Belt drive

The motor turns the wheel through a toothed belt. The belt smooths out the sharpest detail, which is why a belt base feels softer than a direct drive of the same strength, and it is also what makes them quieter and cheaper.

Quick release

The coupling that holds the steering wheel onto the base and lets you swap wheels without tools. Each manufacturer has its own, and they do not interchange: a Fanatec wheel does not fit a Moza base because the couplings are different shapes.

The TS-PC Racer Servo Base is the PC version of Thrustmaster's top belt-driven base. A 40-watt brushless motor drives the wheel through a mixed dual belt and pulley system, with built-in motor cooling to keep the forces consistent in long sessions, and H.E.A.R.T. magnetic sensing reads the steering. It takes Thrustmaster add-on wheels on the screw-on quick release, plus Thrustmaster pedals, shifters, and handbrakes, all sold separately. A clamp is included.

TS-PC Racer vs. T300

The T300 Servo Base is the step down, with a smaller motor and PlayStation support, on the same quick release.

TS-PC Racer vs. Moza R9 V3

Moza's R9 V3 is a direct drive rival on PC at 9 Nm, smoother and more detailed than any belt drive, but it means moving to Moza's wheels and pedals.

TS-PC Racer vs. T818
