This is a difficult one i'm sure :D
Name your personal top 3 of all the games you played during the last generation of PS3 and Xbox 360, with nr. 1 being the best obviously. PC games can be included too if they fall in the same timeframe.

3: Heavy Rain
2. Mafia 2
1: Red dead redemption

As you can see the games that make a big impression on me are good story driven adventures; Heavy rain had very original gameplay and a good story line, and talking about such I found that the one of Mafia 2 was very impressive too (especially the ending), and i really enjoyed the 40's/50's world and the style of the game + the characters were very realistic although there wasn't much to do outside of the story, but that didn't really matter in the end. Loved having vintage playmates as a collectible :)

Red dead redemption was an awesome world to experience in general and that one made the biggest impression on me of all so it stands at nr. 1 of 7th gen games i will hold dear forever.

3. LA NOIRE - CSI Simulator 1947
2. GTAV - Best Open world game ever
1. GT6 - Best Racing game on PS3

1. GT5

My first GT game and my god did I play that for a long time. It also got me into racing games as a whole, particularly online... If only GT6 was 5 with better physics and a few more cars. Gaming heaven:bowdown:

2. Skyrim/ Oblivion

Again on this one I have spent waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time playing these games. Overall about 250 hours on skyrim and about 70 on oblivion (make that 80 by next Monday ;)) I just love the world, the (very) simplistic combat and the ability to be a complete badass!

3. GTA V

I couldn't decide between this and red dead but I went this because I prefer cars over horses  Both amazing games though.

Not in any particular order:

1. Burnout Paradise (best arcade racer ever)
2. Race Driver Grid (7 years later and Codemasters still haven't put out anything that tops it)
3. Journey (I only play racing games so this here is saying something)

GT5 and GT6 are good games, but they lack the oomph of past GT games that makes them extra special. Heck, even GT5P I think is a more cohesive experience than those 2.

3. Just Cause 2
2. GTA V
1. Team Fortress 2 (which totally counts as a last gen game even though nobody plays it on anything other than PC)

  1. Forza Horizon
  2. Guild Wars 2
  3. Super Mario Galaxy (2)
Super Mario Galaxy rekindled the magic of Mario games with a brilliant score and wondrous level designs that reinvented 3D platforming. Gotta love trying to hurl yourself into orbit. I'm including the sequel because it was more of an expansion than something new, and while it wasn't as creative as the first game, it had its own attractions, including playing with Yoshi, and a memorable endgame gauntlet.

Guild Wars 2 surprised me with its engrossing action-oriented gameplay that rewards spatial strategies and platforming skills. The unique experience and loot mechanics are also very pro-social while allowing anti-social people (like myself) to play without having to communicate with anyone. With no subscription to pay and my wife by my side, we took our time uncovering the world of Tyria, which was vibrant throughout and always offered something new to do.

Forza Horizon was nearly the game I've always wanted; a street-oriented simulator with undulating backroads, realistic physics, and the garage functions of a Forza game. The physics weren't quite what I was hoping for, but they were more comfortable than FM4's compromises in that area. The map could have been larger, but it was passionately crafted, packed with little details, and offered great driving roads at every turn. It's too bad the XB360 version of FH2 is such a soulless followup, because FH1 is something really special.

Call of Duty modern warfare 2
It did almost everything right

Dark souls
This game is just amazing and alomost a piece of art

GtaV this game is everything the last generation stood for.

3) Dark Souls
2) GTA V
1) Forza Motorsports 4

Honorable mentions to Dota 2, Forza Horizon, War Thunder and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Those are among the games I enjoyed and played the most - and some are still being player

When it comes to honourable mentions I have to include Red Dead Redemption, Just Cause 2, Grand Theft Auto IV, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, Forza 4, Battlefield 3, Saints Row 2 and Gran Turismo 5. Oh, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

1) Forza Motorsport 4
2) MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
3) Forza Horizon

Gran Turismo comes close and probably leads in overall time played but I didn't have as much fun as I did with these games. MS: PR was my first PS3 game and kept me playing for almost 2 years, the online ranking system made it extremely challenging to get to the top rank as it was easy to fall down the ranks with just a couple of bad races.

1. DiRT 2
2. Driver San Francisco
3. GRID Autoport

Honorable mentions: MXGP, Sleeping Dogs, South Park : TSoT, Test Drive Unlimited & Forza Motorsport 4.

Forza Motorsport 4- best Forza game since the 1st one, still want to play this game more.

Skyrim- Best RPG I've played, so customizable it's ridiculous, bought most of the DLC which is also very good too.

TDU2- This is a love/hate for some because the Handling mostly. I was able to make adjustments to the settings that made the game very enjoyable for me, almost from the very beginning. I have easily over 1500 hours into it, and I still miss playing it. The Casino and Poker was a nice distraction too.

Forza Motorsport 2
Skyrim
Test Drice Unlimited

The Last of Us - The only game to live up to the hype since MGS2 in my opinion....Enough said
Battlefield 3 - Played over 200 hours and have never gone back to COD since.
GTA5 - After the disappointment of GTA4 this is what that game should've been.
GT5- Just makes it on the list as PD did such a wonderful job with the updates, more companies should take note.

Again I have picked 4 instead of 3 but how can i leave any of them out :sly:

1) Skyrim, I really don't like Bethesda's works, I've given them a fair chance and all but I just can't get invested enough to play more than a week. However, my playtime for this one rivals GT5 and Forza 4 combined. Something about the lore and the beautifuly crafted world keeps me coming back for more.

2) Forza 4, Racing game of the generation. Forza Horizon was probably the best racer I've ever played but it was too short and the lack of tuning really hurts the game.

3. GT5 Prologue, when it came out, I just couldn't believe how good it looked. It was a true next-gen title and I spent years racing online. Those were my most competitive years and made a lot of friends. It was all about the racing back then.

Honorable mentions:

Shift 1, it was a near perfect mix of sim and arcade, racing online while showing off your custom liveries was a lot of fun, my go-to car even became a bit famous within the online community, it had a unique livery and set up that made it scary quick through Willow Springs.

MGS4, my god, this game was just epic, my favorite in the series.

Most Wanted 2012/Hot Pursuit 2010, I put these together because I like them for the same reason, stupid fun, possibly the best arcade racers of all time, better than Burnout Paradise and really close to Burnout 3 Takedown.

GT5, my second most played game ever and a few days short from being number 1. Although it dissapointed me, I can't deny the hours spent lapping the ring at dawn, my online drifting team, the car collecting, the thousands of pictures taken often used as XMB wallpapers. The door to door racing. Getting to level 40. That first time watching the intro and then a second time with spec II. It has so much flaws, yet, somehow I love it, at least enough to don't even think about GT6. GT5 does not know what GT6 is, he thinks he is the latest GT and it shows in its spirit and passion behind it. Kaz and the team were really trying when they made GT5, GT6 doesn't really feel like anything to me.
