Ok erm here's my entry:

2002 MG ZS 120+

Pros:
- Fairly Cheap
- Has a good engine note, with one fo those weird golf ball style exhausts.
- Stiffened chasis, stiffened suspension with double wishbone front and multi link rear, roll bars all round.
- A good drivers car, sticks to the road like glue and loves corners.
- Practically, plenty of room for 5 adults and as a hatchback ideal for transporting stuff around.
- Enough mod cons to make things comfortable, not too many to confuse me with too many buttons.
- It's Brittish, and the last remaing British Mass car manufacturer.
- Small children like the way it looks, and always says "Nice car Mister" :P
- 0-60 in 9 is ok for driving round town, 125mph tops is good enough for motorway driving and still returns 35-38mpg.

Cons:
- It hasn't been without problems, nothing majoy but enough silly little things to get annoying.
- Everyone takes the pi55 out of it being a rover :(
- Stiffened suspension, chasis make it a rough ride on poor road surfaces.
- Use of cheap alluminium heatshields means it can rattle at certain revs.
- Getting it in reverse is a Zen art.
- Clutch pedal is located somewhere between my chest and my chin.
- It's depreciated like a brick.
- Based on the rover 400, it can look a bit dated inside.
- K series engine has been known to blow Head Gaskets
- At the ideal seating position for my driving i can't see the speedo, if i sit where i can see the speedo the steering wheel is too far away.
- Brakes have bad play, they work well when you press them hard but you have to push your foot 3 miles forward to make them work.

Pics of it for anyone interested:

WOW! Schtopper, as the owner of the (arguably) nicest car in the C3, I've got to say I'm amazed that our club has wannabe's!!! I think everyone else in our club either was given a car they would never choose or got stuck with something they DID want at one time, but years ago lost the thrill. Are you REALLY complaining about that sport tuned susp. being a little rough? Is there ANYTHING, anything at all, in fact broken on your car? I mean, that looks like a pretty cool car, and everything seems to work fine and stuff, right? Man, I don't think you've got a snowball's chance!

The car is too new and has no major mechanical or reliability issues

ok here's the list so far, i've owned it a year and it's been to the dealers once every month since then.

1: Split heatsheild, creating a bad rattle at 2500rpm. Has been replaced three times so far, keeps splitting.

2: Air con, started making a weird noise, had a valve replaced, then leaked within a few months and lost all pressure, was refilled and 'fixed', fix didn't erm fix it and is back in again for a pipe to be replaced.

3: Drive shaft seal seaped oil, drive shaft seal replaced, drive shaft dumped all it's oil on works car park floor, drive shaft replaced again.

4: Intermittant knocking noise, only came around when weight shifted in the car (acceleration, braking, cornering), found to be a bolt that had loosened on the front sub frame.

5: Alarm went nuts, going off every 3 to 4 hours. Was found to be a faulty door sensor.

6: Air con caused footwell to be 3 inch deep in water after porlonged use. Found to be a broken return condensation pipe.

7: heated wing mirrors stopped working, both elements found to be burnt out (after only 2 and half years).

8: Brakes went 'funny', system drained and re-filled, no fault found but brakes still don't feel right.

9: Electric drivers window stopped working, then started and pulled all the linning off the inside. Fixed that one myself

erm that's all i can remember so far off the top of my head.

I didn't know there was an age limit on the club, if there isn't then surely it's all relative, that has to be the crappest NEW car around surely?!

I'm not joking when i say it's been back to the garage at least once a month in the least 14 months.

I'd sell it but i'm tied by finance.

Have you read ANY of the other entries? Yours isn't even CLOSE to the crappiness we're looking for. Go home.

Nice, no need to get ****ty about it 'mate'. friendly place round here obviously.

WOW. I need to stop saying that. But WOW! It's all in the details, bro! Those are some compelling arguments! You're right--nothing major, but the regularity is astounding! You might want to start talking to the manufacturer about their Lemon buyback warranty (whether this was all covered under warranty or not). Never having owned a new car, I don't really know how it works, but most manufacturers have some kind of something in place for lemons, and I'd say yours would qualify!

In light of this new evidence, I'll reconsider. :)

I would like to personally apologize for that. I'm sure he didn't mean any real harm. If you posted the above issues first you would have easily have become a member. I'll see if I can get the others to change their mind, but I agree with you -- though the car is relatively new, it is has its fair share of problems.

And no, there are no age limitations on the cars. However, the newer the car is, the chances of something going wrong are less than a car that is older. I said it was too new because you didn't mention enough problems in the first post. :odd:

Another thing we consider is this:

If the car is relatively new, there is a possibility that if the car were well maintained by the owner, many of the trouble spots could have been prevented. That does not seem to be the case with you which is why I think you should become a member. 👍

heh ok cheers :) You're quite right i should have explained my reasons for why i thought it should be considered more clearly and extensively.

If this helps i would like to add that it's very well maintained, it has a full dealer service history, regular checks on coolant, oil, tyres etc are done every fortnight (before i drive to the girlfriends some 240miles away), and i do a mid year service myself (check brakes, change oil, oil filter etc).

Despite all this something new seems to brake and need fixing, it's got to the stage now where i almost plan a trip to the dealers on a monthly basis, we have a book running at work when it will be in next after i collect it this evening :)

💡 I bet if did the same thing, my T-Bird would actually run everyday instead of when it wants to! :dopey:

That's bad. That's very bad...

You can decide on which BEAST of a car you want to add to this great list.

11 sec 1/4
stock 9" out back
Stock C4 underfoot
Man does it sound mean.
All Wheel Disc brakes

Con's:

stock dull blue and Silver two tone paint scheme
Huge dent on the hood from a tree branch hitting it durring a storm on my way home
It's got the 1/2 azz Continental kit with the 5th wheel tire marker, but NO 5th wheel
When I bought it, tranny slipped like crazeh

This is what they look like (not mine)
80a03.jpg

OR!
You can choose my 1985 Creame cadillac seville

Pro's

Con's
4.1Liter v8 Beast with a 0-60 that would rival his Geo
missing rear passenger window
Body style looks like it got in an accident from the rear

Oh and the O-ring in the gas tank that seals all the fuel pump crap (in tank/ with no trunk access gotta drop the tank) is more than likely going out.....Gross gas smell.

What they look like (once again not mine)

1989 Honda Accord LX 4 Door, White.

Pros:
-CD Player
-Speakers
-A/C AND Heater
-Nice Interior
-Last a long time
-No Leaks
-Defroster works
-Has a kickass Adio sticker on the rear windshield
-Denso wires/spark plugs

Cons:
-320,000+ miles
-Leaks oil internally
-Transmisson shifts hard
-Brakes are grinding
-Still have Hubcaps
-0-60 = 11+ Seconds
-Tinted windows are bubbly/peeling
-Rear of car looks black sometimes from the smoke coming out of the exhaust
-Pulls to the right
-Idles high and can go 30MPh sometimes without using the gas. With no gas at all it goes 10-15MPH.

As far as the No-ricers rule, this definitely is NOT a ricer. For one: It's an Accord, Second: It's a 4-door :D

Well, if I had to guess I'd say that whether you're in or not is up to you--ie, it depends on how your BMW test drives are going. I think its supposed to be your primary car, so unless the wife (or GF) is getting the BMW and you're staying stuck with your honda, you might be outta luck.

Hey all, I'm bored while at work, so was browsing your forum.
you guys make me feel somewhat "proud" of my car. hehe... anyway, I don't know if you're running a contest or what not, but here's my "entry"

car: a Mazda 626 '94 V6
I drive this sucker everyday to school and work. everytime i get in, i pray before i drive. i never drive very far, only about 12 miles from my house max.
general rule is: you can drive it anywhere, as long as you have the strength to walk home. (just in case)

Cons:

  • 146,000 Miles

Paint is peeling, door is peeling, window's peeling, celing's peeling, what "isn't" peeling?

0-60 in ... uhmm wait, it can't go up to 60mph. it stops at 40! shakes at 30mph

Ceiling upholstrey held up by thumbtacks

right passenger door doesn't open, nor close. it's half way there. so whenever it rains, I'm snorkling in my car. don't even care to put trash back in there. did that several times, and the duct tape just "sealed" in with the paint. lol

driver door wasn't openning due to a crash, fixed that w/ a hammer!

no acceleration whatsoever; would probably lose a race with grandma on a wheel chair on a 100meter straight way

gets about 10 miles per gallon (~13 gallons tank, can drive about 100-150miles when full) and that cost $30 to fill the thing up!

hole in the back bumper (backed into a fire hydrant), dent/holes on the right side, left side of door, hole on the seat, hood, front bumper, hmm the only thing that isnt' "damaged" is the 2 back doors and the trunk.

engine stops when i put it in reverse!

the most expensive thing on the car is the new antifreeze container i just bought for $80 (for a freakin piece of molded plastic!)
wiper blade rust to a nice redish color; rubber on it is tearing off
    no AC/Heat

Pros

  • defroster works!
    power windows
radio works: well... for like 5 stations, the rest get static
doesn't need those car scent. i get a whip of gasoline every time i drive
Starts up everyday, well... "almost" everyday
    Comfy seats
doesn't need a vibrator for ur date; just get in and run the engine and let the good time rumble

the irony:
in a wreck 3 times since i owned it (3rd owner)
total times it'd been deemed as a "totaled" wrecked - 5
total times it "hit" another car or was hit: 9
# of times another car ran into my car while it was PARKED: 2 (that i know of)
one was made by a runaway convict. haha...

  • 3.6L V6, but unfortunately my wall clock produces more tourque than it. (haha! mine too!)
  • Comfy seats

Both sound pretty bad to me... :scared: Why do I get the feeling West Coast Customs will be showing up here soon?

Right now I'm driving a 1997 Ford Taurus, it just hit 100,000 miles.

PRO:
-CD player and speakers work well.
-It (usually) starts up without any trouble.
-Lots of space.

CON:
-The car needs to be running for at least 45 minutes before the heater really starts to work, until then, the car just blows out cold air.
-Passenger side door only opens from the inside.
- Big dent between the two doors on the passenger side from rolling the car down a hill.
- Big dent on the roof from rolling the car down a hill.
- Dent on the drivers side fender from some dumb ***** backing into me.
- Windows freeze shut anytime it's below 32F, won't go down at all until at least 30-40 minutes of driving the car around. This makes drive-thru windows and ATM machines a big pain in the ass in the winter.
- Cigarette lighter doesn't work.

How does an accord make it, but a windowless 85 lac not?
That accord has 320,000 miles...

Some disturbing news. We aren't the only C³ in town... [Link]

It relates somehow to this thread but Pimp mah Ride is da ****! I always love it!! I got my dad and sis to watch the other day! :D:tup:👍 hey... don't knock me I bet you watch reality shows... ha ha...

The car I had seemed way too nice to be in this club, but I'll give it a shot. ;)

Car: 2000 Daewoo Lanos S Hatchback (sold back in October when we moved back to NJ)

Pros:

-small size made it easy to park
-the steering was responsive
-only 47,400 mi when I first got the car
-had decent acceleration for a small 4 cyl engine hooked to an auto transmission
-suprisingly good amount of room inside for a subcompact car
-decent handling
-the AC blew extremely cold

Cons:

-despite having only 105 HP, the engine sucked gas like it was an alcoholic
-the gas gauge was the most inaccurate one I've ever seen; it constantly moved around while I was driving
-when the AC was on, the transmission would hang up in first for a few seconds after it got to 15 MPH, then it would shift extremely hard into second
-the brakes would squeal the first time I pressed on the brake pedal after the car had been sitting for any amount of time
-at around 55 MPH, the wind would blow through a small gap in the passenger's side window, creating a lot of noise; playing w/ the window crank handle would stop it however
-nothing was power except power steering/brakes *although that could be seen as a pro because that's less electronic crap to malfunction*
-no CD player, only AM/FM/cassette
-it's a Daewoo

It may be a Daewoo (that should be an automatic in) but us judges will be discussing whether it is crappy enough. So, are you still driving this car? Or have you gotten another one?

After seeing some of the cars in this club, such as Takumi's 240SX, I have to make a second plea to include my dad's '93 Explorer too (I drive it on a regular basis, so it's as close as I'll get to a daily driver for a few years).

Pros: - Excellent reliability (no major problems... so far)
- Selectable 4WD
- Great torque
- Easy to spin the rear tires
- Useful for towing
- Large cargo area

Cons: - 0-60 in ~20 seconds (It took 16 seconds to get to 80km/h with 100% throttle)
- 160hp V6 consumes tons of gas for it's pathetic performance
- 4 speed automatic transmission (likely a major source of the poor performance)
- Suspension is skittish, and feels like it's made out of mashed potatoes
- Very loud engine, most likely due to rusting somewhere along the exhaust system
- Rust is starting to form on the body in numerous places
- Interior is in poor condition (Dirty seats, cracks in plastic are numerous)
- A/C is broken
- Ignition requires fiddling around with the key so it can insert properly
- Drivers side door handle feels like it's going to stop working at any moment (the spring for it feels limp)
- Dent in rear hatch from collision with garage door
- Chip out of brakelight has not been fixed for years
- Windshield has never worked well with various windshield wipers (water does not wipe away cleanly)
- Rear window sprayer is broken
- New problems are starting to surface on a regular basis

If you can include an RX-7 cabrio, then this ****box certainly deserves a place in C³.

We sold the car back in October before moving back to Hell, USA. I don't have my own car currently but occasionaly drive my grandfather's '97 Ford Exploder.

First of all, don't knock Ford. They make the best cars in the world! Ummm, that's why I'm in the club. :dunce: :sly: j/k

Second of all, in order to get into the club, the car has to be your daily driver -- or at least driven on most days (like me, because my car does not work everyday  ).

Sorry, but I'm not sure if you'll be able to make it. :guilty:

Yay, I'm honored? to be in the Crappy Car Club :P

I just got new brake pads yesterday, I was kinda busy with GT4 the past few days.

okay...I finally found something that I can get into...I've had SIX crappys

currently
91 Taurus L
Pros
half decent 3.0 litre
the air conditioning still actually works!

cons
caps are peeled with old age
repainted at least twice
scratch and dent hood (bonnet)
stripped and broken headlight brackets
one headlight looks for earthworms, the other spots coons...in LOW beam (bulb is upsidown)
patches visible, with RIVETS!
gas tank seam leak
entire passenger door sill in rear is completly missing...was puttied
Sky Blue Metallic *rolls eyes*
stock radio with screwdriver pry out marks

and that's just the current. you should hear about the poor excuse for a Camry I had...I had to pull a dukes of Hazzard out of the passenger door if I put the window down!

oh...163k
