My favorite has always been the first one, that bit where the white nsx launches off the line still sends shivers down my spine
 
GT1 was pretty awesome, but all of them are actually pretty sick!

EDIT: The NSX Taking off combined with the sounds in the background are insane!

also, GT2 isnt nearly as good.. GT3's is good.

GT4 starting is amazing

Both of GT5's are just great though.. I can't decide.. haha

I'm drawn between GT2 and GT4. GT2 just gives you a real glow for the atmosphere and tension of racing, but GT4 was my first taste of the GT franchise. The GT5 intro is alright, but I prefer the classics.
 
I have to go with GT4. I think GT5 spec 2 would be the best if the manufacturing part wasn't so long, I think the racing shots are the best ones yet.

By the way, have you thought about making this a pole?
 
Why do I remember a thread like this a while ago. Anyways mine are GT2 for the music and Gt4 for the visuals.
 
Since PD never fail to make a good video for their intros, I ranked the intros purely by their soundtracks.

1. GT2 (Still one of my favourite songs ever.)
2. GT5-II (Loved the remix of Soul on Display.)
3. GT5P (Never owned Prologue but I couldn't stop watching the intro on YouTube. :D)
4. GT3 (Feeder. Enough said.)
5. GT4 (Nice build up, song didn't fit too well though.)
6. GT1 (The song wasn't all too memorable, but the car sound effects at the start were a nice touch.)
7. GT5 (Really not a fan of My Chemical Romance and the song didn't fit the visuals at all. :yuck:)

Really difficult to decide. I really loved GT1's intro, but I think the best intro so far has been GT3's intro. GT2's was cool, but it didn't have the intensity of GT1's.

Now, I have to admit that GT4's intro managed to make me drop a tear or two, but still I preffer GT3 intro.

GT5P was really nice and the song was cool, plus because it was the new gen GT it did impress a lot.

GT5 Spec I's intro was incredible and I found it hard for it to be better. Despite the boy band, I think the song was really nice for GT.

...That was until GT5 Spec II came out... This intro gave me the same effect than GT4's intro in which it made me tear up a little bit. 5oul on d!splay with the new intro video is absolutely epic. I have no words to describe how spot on it is. The music, plus the two Mercedes V8s rumbling, the Ferrari screaming through Eau Rouge... And the M5 and M3 having some fun in Route X... Simply beautiful.

But I have to give my vote to GT3 for the good impression that it gave me.
 
In my books it's hands down GT2. I just love that song and it just suited the intro so well.
 
The American GT4 version. Since you didn't put the american version as an option, I voted for the second best, GT5 spec 2.

I know people love moon over castle in GT4 intro, but seriously, that cheesy ultra generic 80s rock song ain't got sh** on Panama.
 
I like everyone but i voted for GT4 because of the beginning. It gave me goosebumps the first time i saw it and now again!

(i like classic music too)

The GT2 Japanese intro is quite good too. Would be cool to have those old racing cars in the game.
 
GT5 spec 2 is by far the highest quality if we look at the video. The music "Soul on display" is not the most exciting soundtrack in my opinion though. I like the first part of the intro better, with the piano music and the process from mining to finished car, it's like a modern take on those classic 1960's movie intros, very stylish!

The best cinematic, however, although not being an intro, is the end credits night drive through Tokyo, with Lang Lang playing Bach.
