Replay Checking:

  1. It is customary for all participants of the WRS to verify each others submitted replays
  2. Once you have checked the replay, post in this thread to say that you have checked it and whether it's clean, dirty or doesn't meet the required race specifications
  3. When verifying a replay, check against this weeks race specification, check that the tyres are the correct compound and that the power and weight is correct for example
  4. If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Told you I hate this track. It's a good thing I nailed the middle of the track because the rest was UGLY!
Looks like I forgot to submit. Oops. Nice times up front. 👍
I wish I had forgotten :dunce:

Congratz all podium finishers,en everyone who reached his goal.
Well done.

Congrats to all the winners and podium finishers. Well done by @mike_gt3 with the overall, looks like your last sector was enough. :dopey:

As I mentioned in the race thread, sorry to the guy who has to check my lap, for the close call on the right hand side of the last turn of T1. I checked it carefully, and I know there's a bit of that left rear tire still on tarmac at the worst part. But please scrutinize all you would like. 👍

Checking some replays now. I like to give tips where I can.

Nice, tidy lap. 👍 First sector, you could have pushed a bit more between turns 1 and 2, but most of your time lost was due to line in turn 3. You turned in late, it causes the car to miss the groove, and you actually had to give more power than you should need to, inducing more wheel spin. Turn 4, you could just carry more speed in, and again find the groove. I have nothing for you in the second and third sectors, our times were nearly identical there. Nice looking lap. :)

You should shift from 4th to 5th while in the air on the main straight, it helps to carry more momentum down the hill. Throttle on point for turn 2 was a touch late. Same with turn 3, just a touch late. It looks like maybe you were trying to use that to avoid braking for turn 4, but using throttle to exit 3, then a touch of brake to get into turn 4 helped this car to rotate. A slightly tighter line in turn 5 would be better. You get close to that dirt on the exit, where you can lose grip, and also risk hitting the tunnel on entry. Your final turn is less aggressive than faster times will be. Further to the left on entry, with a straighter line under braking would be better. It would help you get back on the throttle sooner for more exit speed as well. Nice lap overall, the tips are intended to help you become a better driver.

Have some more loaded to check, but will post these now to avoid duplicate checking.

The villain in an appropriately colored black car, I see. :sly: Nice, tidy lap. Your first 2 sectors each up on mine pretty handily, then you still gave me 0.055 back in the final sector. An aggressive entry out to the left in the final turn would have helped you to be even faster. Nice win!

Please check mine if you can, would very much like to have your input. 👍 You know my style, so you know how hard this event was for me to "tone it down." Really would like to know how I did from your perspective.

You could have kept a slightly tighter line in turn 1. You were maybe a bit late on the brakes, causing you to slide past just a bit. That probably did not cast you much, and you might even realize it already.

Your real lost time in the first sector is in turn 3, you over-rotate the car to the point you have to counter steer. If you can just ease the car down into that pocket, it will almost turn itself, a lot like you did for turn 4.

The last turn, you are too aggressive with trail braking, which causes you to lose the rear too much at turn in. If you could ease out of the brakes more fluidly, giving that grip to the front wheels as you turn in, you would have been faster there.

Good lap with lots of good examples of smooth inputs and good car control. 👍 I just zeroed in on your lost time, I think you could pick up 1-2 tenths pretty easily with those tweaks.

Damn fine looking lap with the pad, man. Don't know how you make such smooth steering inputs.

Nice P2 for D1 and overall. 👍

I'm having problems with the replay checking procedure. I get the file on my flash drive but when I plug it into my PS3, its not showing me that's its even on the flash drive but it is on there. May give me the step by step procedure so I can take it from the beginning....maybe I'm missing something. Its showing that its on my flash drive when plugged into my lap top, but it doesn't show when plugged into my PS3 for some reason.

Pretty happy with a win even though i completly missed the last corner! after t2 it felt like walking on eggs:lol:

Thx to Brandon @ItsAllAboutWins for the conversation that motivated me to find a way to run a last session:tup:
and well done on the 2nd place!

i was afraid about my t3!! hehe

thx admins for this nice combo, i really enjoy stock cars.!

Thx @EDK for checking and making my attempt at explaining t1 a lot cleaner and more simple:tup:

my best t1 was. 750 but the speed at the bridge started to suffer.

i hope to be able to watch Dennis @DTM t3, awesome last sector mate! and nice comeback for, 3rd place!

well done to everyone who reached their goal or learned a few things!

again i am sorry i cant watch a replay this week, im getting new parts for my computer in about a month.

Where are you trying to view it? Should be on the XMB menu before loading the game) under "Saved Data Utility (PS3)".

There, you should be able to see your flash drive as a stoarge deive, and should be able to copy files by highlighting the correct one and hitting triangle, and selecting copy to PS3. Once in game, there's an option at the far right of the replay menu to "Load Files". If you click on that, and ask to see the list, the file you uploaded in the XMB menu should be there for you to import. Once you've done that, it will be on your replay list in your gallery, as if you had saved it yourself.

In general, you can get on the throttle sooner coming out of most turns. And you can be full throttle sooner, this is not a car that needs you to hold 90% throttle for a period of time, just get it to the floor once you are laying into it. If you start to lose the car, use the wheel to control it, it does not have enough power to get away from you.

You lose a lot by turning in late for turn 3, not carrying enough momentum, and not getting into the cambered groove. A bit of the same in 4. You waited much too long to get on full throttle for turn 5, which should be flat out until the last turn, so you've lost momentum.

Most of your lost time is in the last sector. You can take the uphill right/left after the T2 split flat, no need to lift for it. Just turn into the first right hander aggressively, and then bring the car back to the left steadily.

The last turn, you brake too early, don't carry enough momentum in, and don't carry far enough to the back before turn in. Turning in early causes you to have to lift before getting back on for the exit. If you carry all the way to the back, you can make it a super late apex and just hammer out of there.

Yea, when I put my flash drive into my PS3, after going through the steps of getting it there (the replay), to do those steps, the flash drive appears to be blank, with nothing on it. But when I put it back into my lap top, the replay data shows up just like it did when I went through the first part of the process.

Need to be sure you have the proper folder path on the flash drive. It can help to make sure you use one that you put one of your own replays on, and then make sure you drill to this level of the file path.

Main Folder > PS3
Second Folder > SAVEDATA
Inside of that folder > BCJSReplayData

Also, make sure the replay folder you are putting in there is named properly, at the right level in the hierarchy, and not zipped.

In general, you are not focusing on getting to apexes, slow in, fast out. Your speed approaching the apexes is sometimes erratic, and you seem unsure of when you should be getting back on throttle. The answer is, wait until you get to the apex, and then throttle out. You'll know you are not right if you have to lift again, then get back on again. All that see-sawing is costing you time. And you are missing a lot of apexes in the process, which is also costing you time. You also lifted for that first right of the third sector, you can take it flat.

But I suggest you work on getting confident with managing braking points, getting the car to the apex, and throttle on point. It's basic technique that will follow you to every track, and will do more to help your driving than any one tip for one turn on one combo. Recommend practicing in a low powered car (maybe this one?) at Tsukuba. If you can manage apexes at Tsukuba, you can do it anywhere.

Tree'd. I was gonna mention that the file should be unzipped into the SAVEDATA folder.

Your lines are all pretty good, you struggle with the smoothness of your inputs. Looks like you use a controller, and so I personally don't have much advice to offer, other than to say that we have a lot of fast controller drivers on here, and you might want to hit them up for advice on button mapping. For example, if you are still using buttons like X and square for gas and brake, the "shoulder" buttons like L2/R2 may work better for you. Steering inputs are even more jerky, and @ItsAllAboutWins was exactly the opposite on his lap with a pad. You might want to hit him up and find out what he does. 👍

Ah, ok, that makes sense. I was doing it with a newly formatted flash drive with nothing on it. What do you mean named properly though?

Sometimes people make up names for the files they are uploading, and post a higher level in the hierarchy than the replay itself. Just make sure it's a non-zipped folder that starts with BCJS....

You still working on finding a gotcha pic in my replay, Mr. Jailed Pepper?

Naw. I figure rubble of tarmac is still tarmac and everything else is clean also. That's the only spot I think you may have lost a tic having to climb and bounce your way out. The rest of the lap looked pretty good hitting all the apexes
except in turn one. I think you turned into the turn too soon and it caused you to wash up and out. But it didn't cost you too much time. At least not enough to put you into 2nd. Overall great lap.

And I am still awaiting your analysis of my lap mate.

To add/clarify what Kevin said, the proper replay folder is BCJS37016-RPLYXXX (with the XXX a 3-digit number matching the one found in the param.sfo file).

I'll let those who know what they were doing on this track do the replay-checking this week. Even if I were bold enough to ask for an analysis of my replay, I'm too inconsistently bad on this track to apply any recommendations. Strangely enough, the one part where I felt I really screwed up was the one part I was fast in.

Congrats to all. Learnt a bunch this week - never gone well at this track, mainly due to the hairpins. Turns out this week it was the last turn that was my undoing. Some amazing times out there

Thanks to Lucas and Kevin for another great event.

4 wheels off on the right side of turn 4. Please check your replays more carefully, this was not even close.

This track is like that. Like in turn two, you would think delaying the input to straighten out the exit would be the quick way through and it feels quicker. But hug the inside line through it, feel like your crawling, hit the throtle at exit and watch your ghost disapear behind you. I find this track is alot like Tsukuba in that if you follow the texbook rules with brake early, brake once, hit the apex and throttle out you'll do fine.
