The new Aston Martin V8 Vantage looks amazing. The best looking Aston I think. The spec list:
4.3-litre V8 (Jaguars 4.2 V8) developing 380bhp
175mph top speed (claimed)
0-60mph around 5 secs
weighs around 1500kg (170kg less than DB9)
Price around £70,000

The car will rival the Porsche 911 and 3000 of them will probably be built a year.
There will probably be a 'S' version in the future.
My opinion is that the Vantage won't beat the 911 for handling but will beat in in many other areas (looks, build quality).
For more info, the latest Evo (77) magazine has an 14 page article on it.

Not the best looking, damn nice but not the best IMO.

You know the guy thats developing the handling of the new Aston used to do the asme for Porsche so I wouldn't be suprised if the handling is right up there, the DB9's is great.

I would class the Aston Martin DB9 as the most sexy Aston Martin of all time with the Aston Martin DB7 in 2nd.

I can tell the difference quite easilly.
The Vanquish has a squatter stance, bigger head lights and the rear wheelarch protrudes out the car quite sudenly at the top.

This is all smaller, narrower lights, smooth but with less going on, also the fog lights are in the same unit as the head lights.

The DB9 is the most identifiable on the market now with it's longer headlights that swoop back, it's also the least agressive looking but IMO the best looking. The DB9 is automotive nirvana.

SlipZtrEm is a recycled GT4 model!
A pretty large behind, kind of like the old Puma, actually... but I'm really enjoying the look of this car. Word is that it outpaces a 911 around the 'Ring, so I think Aston's being very serious.

The funny thing is that one of the car's more immediate rivals will be the next XK.

Very handsome car, and it's good Aston Martin is bringing back the V8's. Now let's just hope they're abandoning the ridiculously non-functional sequential gearboxes and giving us a proper five or six speed gearbox.

Fantastic looking cars shame they spend more time in the dealers garage than their owners!

Buy a continental GT, amazing car for money

Technically, the V8 isn't Aston Martin's. It's a Jaguar 4.2-litre unit with an extra 100cc's added.

I think they are giving us a 6-speed manual box. I don't know weather the sequential box is optional.
