Daily Driver Impact on GT4

Miss my SR20 Sunny from GT2. :(

Would be nice if they'd put in the Mazda
MP3... although since I got the car, I've stopped playing GT3 :p

Can someone please tip over that cow in Code_kev's Avatar? Come on, detention recipients of middle schools across America. Tip that cow over! I'll make you honorary GTPlanet members!

I know you love ruining ANY positive momentum I have with a thread or a post, or further disgrace me with any negative momentum. But let's be serious here. Let me clarify the logic behind this thread in case anyone is too dumb or sarcastic to know why. The logic behind this thread is to talk about the impact of having a daily driver in GT4. Gran Turismo 2 surely had 500+ cars, so almost anyone who may not own a truck or SUV has a chance to take a car from reality to virtual reality. Some people are actually happy about having the cars they drive and have them in the game. Look at all the sport compact tuners who own a Civic or a Tiburon and have played "Need for Speed: Underground" (by the way, NFS:U2 looks pretty sick (good)). Look at all the various car owners who like to show style with their cars in Project Gotam Racing 2. And what about the muscle car owners who played the failed "Motor City Online?" So there's no excuse to not feel as if you can't take your car into any game. Whether the game is good or bad, having a car that you drive in real life and being represented is quite a great feeling. The same can be said about Gran Turismo Concept even though concepts are not meant for sale. I read about people hating on concept cars, saying that they are ugly and all, but hell. The final model is ultimately a car you can drive.

To make a long story short, there are people who love seeing their daily drivers in Gran Turismo. And this topic is all about that. To continue the emphasis of "please consider people other than yourself," I felt it was my duty not only as a GTPlanet member, but also a volunteer, to come up with this topic. Some people take this daily driver deal to heart. So I wanted to take this into consideration. You have any contributrions? Continue discussion.

Also, I don't know if you are a Filipino or a Filipina, but welcome to GTPlanet, my Phillipines representative Niky.

Its not like it ain't a topic that ain't been discussed before John. Just think of all the wishlists, 'Oh I wish my XXXX was in GT4 that would be great!' etc...

Can't say I'm a great fan of bumping threads (like you seem to do every week or so) often adding little to them yourself. If I remember correctly I've created 2 threads of GTP  If people want to talk about 'One of your 'topics' ' hopefully they'll use the built in search function. Doesn't need you bumping em every time it goes off the first page ;)

I really would rather see another LMP or group B rally car than my red saturn wagon (oh yeah the red does make it faster :sly: ).

I'm looking forward to GT4... as I'm planning to get my girlfriend involved in playing... and this will be helped by the fact that her last two cars are in the game... VW classic Beetle and the Cappuccino (Present car)...

I can't wait to see how much we can tune these little beasties up into something special... A lot of "Cuppa" owners uprate their brakes, wheel and turbo's to increase the performance of the car... so it would be good to do in real life... and also we'll probs sell the car in about a years time... so if it performs well in GT4... the price might go up (Or at least more people will know what the hell it is!!)

C.

I used to have a Cappuccino and really looked forward to driving it in GT4:P but it was very dissapointing as it didn't drive anything like the standard car does in real life...... the GT4:P Cappuccino is much slower than the real thing 👎

Its still good to be able to have cars you've owned or driven in your GT4 garage and I hope that the full tuning options will make some of my past cars feel more real in the final version of the game.

Luckily my current car is in GT4 as well (S2000) but I'm not sure if my next will be (either the new Porsche 987 Boxster S or the Merc SLK55 AMG)

I've allways wanted an s2000, but considering that I'm a 20 year old poor student, who passed his test about a month ago...I think I have a bit of a wait ;)

I have to own this book

I think this car would suit T5-R quite well :D

:( That book has the words crap cars & a picture of 2 Volvos, one I think off the top of my head is a Volvo 262C.

Mmmm Novvaaaahhh, wikkid I wud need some bigger wheels & neon washers. And y'know a baseball cap on backwaardz. I would also have to be very short since its a small car & some gimps filled half of the windscreen with a white stickaaah.

0-60 in oooooo 15/16 seconds. GOD DAMN THATS FAST, I can under stand why it needs all that crap on it, otherwise it would take off.

Yeah, I notice the volvos on the cover, why do you think I posted it ;). I'm gonna buy it :D

Now heres a question, which would you be more embarrassed in, a Pink Trabant or that Nova?

Pff even if they say crap cars, atleast its a reliable car ;)

Edit:  at website description PRE-ORDER NOW! Be one of the first to own Crap Cars.

I think the worst game for effecting my driving is that damm GTA Vice City! Driving at night is the worst. When I see the glow of a petrol station or the lights of a club, I feel the need to mount the pavement, and look for good jumps

But I have just realised that the feedback on my DF Pro is actually better than the feedback I get from the power steering in my real car!
After a long session on my DFP I thought the steering was broken on my car. ;)

My car has really really light power steering, you can take a high speed corner with one finger......it actually feels like it has not force feedback at all!

eventhough the DFP gives you a real force feel (obiviously corsa sxi's arnt real!) I don't like the shifter being on the right hand side......uk is left and its annoying me swtiching from real to GT4 driving.

I'd love to see my '89 Integra in the game but I'm not getting my hopes up though. Ironically, the Integra has appeared in all 3 GTs but they've only featured the last generation ones.

Yeah I was driving down a road shortly after purchasing GTA3 and I saw a nice oppurtunity to mount a high kerb get a nice roll on and getting a "cunning stunt" bonus!!!

Fortunately I realised that I was in a real car and not a GTA taxi (IMO the best stunting cars in GTA!)!!

My car is in GT2 👍

And sort of in GT3... I have an Nissan Skyline HNR32 GTS-4, and GT3 has an HCR32 GTS-t, which is my car, with the 4WD removed :D

Hopefully it'll be in GT4, but I have a spare engine in reality that I am building anyhow, so I can play the real tuning game! (Tis my job anyway :) )
