The last good update was when Grand Valley was added, everything since has been very poor and lacking in anything substantial or interesting.
That could not be futher from the truth, the best update so far we got was in november last year with spec ll update. Easily the best update gt7 has ever got. Even better than the vr update,

Not only did we get best selection of cars in any update so far, with strong selections like
Dodge challanger demon
Lexus lfa
Porsche 911 gt3 rs 992, and other requested cars by the community,

Snow track witch added varity to,the track lineup.

The single player content was also the best of any update,

Weekly challanges and master licences.

Other bigger quality of life improvments,

Its pretty clear that spec ll update was gt7 best update to date,
And doubt it will ever be topped.

And what only a few good additions for you might be different from everyone else
At least 10 of the cars added last year was good additions.

My Guess for a May update is

Track = Gilles Villeneuve (Canada)
Gilles Villeneuve Circuit (Canada).jpg

The Car Statistics are? (Based on 76 cars)

1.3% = Czech
1.3% = Korean
3.9% = French
3.9% = UK
13.0% = Italian
14.3% = USA
18.2% = German
44.1% = Japanese

Car Models
6.6% = Returning Premiums
15.8% = Returning Standards
77.6% = New to Series

Top 5 Possible Manufacturers
9.2% = Nissan
9.2% = Porsche
7.9% = Toyota
6.5% = Suzuki
5.2% = Chevrolet

Based on 3/4 cars per update, 2/3 cars are to be New to Series, with almost 1/2 of them being Japanese. Strongly suggesting that at least 1 car will be from Nissan, Porsche or Toyota.

  • HPA Motorsports FT565 Twin-Turbo Audi TT, 2007 (Canadian car to go with circuit)
  • Lamborghini Diablo GT2, 1998
  • Porsche 911 GT2 Evo, 1997
  • Toyota Celica 1600GT, 1970

As I like the guessing game a lot, my turn for the prediction of this month:

Genesis VGT (Gr.1)
The car appeared in data at the same time as Afeela and Skoda, so it makes sense that it is ready to come to the game, probably they didn't want to risk a 3 VGT update, also considering there needed to be highlight on one partner and thus Genesis couldn't be in since they are partners as well, so they shoehorned Afeela in it and added a much requested Chevelle to sugarcoat it.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV
With how much they are pushing on Urus, I could well see another suv coming in game to have special events centered around the duel and they already have Stelvio's sound (from Giulia AM), so it looks natural to me as an inclusion.

Skoda Fabia PJ
It only makes sense for Skoda to push more of their cars in the game and use it as marketing platform, and this is actually a car that would benefit from marketing in game (considering age demographics of people playing videogames, it probably targets people looking to buy their first car, so a Fabia makes more sense than an Urus as marketing inclusion, right?). It uses engines from the Polo, so recording should already be in game.

Events:
Gr.1 Prototype series on Le Mans, Nurburgring or Spa
European clubman cup 600 at Lake Louise
European Sunday Cup 400 at Nurburgring Sprint (even though low paying events are not as common to be added in further updates, there is little else to fit the Fabia in)

Menu books:
a new bonus menu focused on XJ220, F40 and Diablo (I'll keep predicting it until it eventually gets added 😂 ) gifting a 6 star ticket
or
a muscle car/nascar/US racing bonus menu focused on idk, Chevelle, charger and Superbird? (I have little knowledge of iUS domestic racing, so please don't roast me for what I eventually said wrong)

This coming Oct/Nov has the potential to be a double whammy - a tech update with PS5 Pro support - plus a Spec III to sign off support with.

Well, that's what I'd be planning if I wanted to make a splash with new hardware. Particularly if GT7 is one of the showcase titles for PS5 Pro.

I agree i also think in october or november will be a larger update
Like you said. Makes sense to celebrate the launch of ps5 pro.

There is already a GR Yaris in the game (2020 model). What would be the point of them doing so, even with the 2019/2020 GR Supra precedent?
The new GR Yaris is a pretty special car that improves significantly on the original. It would be cool to see a new model like this alongside a 4WD classic like the 323 GT-R, Escort RS Cosworth or Sunny GTI-R.

Some highlights since the update with grand valley:
  • Toyota GT-One (TS020) '99
  • Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupé '70
  • Suzuki Jimny XC '18
  • Dodge Charger R/T 426 Hemi '68
  • Dodge Challenger SRT Demon '18
  • Lexus LFA '10
  • Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II '91
  • NISMO 400R '95
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) '22
  • Garage RCR Civic
  • Honda Civic Type R (FL5) '22
  • MAZDA3 Gr.4
  • Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '58
  • Maserati MC20 '20
  • Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition '22
  • Aston Martin Valkyrie '21
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR '95
  • Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi '04
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce '67
  • Jaguar XJ220 '92
  • Mercedes-AMG GT3 '20
  • Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM '19
  • Porsche 959 '87
  • Porsche Carrera GTS (904) '64

Clearly we've lacked quality content since the Grand Valley update...
The Spec 2.0 update was very solid, tho

SBX
Next could possibly be TOYOTA's [/inc. whatevz this circuit iz]
CGI doesn't look it was done fully-rendered or using proprietary game engines; Unreal Engine 5, other than... Yep.
That timing tower looks American to me and it doesn't look like anything Italian/Spanish

or it's just Suzuka
