I'm coming up to the point where I need a Zonda to do the Zonda races in Pro. I noticed that there were two, the Road version and the Race version. Is the race version much better than a well tunned road version, or is the road version good enough to win the races? I'm about to win the Road version from the NA series, and basically want to know am I wasting my time tuning it or should I try and win the race car from the All-Japan GT Championship?
 
I attempted this with the C12S. Bought everything I could for it, tunned it a bit for the course (Mucked about with the Suspension and gearing). Then couldn't keep with the pace. Had a tough time. Gave up, went and won the Zonda Race car.

Obliterated the field with it. Many people have won this race in the C12S. From ridin' the walls, to clean, smooooooth racing skills.

Sure win = Race car
Tough, enjoyable race = C12S

the race cars are way two fast..

i wonder if the developers ever thought it would look strange if all the zondas in the race where EXACTLY the same?

they could at least have you racing against one or two road zondas as well as the race version
 
I agree...go with the racer. I also had the C12S fully modded and got nowhere with it. The race version will get you where you need to go.
 
I won it on the first try with a fully modded Zonda C12S, and like mentioned, it was very tough but I'd say a whole lot of fun. Being ahead by about 2 seconds for 10 laps of Rome is exhilerating; any big mistake could put you in 6th.

Then I did it again with the Zonda Race Car that I won, and when fully modded it's no longer a challenge.
 
you can win the race with a tuned zonda the racing zonda is not that much different from its road model just it handles better
 
The C12S is plenty to win that race. I won the Zonda race car twice and I've never touched it. Plus you won't spend as much credits if you buy the C12S.
 
The C12S SUcks. I bought it loaded it with mods and after several miserable attempts I sold it and went off to win the race version. Once I had that I managed to win the race. :D

And to the guy above who lapped them all in his C12S Is that sheep I smell no its Bull. I'd luv to see that replay. 😈

It's not that hard to lap cars with the Zonda if you know how to tune the car. This car has some potential if you know what you're doing.
 
I won easily with a C12S. I just wallride all of the corners. :D

SteveP, The secret is to tune the springs with the fronts heavier than the rear. You must get the top turbo for an "easy" win.
Set your springs 9.0 in front, 6.0 in rear. Lower the car to the bumpstops. And then go into "qualify". Run a couple of laps to check speed and handling.
If you're understeering, raise the rear height a couple of clicks and test again. When you are happy with the handling start dinking with the gears. You should have a car you can win with in ten laps.
 
I had to use the Zonda Race Car to win this series as well. I tried the C12S, but no luck. I do like the Zonda Race Car though, very nice looks :cool:

Anyway, that aside, I won easily with the Zonda C12S. However, one very interesting thing happened to me... on the last lap, EVERY SINGLE AI car pitted! The morons! So, I won by a good 30 seconds or so (I would've won even if they hadn't pitted though) :rolleyes:
