Welcome to the Official GTPlanet Spec Miata Online racing series!

We are running the '89 and '91 Mazda Miata from the Premium dealership only. This keeps things close and allows the racers to customize the cars paint/wheels to their liking. Drivers have already found the '89 to be faster than the '91 model (weird..I know) so a majority will be running the older model.

Cars are set up using the Official SCCA Spec Miata rule book HERE.

Allowed modifications are as follows:
  • Oil Change
  • Racing Cone Filter
  • Sport Exhaust
  • High Flow Catalytic Converter
  • Stage 1 Clutch
  • Chassis Stiffening
  • Weight Reduction Stg. 2
  • Plastic Window Replacement ('91 models only)
  • Full Racing Suspension (Stg. 3)
  • Soft Sport Tires

Any modifications to the engine, differential or the transmission are NOT ALLOWED. They are to remain stock.

Front Aero Modification (lip spoiler) is also allowed, as is any wheel of your choice. Spring rates are regulated in Spec Miata to 700 lbs/in (12.5 kgf/mm) front, 325 lbs/in (5.8 kgf/mm) rear, for those interested in staying true to the series.

I'm changing it to the full racing suspension then. The real spec Miata's are allowed to adjust the sways and alignment settings (within stock specs) so I guess we'll just let this one go...

Haha, I was just about to start a Miata Club. I was waiting til I got settled in my new place and got my setup back up.

I am down for this, but will probably not be available all the time. So as long as I can just show up and race some events I will!

I'm disappointed with the suspension choice, but happy with the tires choice...


Only real tracks for me:

- Laguna
- Tsukuba
- Cote d'azur
- Nurburgring GP D
- Suzuka (bof), East (yesss)
- Monza
- Indy road
- Daytona road
- Fuji
- Nordschleife as the BIG one

30 minutes races will be my choice or 2 x 20 minutes.

Hi guys...I think this is an awesome idea and would love to be a part of it:
Pleased with the mod choices, that should make driver ability the biggest factor!

I'm driving Black with Silver wheels
Track of choice would be Leguna Seca or Nurbugring!
 
I'll make a list of tracks tonight. If I wanted to run one of the races on a user-created course that I created, would anyone be opposed to that?

No objection from me. I'll race on any tarmac circuit except a straight line and an oval. :sly:

👍 Reminded me of Cadwell.

Not that it is not a fun track, but lets face it running a close to stock miata here is just too relax, I think a chicane somewhere and 1 tighter hairpin will add more excitement.

I think with the elevation changes, it'll be pretty fun. The first corner is pretty tight as well. I could try and modify it, but it might end up changing the entire layout.
 
I see that everyone is listing their region by where you are actually at in the country. Do the servers split us up that way? Or will we all end up together by NTSC region?

I've found that connection issues are hit or miss. Someone from Japan was playing with us and there weren't too many issues that I noticed.
