Seeing the debate over the CT230R Tuner or Racer proposal, I figured that I ask this:

What category would you put the Zonda R in?

In my opinion, I think the R is an overdone GT1 car that can smash Super GT, GT1, Tuners, and LMP2 cars to oblivion. It can't, however, keep up with some LMP1/Group C racers.

To some, it's an insane, untamable racer that needs Stig-like skill to utilze.

And according to this:

It's a track day version of their road car, the Zonda F.

So what's your opinion?

I Imagine you know this but in the real world it belongs in no category, it conforms to no rules or regulations (race wise).

So are you asking where it belongs in the game?

Personally I'll just let the PP system work out what cars it can compete with.

Woah, that commercial was like Terminator at the beginning, then became the end race for some movie. I call Terminator 5: The Revenge of John Connor. Remember, he'll have a race against a T1000.

OT: I really think it was more designed as a GT1 car, but then Pagani realised he was way out of the park, so he tried to market off the money by producing the car as a "Road Car". Come on, it comes with slicks!

I would say it's power and aerodynamics are only second of Le Mans Prototype.. but it's a bit heavy.

Go with the others about PP.

It wasnt designed with any rule book or series in mind, think Ferrari FXX. Its not a road car you can take on the street either as its a pure race car.

I'd classify it as a "works" car, quite similar to the IS F Racing Concept, the CT230R, and the S2000 GT1 Turbo. I dunno if it's the right term, but that word just came to my head, that's all.

you forgot none of the above/fun car

but then again u can't race it either due to all sorts of regulations

I voted trackday car.

Scary ? what you guys on its nowhere near scary all LMP's kick its arse.

I voted scary :dopey:

Though, if you are focused enough, there's nothing to be scared of, the car handles very well as long as you have no lead foot.

^I like driving it

It's a track car, plain and simple.

I t cannot be driven on road or track days in real life, only by having your own track in the middle of nowhere can it be driven!

You need to lay off Topgear for a wile buddy. It is only 127db (less than a nascar), it can be used on some tracks and toned down for others. They used the full noise one for TG because it is filmed on an airfield with no noise limit and they can have a laugh saying that it can't be driven. I didn't think anyone would believe that.

Man... I wish I could figure out left foot braking....

Absolutely not, it's a easy handling car with RWD.

It's a track day version of their road car, the Zonda F.

As they said, it's a track car since it doesn't follow any rules since it's not road legal or fit any racing regulations.

But before it is even a GT1 car, it has to be approved from FIA from being a homologated as a road car first. Cars like the CLK GTR, McLaren F1 and others had to have at least one or more produced for road driving and some as a track day car as a prototype before the car can actually compete in any form of motorsport that the FIA governs like the 24hrs of LeMans.

So that's why I selected homologation which a GT1 prototype is mostly relates itself to , it will soon probably see a career in 12hr of Sebring, 24hrs of the Ring or something like that. Just a matter of time.

The Zonda r is essentially a production lmp challenge (lmpc) car, but faster and more expensive. The body changes that were implemented on the Zonda r have aerodynamic features of lmp cars. These include: the entire back end, front end devices (basic nose shape, front spoilers), l,w,h changes, and even the new intakes. The only things that tell you it is a Zonda is the basic shape, the iconic headlights, and the arrangement of the tailpipes.( : : )

I'm sure with the new regs and the Delta Wing being excepted by Le Man for 2012 in a new category it falls somewhere between GT/LMP2 class and the new class that the delta wing will represent, I voted prototype GT.(LMP2)

Defenitly not a gt1(Might look like one a little ). a Supercar race edition... its like a racing sls or ford gt (on speed).
Only little more SCARY :p. In my eyes the only other car like that is the koenigsegg (i realy miss that car since GRID game)
Awesome car(s) !!!
