Your real car around Nordschliefe

In the state that my low budget tires are in, and the condition of my brake disc, brake pads, the coolant level, and the dangerously close to the end of it's life span cambelt, I'd say it probably won't make it around in one piece.

There is a video of a 1.6 Ford Focus automatic estate doing the ring in just over 10 minutes, so I'd guess my 1.8 manual hatcback would manage it in just under 10.

Nothing to do with GT5 really. But in my car I would probably be 10+ mins. The record is 7:59. Corvette C5 Z06.

somewhere in the 10ish(guessing a bit above) minute range i'm assuming for my Subaru Impreza. Somewhere around 2 days for my 88 Jeep Wrangler  seriously though it'd probably take something like a half hour or more if I had no regard for safety or the condition of the car after the lap (assuming it didn't flip or break somewhere before the finish).

A really long time :). Volvo 740 with a carburated engine.
Weight: more than the moon
Power: less than Nicaragua

Seriously the slowest car I've ever driven. No matter though, I still love it.

I have a Volvo 240 and i would probably take forever because it's heavy and lack of power.

If I had big enough balls, or a pro driver took my car round I reckon it would do around 9mins flat, maybe a little quicker.

Its about Nordschliefe which is in GT5 and would be interesting to find out real times from GT5.
No, it's not about GT5. You asked...
what kind of time do you think your car in real life would get round the Ring in ?
Note, "your car in real life." Real life is not GT5. Also, the following cars that folk are talking about are not in GT5.
my skoda fabia 1.6 tdi :D

1.8 manual [Ford Focus] hatcback

OK8
Volvo 740 with a carburated engine.
So how can this be about GT5?

If you had asked those folk whose cars are actually in GT5, to drive around the Nordschleife in GT5 and post their times, then that would be about GT5. As it is, it is not.

Aye ok fair enough.

Old Corolla from 98', 90+ hp. I guess below 20 minutes would be a good time for this car. Below 15 seems like unattainable.

Ford Escort ZX2. Good-running manual, probably 9:30ish. Good-running automatic, 10:15-10:30. My automatic, 12:00 if the trans doesn't overheat by Bergwerk.

We've got a Toyota Matrix which isn't in GT5 but it's 98% the same as the Voltz/Pontiac Vibe. I'll try it out.

Id expect something just over 8 minutes, no telling for sure because subby is so finiky about make variants. :( but thats a good thing too!

I'll have to detune the 08 Civic type-R to 130hp and run it with an auto transmission and comfort hard tires to see. I'm guessing 14mins. lol

Hmmm... 400 HP I'm guessing(haven't been to the dyno lately) on Michelin PS Cup tires and she weighs around 2100lbs so I'm going to guess a 8:00-8:30 depending on driver and traffic.

'03 Corolla, 1.8L auto. If I had decent tires and conditions, I could maybe do it in about 10 minutes. A pro driver could maybe do 9:30ish? Going off the Voltz estimate a bit because the Corolla is the same drivetrain.

A 2010 Proton Persona Elegance, 1.6 Auto. Without traffic and a clear weather, I think a lap time of less than 15 minutes is achievable. This car weight a lot but underpowered though...

10-11 minutes most likely. Light for a sedan but "VTEC Yo!" only has 103kW so I wouldn't be expecting blistering pace.

1993 Pontiac Sunbird "rustbird" SE.

Considering the sad state of the tires (studded, at least 17 years old, left rear needs frequent refills), the desperate need for an oil change, and the mangled factory front spoiler, I'd call any time under 13 minutes or so a victory as long as nothing broke or fell off.

In brand-new condition, 9:30-9:50 sounds about right.

Yeah, I have a pathetic pile of rust. Only Sunbrid in this area with a rust problem too. Thanks for that shoddy paint job, dealership!

So this became afterall a GT5 related thread after all.

In GT it's easy, i don't care about an virtual accident.
In GT with the S3 I can do it in 8:15 something.

In real life, I am such cautious I am taking around 10 min for a lap, maybe some tens seconds over it.
But on real track my goal is to bring my car and myself home rather than displaying a good 3/4 lap and a huge crash

The GTR33 managed an unofficial time of 7:50 something, but I doubt I will close down around 9 mins.
In GT different story again
