I'm a bit surprised they didn't write these off as a failed experiment to be honest because whilst they're great fun for the 500 people that attend them - there's only ~2000 people that tune in to watch them.

The live events had a lot of potential, but I feel like they always fell a bit short on expectations.

It also sounded like the events weren’t always the best experiences for the drivers. I hope they’ve at least made some improvements for their sake. One person’s account of an event in Japan sounded like the worst business trip.

I know a few people are itching to have this argument, but there’s probably a few venues that are a lot cheaper than Monaco. I don’t see the allure of going there if it’s not part of an F1 weekend. At least add that track back first before holding an event there (but don’t actually cause racing sucks there).

I really liked watching the live events so seeing them return is good news. Especially if it previews new content.
