Thanks, btw, found a new 300 mph car today, the W12 👍

Went exactly 481.72 km/h ;)
...which is 299.3269 mph if we use the official 1,609344 km/h = 1 mph table...

No hard feelings, but this is exactly why Dark Elite wants us to use the mile display when doing the runs. Just give it a new try and take those missing tenths, you can do it!

sorry, but i won't have a verification and won't go on the leaderboard because my ps2 broke down:( and won't play gt4

OMFG!

For the very first time ever, I've brought my Supra over 300 mph

W00T! One question though:

I've used settings similar to the wheelie settings, but the none off the wheels didn't touch the track, so all 4 wheels were on the track at all time, now, is this allowable?

Yes, totally allowable. Infact, I think it's what most people do. As long as none of the wheels lift, then the setup is totally valid. 👍

Well done, were you using the 6.2 mile special, or just a normal second hand Supra RZ?

I think a newer one since it's got 904 HP 👍

I just had to add a wing, yeah, ugly but without one, you're dead in the big corners at 300 km/h. I just gotta say even with downforce, this beast is unstoppable

Best part is that around 303 mph, I topped out of gears so that means I could get at least a 305 mph run 👍

Perhaps I should re-highlight, in bold and large letters,

I now have a German exchange student living with me for a week, so please excuse a bit of absense from me while he's here.

This is a subtle hint, saying that you should not expect me to be able to update the Leaderboard until Friday at the absolute earliest. Less than four hours after I posted that, there's a new speed waiting to go on the Leaderboard! In the same day, I have three speeds pending.

I'm not saying 'don't post at all', but I am saying not to expect replies from me.

Using settings similar to wheelie settings is the general point of high-speed tuning, as MS says.

Now try and get it to 314.20mph. :sly:

Erm, what is this supposed to mean? :p

Leaderboard glitches have been noted (2078TM's Pescarolo speed hasn't been found, and so I will need to re-add it). Nothing can be done about updating it yet.
One final note, specifically at Pink_the_Floyd, edited videos are not allowed as verification. I can sway this rule once if the main run is not edited, but to be frank we all know what a Zonda 7.3 looks like and I don't need telling who's driving it
Oh, about the Lexus - don't make promises you don't know you can keep! :dopey:

Anyway, that video is insufficient verification, Pink_the_Floyd, as there is no Session Record display to go with it.

@Ithiele: Pink's video.

Pink, all you need to supply is a video of the entire run, from start tot finish (back to SR screen). Ideally, start from the 'Session Record' screen, record through your run, and finish recording back at the SR screen. Surely that's easier than worrying about adding style to the run!:)

Yep; Like this for example (made by me):

Hi, i'm new.

Now that we got that out of the way: Any tips for an aspiring speed freak to setup the cars? The Minolta and R92CP won't go faster than 300-301 (483 kmh), and i've tried everything with the transmission and NOS to get it higher, to no avail. I've read something about weight balance etc, but since i'm pretty dense i'll need that explained a bit more ^^

I really dont feel like explaining the whole thing, but, I'll give you the very shot one:

Strech you gearing (auto set 25, then adjust final)

Lower your car and soften your springs

put nos to full

use soft tires

Thats it, for the most part, ill let on of the other guys take over....

Any tips for an aspiring speed freak to setup the cars?

Welcome.

First of all, in addition to NOS you also need a Stage 4 turbo, if you do not already have them.

The basic settings would include softening springs all the way and shocks as appropriate, lower rear ride height to min and raise front ride height to max, set downforce to max and NOS to full power. With that setup as a baseline you can start experimenting, including all the remaining suspension settings and tires. As far as gearing is concerned note that the power peak for many of the cars is nowhere near redline and as such your best speed may come from reaching the finish line with revs significantly below that. And a last point is that the racing line you use and the timing of NOS can have a material impact on your speed.

Anyone else have anything to add??

Good luck with your speed quest 👍

Opendriver you beat me! (How did that happen, I know I didn't spend 16 minutes writing this)

I already had the upgrades, i was just thinking of how it works - i'd never think of increasing the downforce for example, i was just trying to keep all 4 wheels on the ground. This new approach is fun though, just made 348 mph ^^

well done ChromeBallz 👍 you can get more out of the cars, i'm pretty sure!

i'm looking at the moment for a new project.....any suggestions?

Did it! 351.97 MPH after a few tries - i'm almost at the max though in terms of transmission settings, i guess i'll have to look for smaller settings to improve upon this one...

The proof is in the attachment, although i couldn't make a video - My friends camera didn't run long enough to record it :(

Saved a replay though for when he's got new batteries.
