Chappelle's Show
Arrested Development

Arrested Development is proof that Fox is run by a group of retards. They are actually planning on cancelling quite possibly their best show from the past several years for American Dad. The pilot episode of that was absolutely atrocious. I'm not surprised though. They cancelled Family Guy because they couldn't keep it in a regular time slot due to crappy shows like American Idol.

How can you guys vote for Family Guy, but not vote for The Simpsons?
Simple. The Simpsons has lost it's edge over the years. They no longer push the limits of what is and isn't acceptable. The gay marriage episode was the perfect example. They had a lot of room to push it further but they didn't. To top that, the humor isn't as good any more. Maybe it's just because I'm looking for a change?

Precisely. With the introduction of shows like Family Guy and South Park, The Simpsons has become plain and dull. South Park pushes the limits (especially the later seasons), like eMad said, and that along with some funny, crude jokes makes it interesting to watch and also very funny. Family Guy is random, and also pushes the limits (though not as much as South Park), and that provides some of the funniest lines around.

The Simpsons on the other hand is becoming tired. They can't seem to produce anything remotely funny anymore, even for The Simpsons, and the older episodes have been viewed at least 5 times per teenager (and some adults). They've done everything they can with the humour they provide, and if they want to keep going, maybe they could start pushing the limit, even just a little, but still keeping The Simpsons style.

It's too "kiddy" now-a-days. Family Guy and South Park are the new wave.

My favourites (after the Simpsons ;) )

Monty Python's Flying Circus
I'm Alan Partridge
Brass Eye
The Day Today
Human Remains
The Larry Sanders Show
Takeshi's Castle (gameshow)
Fawlty Towers
The Life of Brian
The Big Lebowski

Since when was the Simpsons ever about "pushing the limits of what is and isn't acceptable"? It's focused on the humor, not "the edge".

Yes, we know it's not about pushing the limits. What I was saying is, shows like South Park and Family Guy have come in and introduced that type of humour, and it's really made the humour on The Simpsons look kind of boring. Secondly, they haven't come up with any good new material for the last 3 or 4 seasons. Thirdly, the old episodes are played over and over again. In Australia, they are on every day, most days it's on twice a day.

In my opinion, it's getting very tired and repetitive.

Over the antennas, without cable or satellite, The Simpsons airs 4 to 5 times per day where I live. With the satellite, it nearly doubles 👎

Nowadays everything is about being EXTREME and pushing the limits, it's not about humor at all. Also these guys don't understand that Family Guy and South Park would not even exist if the Simpsons hadn't been created, The Simpsons were the original show that 'pushed the limits'. Ever seen that South Park episode with the catch phrase "Simpsons did it!" Every time something happened in the episode, they'd comment on how The Simpsons had already done it.

1. The Simpsons
2. South Park
3. Family Guy
4. Conan O' Brien
5. Seinfeld
6. The Daily Show
7. Half Baked
8. Napolean Dynamite
9. MXC
10. Futurama

Joke Option: Mad TV (Boy, that show blows.)

1. The Simpsons
2. South Park
3. Family Guy
4. Dodgeball
5. Seinfeld
6. Aqua Teen Hunger Force
7. Shaun of the Dead
8. Office Space
9. Friends (ouch)
10. Futurama

As you can see, I tend to like funny cartoons.

I absolutely know that The Simpsons paved the way for every other cartoon-comedy show around. I've followed The Simpsons ever since I could talk (mild-exaggeration), and I have most seasons on DVD. I was a massive fan, but these days it's become tired and repetitive due to the fact that it is repeated way too many times.

This is why The Simpsons did not appear on my list, as it is a list of current favourite comedy shows/movies. If it was my favourites of all time, of course The Simpsons would appear first.
