I only own the Sauber C9 - just bought it today, in the hopes it'll potentially be better for the Gr.1 races than my Audi R18 TDI '11 - but I'd say my favorite Group C racer that isn't the 787B is the Nissan. I just like the way it looks.

As for my favorite Group C car that isn't in GT yet - but I think would be a likely addition - I'd say the Toyota TS010, as it'd compliment the other Gr.1 Toyotas perfectly. Especially if they end up adding the TS020. But it'd also be part of the Group C era that we seem to get the most cars for in GT, being mostly the late 80s/early 90s era. Not to say the 88C-V couldn't return - as it is indeed from the late 80s - but I just feel that the TS010 would be far more appropriate, especially with the recent addition of the GR010.

The un-raced Alfa Romeo SE 048SP would be great, too, especially to give Alfa Romeo a Gr.1 car.

I mean, either of these would certainly be more likely than the Group C racers from Lancia or Lamborghini, which came in the early 80s. And on that note, I hope a good chunk of GTP/LMH cars come to GT, as it'd both give Gr.1 representation to automakers like Lamborghini, Acura, Cadillac, BMW, and Ferrari - as well as Lexus and McLaren, potentially - but also to automakers that could use a more updated Gr.1 car, like for Porsche or Alpine. On that note, I'm really hoping the GM Design VGT is both still active, and ends up being a hypothetical Gr.1 version of the C8 Corvette.
I do think we’ll get a whole host of Hypercars because many are produced by major manufacturers. PD don’t really model many of the specialist constructors seen in LMP1/2.

I could see Gr.1 becoming one of the mainstays of the Manufacturers Cup like Gr.3/4.

Personally, I have to say that Gr. C from the first half of the 90s were the most beautiful in the category. In addition to the Toyota, the Jaguar, Mazda and Mercedes were fantastic. This generation's rear spoiler is amazing and full of character.

Those cars are now restored and back on track racing in historics. So there are opportunities to scan and record them. I would hope all these 80’s & 90’s cars are coming to sims. Amazing to think some are 30+ years old!

Sure there's enough space, but I feel that having two Group C racers from the same automaker would be redundant. That is, unless there are notable differences, like how the Audi R18 TDI '11 is a diesel hybrid, whereas the 2016 one is an electric hybrid, but both were in the LMP1 class.
We used to have both the Nissan R89C and R92CP in past games with no issue and the 88C-V and TS010 are barely similar. Shouldn't be an issue.

Also this is Gran Turismo. We used to have every year of EG Civic, redundancy isn't a problem. :dopey:

I'm waiting for the R92CP to become available soon. I just got playing last month so still fairly new. Ive got the jag, 787b and the C9. So far the jags my favorite. Love the sound. People claim the 787 sips fuel but im not seeing much difference yet at sardegna. Plus that engine whine drives me nuts. Give me a deep throaty growl anytime over the high pitch screaming.

Mercedes C9, 8.9/10

Jaguar XJR9, 9.1/10

Mazda 787B, 9.5/10

Nissan R92CP 9/10

Porsche 962C 8.9/10

Overall my favorite is the 787B but the XJR9 has my favorite engine sound.
The jag does have good sound doesnt it? The 787b's sound is starting to get a bit annoying as I grind.

I've only heard the Jag and 787 so far. I'm waiting to get the c9 as I grind credits. I am looking forward to the R92cp coming back in the next week or two. I will likely buy all of these cars as they become available to ensure Ive got them.

Whats the reasonings for your ratings?

A coin-flip for me. I love 'em all. I have five of each for the Custom Races. They do some really wacky things at Monza, too.

The 905 ....ah wait...🤔

In that case I'll need to pick the V12 Jaguar because I have fond memories of that car with Lammers ✌️

It's gotta be everything, but I'm just a bit underwhelmed by the Porsche, simply because its default specs would mean it would not have the advantage of straight-line speed, and corners a little bit heavier than all the rest.

R92CP
Mazda 787

Nissan for his " brutal " power impression that gives you and Mazda for his " silent " killing efforts.
Also i think its the two top cars in that class in case of performance, fuel efficiency .
I have driven all of them at La Sarthe,, many times but those two have superior performance over the others.
Mazda has an annoying sound for some ,but unique and easy recognizable even with closed eyes .

On my second account, which only had 12M in the piggy bank, I bought the 787b because it’s the only car I know of that can win the Neo Classic race at Willow Springs and the Gr.1 Prototype race at Daytona on hard difficulty. The other Gr.C cars are good. I would say the Nissan is a close second to the 787b, but the fuel economy of the 787b puts it a step above.

I never got along with the Jag, the Porsche and especially the Sauber. Those sit in the garage collecting dust.

I've been running the 787, C9 and Niessaaan on Spa and the R92 is just one bloody party machine 🥳 Absolutely love how bonkers that car is. Activated the wobble cam and man, pure driving heaven.

Will pick up the Jaguar wenn it comes around since nothing beats a V10 or V12 NA ❤️

A 905 First Gen would be an ultimate bonus but won't happen 🤔🫣 ....yeah this isn't a wishlist....🤣

I have 2 R92CP cars, one detuned to grind and one bone stock. For me, nothing is as effortless as driving this car. It's just so good and connected. You feel everything. And that turbo. Nothing compares for me. I do enjoy the 787 but just not as much.

Should have made this a poll question post

Porsche 962 is my answer, with the Nissan R92CP a close second.

(Agree with the wish of the Minolta Toyota 88C-V '88 appearing)

Gamewise the Mazda is the best all around car, good handling, great fuel efficiency and great tire (no )wear. Not so great top speed, but nothing to be ashamed.

The other four are very good too, but not the same all around endurance speed as the Mazda.

1. Jaguar XJR-9 - The naturally aspirated V12, 7 litre monster taking the fight to the turbo masses.

2. Mazda 787B - Stunning sound, beautiful livery. It's a special car in so many ways. I'm just a tiny bit bored of it since it's been in Gran Turismo since GT3.

3. Porsche 962 - Not a particularly exciting car but has some amazing history like the almost total domination of Le Mans in the early to mid 80s. Plus Bellof's 6:11 at the Nordschleife etc. There's also so many liveries and different years you can emulate with this car.

4. Sauber C9. Sounds great and looks slick. Nice car but after all this time I want the seemingly forgotten Sauber C11 instead.

5. Nissan R92CP - A monster of a car but didn't prove itself against the top factory opposition as it only raced in the Japanese sportcar championship. Had some nasty accidents down the long straight at Fuji so perhaps it was best that it never did have the opportunity to enter Le Mans.

Whilst I love all of the Group C cars my favorite is the 962. I bought when it like 1.2 million cr and was surprised at bang for my bucks I have gotten out of it. For me it has been one of my fastest cars around LeSarthe and Sardegna. I love the handling and tire wear is pretty good. That said the 787b and the Nissan have always been fabs of mine. The Sauber has always been absurdly fast but I didn't always know how to tune it properly. The Jag in previous games drive like a boat but in GT7 I have been able to really het it dialed in and i have really appreciate it and love it
