Here's the plan for getting the Crown. Hopefully calling up the owner/seller by tomorrow morning/noon before work and negotiating a price. If he's not available I have Thursday and Friday before work as well. Once a price is worked out, on Saturday I'll go to my friend's place where he and a friend of his will take...his friend's 240SX up to the town (about a 45 minute drive and $20 in gas I'll have to pay my friend's...friend). Take a look at the vehicle for ourselves even if we get sent pictures and are told it's rust-free or something. If it's good, we'll drive back to the bank and I'll get myself the money, then rent a trailer, hook it up to my friend's 4Runner, drive back up north. Purchase, put on trailer, and bring it on down to my friend's workshop. If the frame, rocker panels, and wheel wells are horribly rusted out. Then it's a no go... And I'll cry... :(

It looks pretty freaking solid, I really hope it turns out as clean as it seems it is.

Also, the M3, man, that's harsh.

That's a goldmine right there; a lot of those cars seem to be in decent shape (body-wise); no dents or anything. I especially like the 60s Cadillac on the fourth row of pictures. :drool:
 
No, it's real. That picture was taken more than 20 years ago when a stash of rare exotic cars was discovered in a barn in France. The lot included Bugattis, Alfas, whatever you want. They have since been rescued and are exhibited in a museum as found. However, several were sold, including the Miura. I don't know what happened to it.

That mura is in good shape as far as parts still on it. Nothing major seems to be missing.

Anyway, first time on this page and looking through that Cars in Barns site :( right there, How can certain Americans let that happen, all those mustangs, chargers, challenger, torinos, firebirds, chevelles, camaros, cudas.........aahhhh if lived over there.... i would try and snap up loads.

Love the irony tho, can afford to maintain but looses money every second unmaintained. And to stubborn to sell up. Poor poor cars, glad people out there do restore to a great quality but certain cars should need restoration.

The Plymouth in the middle. That sunvisor is worth a small fortune today. Well for Plymouth parts at least.

Also, awesome Dodge panel truck tree, wonder how long it takes for such a large fruit to grow.
 
A few more from the Cosworth graveyard:









From what i can make out on other forums, it's some odd Swedish bloke whose collected dozens of crashed and stolen Cosworths, some of them imported, and tried to sell them off. Trouble is he's charging too much so there's very little interest in them, so they've just been left there to slowly rot.
 
Much as I dislike how they've ended up, the OCD in me is oddly comforted by the way they've been arranged by colour.

To be honest I'm not sure which is a worse fate - rotting in a Swedish field or ruined with boy racer bits by some cretin of an owner. And then crashed into a Berkshire hedge, probably.
 
After a bit more digging, it appears that the bloke isn't all that odd, but he is quite big in the Swedish cosworth scene. He has a garage/workshop somewhere near by, but when he ran out of space he started storing them in his garden for safe keeping(?).
 
Typical case of a guy collecting a certain kind of car. At least they can serve a purpose as parts cars or the occasional odd buy.
