With the long awaited updates that include a photo mode and replay mode due on the 28th of November, I thought it time to start a thread for those inbound photo mode shots and clips.

These are some screen crops pre-photo mode, so I think we can expect some fun shots, especially considering the recent clips posted by the devs Saber Porto that are definitely using the replay angles. Anyway, fingers crossed and let's get dusty!

Still early days in getting to grips with this photo mode but it doesn't seem to be fully functional, or consistent. I'm hoping that it's just me being over-tired and not seeing what I should be doing but so far I've found no DoF settings or shutter speed options. If it's not me, I do hope that further work will come as there is so much potential here ;)

It's quite basic really but surprising what can be done with it. I've put a request in for the option to select focal distances. Hopefully they'll be able to add that. When livery customisation comes, it'll look a lot better too :)

EDIT: focus is there, just cunningly hidden :) On the PS5 it's hold triangle and use the left thumbstick to change the focal point.

Took a bit of getting used to, working around the constraints with this photo mode, though with such a basic level of options, I'm not sure that the term photo mode should apply considering it's about as basic as the on in DiRT 2 back in 2009. Having said that, it is possible to get some decent pictures. I put a few support tickets in today now that I've had a few days to play around with it all, including suggestions for photo mode improvements.

EDIT: Seems I missed DoF and tilt options as they were unconventionall hidden.
To do the DoF, hold triangle and move the left analogue stick either up or down to focus it on what you want focused upon.
To tilt, click in and hold in left analogue and move right analogue left or right. Credit A geek named Mike on Twitter

I'm quite glad now that my game save got corrupted after I completed the game way back at the beginning (bug fixed now, so all is good) so now I can redo rallies I might not have gone back to do :)

This game deserves so much more love than it is actually getting. Looks good, played superb, excellent gameplay and now photomode and replay. Really Big heads up for this studio's énergie and tireless efforts 👍

Graphicswise this puts EA rally effort to shame and that is a currentgen title only.

Really? I had hoped with EA in control, they'd have improved the mess that Codies were making of any photo mode with their insistence on sticking with that appropriately named Ego game engine of theirs.

Fully agree that Dakar deserves far more love

Eye of the beholder, I think WRC looks fantastic personally.

I might have to revisit Dakar though, it was an absolute mess when I first played it at launch, looks like it has come a long way.

There have been some improvements alright, handling changes, pacing and AI behaviour as well as extra vehicles and a few new events. Always worth a send look :)
 
I definitely prefer this game's photo mode options to that of The Crew Motorfest - both are good games but getting decent shots from this with kick-up is far easier. Having said that, Motorfest wins hands down on ocean and sky shots :)
