This car was on Top Gear last night - they tried to test it three times - the first time it broke down, the second time it broke down and caught fire, the third time it lapped slower than a Ford Focus!

This and GTA Spano, Koenigsegg Agera, LaFerrari, P1, 918, Veneno, Shelby Ultimate Aero TT, Hennessey Venom F5.....proper hyper cars. Did I miss some? Like Gumpert Apollo? Noble M600? Caparo T1? Vecto M12? How many cars did GT miss??

There are plenty of brands that have burst into flames, unfortunately topgear so happened to catch it on tape.
Here's a list of other high end cars that have had the same problems:

Audi R8 V10 - During Testing
Caparo T1 - During Testing
Lamborghini Aventador - During Test Drive
Porsche 911 GT3, 2014 - Electrical Faliure Recall
Ferrari 458 - Design Faliure Recall
Lotus Exige - Leaking hose Recall

That's an interesting example, the Furai burned completely to the ground while TopGear tested it, yet Mazda told them not to publish that to preserve its image and it worked just fine.

The 2015 ST-1 currently displayed at Geneva appears more refined, perhaps update the OP? @OriginalCheezIt

Absolutely LOVE this car in brown. An unusual choice I know, but I think metallic brown really brings out the details and contours of a cars design...
