I don't know why people made a big deal about this... doesn't seem like it caught on. Seem the same as AIM with a mic to me.

Its like free phone calls over your IP, plus you can use it to call any real telephone or mobile. Best of all its free.

I guess I never got that because I don't see how you use a traditional phone over the net without having to buy addons.

It's free from PC to PC. You have to pay to call an actual telephone. I used to use it, but I havn't for the longest time.

While we're on the subject, you will be able to integrate Skype with your GTP profile in the next version of our site. This will allow you to click and call someone just as you would with our current AIM, Yahoo, MSN icons, etc.

Used Skype for a bit, basically had it set up as an always on connection between my bedroom in my parent's house and my brother's bedroom in his house. Got boring quickly though. My brother's GF uses it to call her mum back in France, that's what it's all about, free international phone calls.
