Coming from an avid racer who has been racing SuperGT500 cars since gt5's release, I am fully aware of what a stock, tuned and hacked gt500 car can do around a track. Some (or most) may find this mean, but with my experiences, no exclusions should be made to the bannings, regardless if the use was online or not. nobody I raced against was doing it just for fun. Maybe it's just my dumb luck but every hacker I raced against shaved a good 4-7 seconds off an already near impossible lap time. Me being a totaly gt500 geek, (yes I raced with both tuned turbo's and stock gt500 race cars). Very rarely have I seen people post quicker lap times at these locations... (Note cars ARE tuned with stage 3 engine upgrades and a stage 2 turbo kit)

SSR5 1:15.5's
Nürburgring GP/F 1:51.6's
Rome 1:03.1's
Tokyo R246 1:33.4's
Deep Forest Raceway Reverse 1:06.6's
Nurburgring Nordschleife 6:12.xxx
Cote D'Azure (Monaco) 1:29.6's
Sazuka 1:51'2's
Daytona road course 1:49'2s

All the people who i have raced with that has hacked their car to be faster around track shaved atleast a good 4 seconds off of these times (via most recent patch).

So because of my bad experiences, I'm finding it very hard to be sympathetic to those who have modded even the slightest bit. Just because you're "bored" of the game doesn't fully give you the right to mod the thing. Sorry but I'm pro for banning all modders/hackers either it be online or offline use... (Kudo's to those of you that modded on your secondary ps3's)

Disallow cars from entering a 'race for real' room that have been modified. There is, definitely, a way for them to check for this, current car data is uploaded to GT5 servers when you enter a track in an online room, I believe, and sometimes there are even glitches that have you end up with another driver's car. This means that the data is going through the servers at some point. It would take little effort for them to run a little script that verified that the engine, chassis, etc all matched the same car, and that any 'multipliers' or modifications of the grip also sent up a red flag. Those cars would return an error, instead of letting you enter the free run mode or the race.

Do the same for seasonals.

Bam, problem solved, PD. No banning needed. You want to allow hacked cars? "race for fun".

To ban everyone is simply ignorance. The question should be to what extent they will attempt to ban SOME users, but to request that all users are banned is to be completely unknowing of the advantages that hacking has brought.

YAY
definetly

they are ruining the game
(or should I say online experience)

Personally Im reporting each hybrid user and hopefully one day banhammer will land

I just hope they see that a part of the "hackers" don't ruin the experience of others.
Some people make those hybrids to piss off people, it's good that they do something about that.
But the people that do it just to have fun (without annoying others) aren't a problem in my opinion.
They have more fun with the game, because of the hacking and no other people get mad...
The people that make "realistic hybrids" make the game better I think.
So, they should only ban the people that make unrealistic hybrids with way too much power.

Theres is no such thing as a realistic hybrid tune.A hex editor doesn't make yoyr hybrids true to the real thing, no matter how you hackers put it..its CHEATING. OFFline doesn't really matter because you just cheating yourselves thinking the lap times you put up are realistic whether there slowwer or faster.I SAY BAN ONLINE HACKERS COMPLETELY.and let hackers do what they want offline.
