Logitech RS50 Base (PlayStation/PC)

The RS50 Base is Logitech's way into direct drive, sold as a bare base so you choose the wheel and pedals yourself. Its 8 Nm motor turns the wheel directly, with no gears or belts in between, so the forces come through smoother and with far more detail than a gear-driven wheel, and a slide or a big curb has real weight behind it. TRUEFORCE adds engine and road detail on top in supported games. Any wheel on the Logitech quick release fits, from the RS and PRO ranges. This version works with PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, and pairing it with an Xbox-compatible Logitech wheel or hub adds Xbox as well. Four T-nuts come in the box for bolting to a rig, while the Table Clamp for RS50 for a desk is sold separately. G-series pedals and the Driving Force Shifter carry over through the Racing Adapter.

RS50 Base vs. G923

The G923 is the complete gear-driven option: wheel, three pedals, and desk clamps in one box, with TRUEFORCE too. Its 2.3 Nm through gears is a fraction of the RS50's strength and feels notchier, but it needs nothing else to start racing. The RS50 Base asks you to add a wheel and pedals, and in return gives a much bigger step in feel. G923 owners can bring their pedals along through the Racing Adapter.

RS50 Base vs. Fanatec GT DD Pro

Fanatec's Gran Turismo DD Pro is the other 8 Nm direct drive base licensed for PlayStation. It brings FullForce, Fanatec's own high-frequency detail, and Fanatec's much larger range of wheels and pedals on the QR2 quick release. The RS50 keeps you in Logitech's smaller, simpler range, with TRUEFORCE in the major sims and a way to keep using G-series pedals.

RS50 Base vs. PRO DD11

The PRO DD11 is the same idea at 11 Nm, with a table clamp in the box. The extra strength gives more headroom before the strongest forces get cut off, so heavy cornering and big impacts keep their shape. Every RS and PRO wheel and pedal set fits both bases, so starting on the RS50 and moving up later strands nothing.
