds. Will lower to 195 soon.
