Anyone elses GT6 froze after they updated to 1.02?

I was going to update tomorrow but seems it still hasnt fixed the crashing or freezing in gt6.. I can't believe I paid $60 and cant even play the game. PD and sony should be ashamed of the products being sold by their company. hope it gets fix as I have note even completed the firat race as it crashes starting it.
 
i did yesterdays small update and it froze my fat PS3 again same as day before!
anyone got any ideas why? is it the bl**dy intro movie?

dont think its the intro movie, i've disabled it and I got the black screen after the updates. I'd be interested to know if any slim owners are getting this, or if its just us fatties?
 
It happened on 1.02 and today's mini update for me. Had a corrupt save after it happened first time, lost a day's play after using the backup save.

I have also lost all my anniversary cars from the Stockyard. :mad::mad::mad:

I really don't want to have to update again. :nervous:
 
Hello, while I did not go through here , but today I take to let you know my discontent and EOL community ( elotrolado.net ) after this update v1.02 for GT6 .

Many of us , after upgrading to 1.02 has been us black screen and frozen PS3 having to force shutdown of the PS3.

After forced off, when you turn the PS3 has left us with the message that we report errors produced Sony and retry disk data .

To say that in my case the PS3 will stay in a loop after retry the disc which does not let me access the XMB menu .

For those who pass say I could fix this error by removing the disc to the PS3, format it on the PC and restore the PS3 system .

This has been an embarrassment since day one and has many people I will also lock the v.1.01 .

As I was unable to investigate and after read you is that no matter where people have done the Glith or not, having the physical or digital version of the game , that 's a PS3 Fat , Slim or SuperSlim .

Also tell you that all these faults are not produced by the 1.01 or 1.02 database updates if not for the small updates that go right after ( those that weigh little) . It 's when right after install, completely freezes the image and PS3.

This is not good for our PS3 and we must do something in view of Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi crooked teeth does nothing for us.

I intendo get in touch by email to send some my complaint to Polyphony Digital and have not found anything I have, other airlines if they have a support email. If anyone knows tell me.

Not to mention that you also have to comment on the social networks of the game so to reflect our complaint.
 
I tried to email sony but it just gives me a number and they tell me my ps3 is over heating when clearly it is not -_- they wanted to buy a new console
 
I faced this issue once but not during the 1.2 Gb download. After this was downloaded & installed, I was promted twice for 2 updates t be installed.

After the 2nd update was installed, it hung. I manually reset the game but after that no issues.

I wonder if there are various reasons for people facing different issues or not.

I have a slim and I both had the endless 'stuck on the warning screen' after the first mini update after 1.02 and the black screen crash after the one after. GT6 has been the only game to ever cause my ps3 to crash or hang in any sort of way.

Mine did, just went to a black screen. Had to hard reset the PS3 then it came up and checked my files to make sure nothing was corrupted. Worked the second time though.

Yup. only game to crash my ps3 too. I'm thinking it's the game for all of us. unless this is an evil scheme by Sony to get us to buy another ps3 too get more money off us 0.0

I have a PS3 Slim and my GT6 started freezing today at the warning screen for epilepsy. If I do hard reset I still get stuck at the screen! The game has probably froze on me on about 8 different occasion but after a reset it would always work. So now what???

that happened to me in 1.01, I had to delete my save to get it to work again :(
 
I had it beep 3 times on exit twice now, First with a 1.01 update and now with a 1.02 update. Just the one time though. After a reboot it worked. So probably just too many things trying to do at once.

I trend to go your way, as my ps3 did give me three beeps and shut itself down, when i completed the 1.02 update, but I wanted to shut the unit down anyhow as i was busy at the time. I powered the ps3 later on did the file checkup and I'm ok since.

But, i will say that reading all the threads out here about issues, most of them are being reported by people who made some modifications to their units. Maybe this is what happens when we temper a bit too much with our machines...
 
Mine did, thought it seems to do this often and require a file system check, everytime I cringe and worry for my precious save data. Guess I should really back it up eh?

Thing is that I kept "pausing" the game to check trophies on which ones I need and which ones I was trying to get. I think it was because I was doing too much other things while playing the game frozed it.

I don't modify my console. All I did was upgraded the HDD like about 2 or 3 years ago and I still have the same fat 80gb paste and fan and everything else.
 
I left GT6 overnight for patch download, picked it up at 4:30am-ish, downloaded and set up another patch and then yeah, black screen, with PS button not responding. Have not powered it on yet again, I want to leave it cool first. :indiff:
 
- Got GT6 for Christmas. :D
- Put the Blu-Ray in,
- Declined the V1.02 updates.
- Played the original intro movie for the first time.
- Did the round Brand Hatch.
- Saved and Exit the game.
- Update to V1.02
- Waited about 1h30 for the download and install
- Once Installation is complete, i wait for the game to start (1am)...

... Black Screen...

Continue to wait for 10 mins or so with the Black Screen
touch the controller with no responses, many attemps to get some click... but no sign of life...

Reboot System ):-(

Now it's working ok

Mine is a fatty...

- New (2 months ago) 500GB Slim
- Hard copy/disc version, not digital
- Haven't ever taken advantage of any glitches, e.g. 20m credit glitch etc.

If I remember correctly, I downloaded and installed 1.02 with no problems - I'm pretty sure that it was actually the in-game mini update that black-screened me, like others have mentioned.
Left it for around 10 minutes to see if it'd recover itself, but no joy and controller was non-responsive.
Reset with the console's power button, got the 'check for corrupted data' message etc and everything seemed ok, but I've not had chance to check for problems (somebody mentioned some paint and wheel preview camera angles are no longer working for them), but after a couple of free runs and some photo taking it appears to be ok so far - I just really hope that there's no nasty surprises that I'm not aware of lying in wait around the corner!

FF to today: , GT6 v1.02 (hosted room online, (450pp HighSpeedRing, just for getting aquainted with new friend , joins, BAM, YLOD/RLOD, PS3 SSD FAT dies on me today)

I busted open my PS3 fat cover and removed the stuck disc from the bluray .

(my old FAT doesn't eject it no matter what, so I got my large toolbox out)

this unit has more screws than my old '79 BMW 320i steering column / dashboard.

looking to buy a new PS3 slim tonight. EB Games shut the door on me 3 minutes to closing, their loss! (actually, it's my loss)

(slapped on the unit together loosely, and PS3 still dead with no disc inside. CPU overheat or PS capacitor fried. ambient temp tonight is -32C outside.

I think the problems is the game, not your unit...

This is getting 🤬 ridiculous.
2 attempts, 2 crashes and file checks. 🤬:mad:
It won't even let me download the update this time. 🤬:banghead:
Just after I press OK I hear 3 beeps from the PS3 then it reboots. 🤬:mad:

I'm not trying again until I hear this is fixed. 🤬:boggled:
 
Tried to start up GT6 2 times in a row now. It always freezes on the loading screen with the warnings etc... System crashes, needs to reboot, report needs to be sent to sony and the HDD needs to be checked for corrupt files.

What can I do?

Apparantly removing the disc and inserting it again worked.
 
Had these problems at release so sold the game. Bought it again today an I got the same thing, after the last file system check after hard reset my BR drive has apparently died... I hate GT6.

I'd like to add I didn't have a single issue with my ps3 between selling my first gt6 copy and now. PS4 40gb fat. Stinks

I'm pretty much giving up on the Gran Turismo series now GT5 is being shut down. So many lies about features, bugs galore and is actually destroying systems. Wish the Xbox720 wasn't such a pos I'd switch to Forza.
