The O'Brien Trophy was hoisted by a team that never made it to the NBA Finals or never held it at all. The Denver Nuggets proved they were miles high above their competition when they defeated the Miami Heat in 5 games. The Mile High City celebrated their championship triumph and got the smoke to bring into next season.
However... that was LAST season. We now welcome a new season of NBA basketball. Denver is not guaranteed to be back-to-back champs. Weak sauce teams aren't going to be weak again.
