Hello,

My name is grantimus_prime and I have taken a bit of a hiatus from the Gran Turismo series. The last one I played was GT2 and I just recently bought GT6. I enjoy cars and have always wanted to delve into the world of car tuning. I don't know much about tuning in the real world, so these set-ups are based around in game performance. I wouldn't say I'm a great driver yet so some of my set-ups might be a little basic and beginner friendly, but I hope you enjoy them. I'm a novice at this, so feedback will be received! I try to squeeze every last pony out of each car, especially common and classic cars, and tune most of my cars to the max to see how they stack up against super cars.

I do my base tuning on Autodromo Nazionale Monza with Chicanes and fine tune on Suzuka Circuit

This car works well all the way down to Sports Hard Tires and has very little tire wear. I'm Sure there is still some fine tuning left to do on this ride, so offer up any suggestions if you have them!

If the car is unstable under braking, I would look at your brake and suspension settings. Try 6/4 on the brakes and if that doesn't cure the braking instability you're going to have to rework your suspension some. I'm not sure why you chose 0/0 for your toe settings, I assume to help cure understeer, but perhaps try -5/15 and see if that doesn't simultaneously keep the back more stable while still giving you a sharp turn-in. If the car doesn't seem to want to rotate with those settings, especially in tight corners, I'd maybe try a somewhat stiffer rear spring setting, and then play with dampers some. There are many theories on setups, and several guides can be found linked on the Tune Directory site, but ultimately it's about taking those theories and just keeping them in mind while you play with the settings to see what makes each tune feel balanced. Some people will drive faster with an unbalanced tune, but the vast majority of drivers will see their best lap times with a well balanced tune. I hope I answered your question, and keep on tuning!

Overall Good Driving Car - Engine response is a little delayed but i have it that way because i tend to punch it out of corners. Corners nicely but takes a little to caox it into a turn (try tapping the brakes before a turn to shift the weight forward. Car is tough to spin out but too many lateral g's and accelarating too early will get the best of you!

Car Drives very well on tracks with a lot of turns due to its high speed cornering abilities. The car has good acceleration to about 85 mph. After that, the acceleration slows down and higher powered cars will eat you up! For a car under 500 PP though it sure kicks some butt!

First off, I wish that they had actual off-road racing trucks on this game like TRD Trucks and such, but this tune put this truck into beast mode on the rally circuit! It runs 4:00 lap times on Eiger Nordwand - K Trail on a consistent basis. I also have a road racing tune for this truck that is pretty stellar, too (see next Post)!

The best part about this truck is that if any of those little tiny rally cars get in the path of this beast is that you can "Ram" them...bad joke...

This truck is a blast to drive! It actually corners exceptionally well and does not over-steer unless you really hammer the gas in an extremely high g turn. The acceleration is great and the braking is actually really good considering the vehicle weight! I recommend this beast to anyone trying the international B races which has an added emphasis on American made vehicles, especially considering how much better it handles than most of the muscle cars.

Talk about quick! This car is a jack rabbit! Put this car on a track without a long straight section and you can really do some damage! It's really light so be sure to avoid other cars that can push you off the racing line. The car pictured doesn't have a racing spoiler like the one in the game. This car runs about a 1:52 on autodromo nazionale monza.

Pure Muscle Performance! This car handles much better than just about every car falling under the muscle car category and has stable acceleration that allows you to put the hammer down coming out of corners. Just a heads up that this car has extremely good braking distance so the red braking on the driving line doesnt necessarily hold true for this car. Does well in the classic supercar races and against similar PP cars. Ran lap times around 1:45 on autodrome nazionale monza with it.

This car does well in 500 PP Races, not suited fro races past international b and international b is even a bit of a stretch. It has extremely smooth handling but it just doesn't have the ponies and is a little too heavy for the higher level races. Great car for a beginner in the game. If its purchased early on it can be your go to car for a lot of the early races. It owned the german car races on the lower levels with this set up. I just used the power limiter to get it under the pp requirements. Got this as a prize car, and the car is pretty solid. Nothing about this car really blew me away. It does good at everything but it doesnt do great at anything. I ran a 1:55 lap time on autodrome nazionale with it using sports tires. It could probably do a lot better if i used racing hard tires. Good car for the lower level mid to rear challenges, but other than that race, I havent used this car much.

This car was my go to car for most of the game. IMO, it one of the better all around cars in the game and can be entered into a lot of races. It has a nice power band and handles really well. I have a lot of miles and victories with this car. I used this car on some international b races and was surprised by how well it did. As long as there are not a lot of really long straights this car will do well in the higher level races. It's acceleration and cornering ability will allow you to keep up with the higher powered cars that can only catch you on long straightaways.

This car reminds of the batmobile haha. Its insanely quick and, with these settings, handles very well. I was able to tame the beast and run lap times of 1:42 on autodrome nazionale monza with this set up. Enjoy!

I was about ready to give up on this tune until i messed with the ballast. The end result is a much better handling car that is a lot more balanced during acceleration and braking. Enjoy!

"The Black Cat" Jaguar XKR-S '11

This car is really just a more expensive version of the Mustang Boss 302. It handles pretty much the same and even has similar PP and power. I notice that it does have a little bit better gearing but i find the mustang boss 302 is more fun to drive and has a better sound to it. Dont get me wrong, this car is a blast to drive and runs 1:45 or better on autodrome nazionale monza! The car is a freebie and definitely worth testing out!

I did enjouy this car, but you can get a similar driving experience from a fully tuned mustang boss 302 for less money. Good all around car, though

Dude that amemiya setup is just amazing!!

If you like that setup, try out the light car rocket tune and the jaguar xkr-s setting...they both have similar cornering abilities and are great all around cars. between those three cars you should be able to beat every race in international a with the exception of the like the wind series

I will try them out! Can you do a Toyota Supra RZ '97 setup? I dont know if you do request though, if so the Supra and a RX7 tpye RZ (FD) '00

I'll take a peek at them. I have a somewhat busy week so it might be a bit. Check back this weekend and if i dont have it up then just hit me up with another reminder

Okay man many many thanks!
got a tune for both the rx7 rz and the toyota supra rz models you requested. The rx7 rz is quite a bit more cooperative on the road courses and the supra does fairly well on high speed courses because of the higher horsepower. I was hitting 240 with the supra rz when testing the top speed after some transmission mods and the rx7 rz ran good lap times on every course i tested. will be posting them tmw sometime

Mazda RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '00

I really like tuning any RX-7. They have such god handling and an engine that never seems to quit! Maybe not the best for high speed circuits, but a great choice for most courses. When fully modified this car has a better statline than the RE Amemiya RX-7. I run lap times under 1:45 on my test course, Autodrome Nazionale Monza with the setup below. The high speed cornering ability of this car is awesome!

Good all around car...Cornering is not as sharp as id like it to be. It has a bit of an under steer issue, but still runs 1:45 on autodrome nazionale monza and this car really held its own when i put it in the like the wind series.

I'd say that I am about 95 percent satisfied with this tune...It could be that my driving style doesnt bode well with this car (I'm not much of a supra guy). It has a lot of torque and has a tendency to understeer on high speed corners and when i adjust the car to handle that portion well it spins out during corner exits. This car does have a great top speed though!

Is the rear toe on the Boss Mustang really 0.77? I haven't had a chance to try that tune yet, but when I tuned the Boss I had similar values as yours but couldn't get the damn thing to turn unless my rear toe was less than 0.15. Just curious, I'll try your Boss tune tonight to see if there's something I missed.
