Thanks for the news Forza.👍
I really hope they don't de-tune it. its like you're choking the engine:guilty:.
but wether or not they de-tune it or not the RS6 is going to be a M5 and E55 AMG EATER!!:D

oh by the way do you know what model line(s) the 300 bhp turbo engine is going to be fitted to?:)

I presume the 3.2 V6 bi-turbo will also be available in the A6, Q7, Q5 and A5.

The TT-S will have a 300hp 2.0T engine, and a RS-TT will get a 2.5 bi-turbo 5 cylinder engine with a rumoured 350hp.

RS6 testing around the 'ring.

Engine news.

Taken from RS6.COM:

Firstly, here's some sketches of the A1. (Audi didnt make them high-res)

my.php

my.php

The same source that gave me them also says that the pic that we think is a chop is actually a spypic of the new A4!

The source tells me that the new R8 spider will have a reworked front and headlights and more like the le-mans concept! It will also have a new 4.2 V8 FSI with less CO2 and +16bhp

Here's some new engines that the source confirms too:

-1.9 i4TDi 140bhp 119kg/m,51mpg(a1,a3)
-2.0 i4TDi-e 170bhp 120kg/m,49.1mpg(a1,a3,a4,tt)42.3mpg(q3,a6)
-3.0 v6TDi-e 244bhp,136kg/m,38-40mpg(tt,a4)34.7-36mpg(a6)
-4.2 v8TDi-e 375bhp,188kg/m,32.3-36mpg(a6 allroad)
-2.5 i5TFsi 386bhp,195kg/m(?),26-30.7mpg(tt,a5,a6,a7,q5,q7)

Hmm, im not sure... it could be the new A4 as it is going to look similar to the A5, of course it could be an A5 Bodyshell on top of an A4 platform, but im not 100% certain if it is:confused:

Sorry about my earlier post, that spy shot is of the new A4.

I don't know why a lot of people are saying that the new A4 is ugly, I love it....in fact i think it is better that the B7!👍

Some of the features on the new A4:

Auto Express
Fresh headlamps, inspired by those on the A5, include LED daytime running lights, as well as optional xenon units for night driving. The rear tapers strongly inwards, while the exhaust pipes are straight, even on diesel-engined variants. Inside, the cabin borrows heavily from the A5, too, and can be specified with options such as Audi’s Drive Select, which enables owners to fine-tune steering, suspension and throttle response to their taste.

Also the interior of the new A4 compared to the B7:

I have to say I prefer the original to the new model:tdown:but of course with all Audi's the interior will be fine quality... after all Audi is famous for interiors.

Hi guys, not a huge poster here but an Audi fan nonetheless :)

I'm only 14 but my dad owns an '02 (8L platform) A3 non-turbo, which I hope to acquire as my first car. Currently has about 43,000kms and it's in damn good nick. The only reason I am looking to take this model is because of Australias provisional license turbo- and supercharged restrictions (otherwise I'd be on the hunt for an 8P 2.0t! :D )

So yeah, can I join? :D

martintomczykvr4.jpg

Above: Martin Tomczyk

Audi showed great performance in today's qualifying session which secured them a pole, 2nd and 3rd in tommorow's race at the Nürburgring in the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft).

DTM.com
In qualifying for the eighth DTM season round at the Nürburgring, Martin Tomczyk claimed pole position. With his Audi A4 DTM, the driver from Rosenheim set the outright fastest time of 1.23.197 minutes ahead of his fellow Audi drivers Timo Scheider and Tom Kristensen. For German driver Tomczyk, it is the fifth pole of his DTM career and the first one of the season. Behind the Audi trio, Canadian Bruno Spengler qualified fourth with the AMG Mercedes C-Class. Reigning DTM champion Bernd Schneider is fifth, Paul di Resta claimed seventh place with the 2005-spec AMG Mercedes C-Class behind Jamie Green while Mika Häkkinen will be starting from eighth position. Mattias Ekström,the leader in the DTM points’ standings, failed to make it into the third and final qualifying heat. He will be starting from tenth place.

Hopefully tomorrow Audi will repeat their success from the last meeting at Zandvoort - http://dtm.com/ergebnis.php?rennen=2007-07-29

Cheers

Couldn't have put any better myself!:D

Audi's understudy SEAT is also dominating the BTCC. Infact a diesel leon won the last race and the petrol came in second.

The Audi Q7 Hybrid – Concentrated Know-How

Audi possesses a wealth of experience in the field of hybrid drives – the brand with the four rings began developing hybrid cars as early as 1989. Today, the development engineers' concentrated know-how can be seen in the Audi Q7 hybrid.

The concept of the Audi Q7 hybrid is a full hybrid vehicle in parallel configuration – a concept that Audi has been pursuing for many years. This principle, in which all major assemblies are linearly situated, has great benefits compared to a series configuration, such as the concepts used by the competition. There, the complex system of electric motor, separate alternator and planetary gears has drawbacks not only in terms of weight, but also in terms of energy loss. Functions such as "sailing" (coasting without power), which parallel hybrids are able to realise, are not possible with series hybrids. In certain situations the electric motor actually has to build up braking force to regulate the driving current.

Audi's hybrid drive uses a 3.6 litre FSI V6 with an output of 206 kW (280 bhp) and a peak torque of 375 Nm. An electric motor situated in the drive train adds up to 285 Nm of additional torque. It is a matter of honour for such a supremely powered Audi to be equipped with quattro four-wheel drive, which permanently ensures a maximum of driving dynamics and road safety. Power is transmitted via a six-speed tiptronic gearbox.

The driving performance of the Audi Q7 hybrid is equal to that of a sports car. From standstill, 100 km/h is reached in just 7.6 seconds. And the pulling power is even more impressive. In fifth gear, the large SUV powers its way from 60 to 120 km/h in just 11.9 seconds. In normal driving conditions, the Audi Q7 hybrid, weighing 2,480 kg unladen, consumes on average 9.8 litres of fuel for 100 kilometres. That is 23 percent less than the basic model. The efficiency of the Audi hybrid drive can hardly be demonstrated more convincingly.

Under the bonnet, the 3.6 litre six-cylinder engine is no different from a standard engine. It is equipped with the highly efficient FSI petrol direct injection system. This enables it to develop more output and dynamism than a conventional engine with manifold injection. The V6 is characterised by a beefy torque curve right up to the rated speed, agile response and economical fuel consumption.

A number of modifications in the periphery were necessary for the 3.6 FSI to be used on the Audi Q7 hybrid. The A/C compressor, the oil pumps for the power steering and automatic gearbox and the vacuum pump for the brake booster are all electrically driven. This makes their operation independent of the combustion engine. The new electrohydraulic power steering has the advantage that it needs almost 90 percent less fuel than a conventional system. The vehicle electrical system receives its 3 kW of power from the drive battery via a voltage transformer.

The electric motor, which generates 285 Nm and 34 kW, has a diameter of 330 millimetres and a length of 55 mm. It is located between the V6 and the torque converter of the automatic gearbox. This configuration ensures maximum economy when it comes to space, allowing the complete space in the passenger cell to be used without restriction....

Finally people who like Audi too

PS.Go to my new post«Audi VERSUS Mercedes-Benz«

That isn't a new thing
Today people and car companies know the consumers are very worry about
the conditions of Earth and know hybrids have less consumes and less C02
so now every car companies try to have hybrid models, besides Porsche Will have Hybrid and Mercedes-Benz the Classe M Bluetec,so why audi don't
join to the club?

You know why Audi choose Q7 to have the V12 Diesel engine?
Because before the R8 appear in the auto market, that was the only
Audi who support the V12 Diesel engine:lol:
And now Audi wants to put that on this
562_audir8_abre.jpg

Now Audi will have a REAL SUPERCAR!

Official Details: The New Audi RS 6 Avant.

• V10 twin-turbo engine with 426 kW (580 bhp)
• Avant with the dynamism of a high-performance sports car
• Exclusive design and equipment, perfect quality

Outstanding top performance and maximum dynamism combined with excellent suitability for everyday use are the impressive features of the new Audi RS 6 Avant, which will be unveiled to the public for the first time at the IAA 2007 in Frankfurt. A newly developed V10 engine with FSI direct injection and twin turbochargers, permanent quattro four-wheel drive and sports suspension with Dynamic Ride Control DRC set the standard for high-performance vehicles in the luxury class. 426 kW (580 bhp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm add up to an unforgettable performance experience. At the same time, the new Audi RS 6 Avant offers a high standard of travel comfort – on long journeys, too.

The Audi RS models from quattro GmbH are the ultimate in sportiness, complemented by powerful and elegant design, exclusive equipment and perfect quality. It has also meanwhile become a good tradition that their sports performance is combined with the high utility value of an Avant: the very first Audi RS2, which appeared in 1993, was only built as an Avant model. Although the unique Audi RS driving sensation can now be experienced in saloon, Avant and Cabriolet models – as is the case with the current RS 4 – customers especially appreciate the combination of dynamism and versatility that an Avant offers.

The new Audi RS 6 will therefore only be available as an Avant to start with, with the unrivalled combination of 580 bhp and a maximum 1,660 litres of luggage space. The Audi RS 6 Avant will be launched in April 2008.

The new leader in the performance category
The Audi RS 6 redefines the term “high performance” in the business class. With its 426 kW (580 bhp), it is the most powerful model in the current Audi range and – with the exception of pure racing cars like the Le Mans-winning Audi R10 TDI – the most potent Audi of all time. But not only that: it is also clearly superior to all competitors in the top performance category.

The ten-cylinder V-configuration engine in the RS 6 is based on the V10 powerplants of the Audi S6 and Audi S8, but has been redeveloped in practically every respect to attain the significantly higher level of performance. The twin turbochargers ensure an impressively constant stream of power over the entire engine speed range: the mighty peak torque of 650 Nm is available across the entire range from 1,500 to 6,250 rpm; maximum output is available between 6,250 and 6,700 rpm.

The road performance of a super sports car
This powerplant enables the Audi RS 6 Avant to achieve the road performance of a high-performance sports car. It requires just 4.6 seconds for the sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h, and reaches the 200 km/h mark in a mere 14.9 seconds. Only when the needle touches 250 km/h is the propulsive power electronically governed. The power-to-weight ratio, too, matches that of a first-rate sports car: after all, with a vehicle weight of 2,025 kilograms – including the dynamic and sure-footed quattro four-wheel drive – every horsepower of the RS 6 Avant has to propel just 3.5 kilograms

The ten-cylinder concept provides the ideal basis for a high-performance unit of this calibre. The V10 is unusually compact with an overall length of 670 millimetres and is very light with a total weight of 278 kilograms. TFSI technology from Audi, the combination of direct injection and turbocharging, ensures efficient power output, based on extensive experience in the field of motor sport: the R8 racing car, a pioneer of TFSI technology, captured a series of victories for the brand with the four rings at Le Mans.

Suspension for performance and comfort
The suspension of the Audi RS 6 has been consistently designed for maximum dynamic performance along with good travelling comfort – on long journeys, too. Shock absorber and spring settings as well as the entire elastokinematics of the four-link front suspension and the trapezoidal-link rear suspension have been adapted to the new level of performance. The characteristics of the servotronic speed-dependent power assistance have also been retuned. The steering is consequently very sensitive and delivers optimum feedback from the road.

All in all, in terms of driving feel the RS 6 combines the precision and cornering ability of a sports car with the relaxed straight-line stability of a comfortable cruiser. The standard Dynamic Ride Control DRC, familiar from the current RS 4 and consistently enhanced, plays a major role here. This system reduces pitching and rolling movements about the longitudinal and transverse axis of the vehicle in a particularly ingenious way – entirely without the aid of electronics and solely according to the laws of fluid dynamics.

An individual driving feel
With Dynamic Ride Control the shock absorbers are connected diagonally with each other via two oil lines and two control valves. Body movement – e.g. rolling when cornering at high speed on an uneven road surface – produces flows of oil, which generate additional damping force. As a result, the RS 6 boasts even more directional control through bends and reacts with substantially more precision to the steering inputs of the driver.

Dynamic Ride Control on the new RS 6 can be supplemented if desired with optional three-stage damping. This allows the driver to select the handling characteristics according to his/her personal preferences or chosen route. In the comfort setting, the sports suspension plus provides remarkable ride comfort, in the dynamic program it adjusts superbly to an enthusiastic driving style and in the sport mode it delivers maximum driving precision.

The sporty setting of the electronic stabilisation program ESP is an ideal match here: the point of intervention is very late, permitting a high degree of driving enjoyment whilst fully maintaining driving safety. Alternatively, the ESP may be completely deactivated.

Ceramic brakes for the exceptional athlete
An athlete of such exceptional calibre as the Audi RS 6 naturally requires an outstanding brake system. The standard 19-inch steel discs have been designed for maximum load. They consist of an aluminium brake-disc chamber and a cast friction ring, both connected with each other in a floating arrangement via metal pins. This design increases thermal stability and reduces weight.

Optionally, in conjunction with 20-inch wheels, a ceramic brake system is available: it boasts discs with an impressive diameter of 420 millimetres at the front and 356 millimetres at the rear, which endure the most extreme thermal loads with ease and have a very long operating life. Equally impressive are the tyre sizes: the standard 19-inch wheels with the new 10-spoke design are shod with size 255/40 R 19 tyres; the optional 20-inch wheels are fitted with 275/35 R 20 tyres.

Self-assured appearance with functional features
Its independent design lends the Audi RS 6 a striking and self-assured look – without any hint of aggression. In fact, the clear front-end design with the remodelled bumper and accentuated apertures evidently follows function: the high-performance powerplant requires a considerable amount of air to breathe as well as for cooling. The fact that it belongs to the RS family is emphasised by the matt aluminium-look single-frame grille featuring a highly polished black guard in a diamond design.

The headlights on the Audi RS 6 are miniature works of art in high-tech terms: to create space in the front apron for additional air flow, the halogen fog lights have been integrated alongside the bi-xenon headlights, optionally with adaptive light, the cornering light function.

The LED daytime running lights strip adds a distinctive touch: ten LEDs at the lower edge of each headlight unit lend the Audi RS 6 a striking appearance, by day or night. A flat cover at the top of the headlights sharpens the “look” of the business/sports car. The taillights, too, largely employ LED technology.

Striking design derived from the “Ur-quattro”
The rear of the Audi RS 6 is characterised by the oval exhaust tailpipes and the diffuser-look apron. A roof spoiler completes the aerodynamic fine-tuning of this high-performance vehicle. The side outline is distinguished by wide, flared wheel arches. Like the engine compartment lid, the front wings are made of aluminium in order to reduce weight. They accommodate the mighty wheels of the new Audi RS 6, yet are also reminiscent of a milestone in automotive history: the flat tops of the wheel arches with their clear edges were counted among the design elements of the Audi quattro – the pioneer of permanent four-wheel drive from the year 1980. A metallic/pearl effect paint finish is standard; new colours Sepang Blue, Monza Silver and Monterrey Green are exclusively reserved for the RS 6.

Elegant and exclusive interior
The interior of the new RS 6 offers an impressive synthesis of sporty elegance and exclusiveness. The extremely high standard of craftsmanship typical for Audi is complemented by an equally sporty and elegant combination of top-class materials. Carbon fibre, aluminium, leather and Alcantara create an ambience that is unique even in the world of high-performance cars.

The main control element is and remains the steering wheel: on the RS 6 the customer can choose between the multifunction sports steering wheel with a 3?spoke design and the particularly distinctive flat-bottomed RS sports steering wheel, likewise with multifunction controls and shift paddles for the transmission. The cockpit in the typical RS design additionally features a boost pressure gauge. Displays for boost pressure, oil temperature and lap timer can be called up via the driver information system.

The inlays are made of carbon fibre and edged in aluminium, the cockpit trim gleams with its piano black finish. Additional highlights in the interior are provided by the aluminium-coloured keys of the MMI terminal on the centre console, the milled-finish door handles and the aluminium-look sports pedals. The highly contoured sports seats are covered in a combination of leather and Alcantara with an embossed RS 6 emblem or optionally wrapped completely in Silk Nappa or Valcona leather.

Extensive equipment, individual options
This high-performance vehicle naturally deserves an appropriate level of standard equipment. In addition to design and technical elements specific to the RS 6, this includes the audio system with powerful Bose Surround Sound, heated seats at the front and rear, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Audi parking system plus. Together with the wide range of high-tech options for the Audi A6 series, every RS 6 can be perfectly matched to the driver’s individual wishes. The Audi RS 6 is consequently a sporty business car with great versatility, making it suitable for a variety of leisure activities, too.

I loved the previous RS6 Avant and hope to see if the new one can knock it off its perch when its released.
Now for the DTM results:

Audi delighted after Eifel victory - title race remains open

dtmwinzk3.jpg

Audi didn't get a 1,2,3 like they hoped but they still managed a 1st & 3rd!

www.dtm.com
A convincing win and ten points for the championship. The result for Audi driver Martin Tomczyk in the eighth DTM round at the Nürburgring couldn’t have been better. After 43 laps and a distance of 156.047 kilometres, the driver from Rosenheim crossed the finish line in first place. For the 25-year old, it was already the second win in a row and the third of his DTM career.

“On Friday, the weekend didn’t start off very well, but it couldn’t have ended in a better way than with a victory. The success was the icing on the cake”, Tomczyk said after his success in front of a weekend crowd of 117,000 spectators. Last year’s winner, Bruno Spengler from Canada, finished second with his AMG Mercedes C-Class. The 24-year old started fourth and during the course of the race first beat Dane Tom Kristensen and then German Timo Scheider (both Audi). A remarkable recovery and valuable points in the battle for the championship caused happiness for third-placed Mattias Ekström from Sweden. In the 70th DTM race of his career, the points leader started from tenth place with his Audi A4 DTM and made his way up one lap after another to finish on the podium.

Ekström, the 2004 DTM champion, is in the best position in the title race as the leader in the points’ standings (44 points). Today’s winner Tomczyk (40 points) is following closely behind, four points down. Spengler is ten points down on Tomczyk in third place. The chances of DTM record champion Bernd Schneider to defend his title are almost entirely mathematical. The Mercedes-Benz driver finished seventh in the Eifel and with 20 points still at stake he is fourth in the points’ standings, 16.5 points down.

The spectators got to see an exciting race at the Nürburgring with its long heritage. The drivers not only staged an action-packed battle in the fight for victory. After duels with Ekström. Audi driver Timo Scheider finished fourth in the eighth round of the season. He was followed by two Mercedes-Benz drivers, Paul di Resta from Scotland in his two-year old car and Briton Jamie Green. There was a particularly tough battle for seventh place between Schneider and Kristensen. They were driving side-by-side through several corners before Schneider eventually came out on top. Kristensen didn’t give in and kept Schneider under pressure until the end, but eventually had to make do with eighth place and one point.

The ninth and penultimate DTM round of the year is taking place at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on September 23rd.

Martin Tomczyk: (winner, Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline): “On Friday, the weekend didn’t start off very well, but it couldn’t have ended in a better way than with a victory. The success was the icing on the cake. Our strategy was perfect, so that I could drive freely all the time. My lap times were so consistent that I didn’t have to make a pit stop, but you have to make them at some point. I am happy that I have reduced the gap in the points’ standings and I am looking forward to great races in Barcelona and Hockenheim.”

Bruno Spengler: (2nd place, DaimlerChrysler Bank AMG Mercedes): “I am quite happy with second place. My car was very good and consistent. Once I had overtaken Tom, I was quicker and closed up to the front runners. I am confident for the two final rounds, even though I am ten points down. Now it is maximum attack, everything is still possible.”

Mattias Ekström: (3rd place, Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline): “In the race, I was quite busy, there was a lot of action. It was really fun. I am happy that Timo didn’t play it that hard in our battle. Making up from tenth on the grid to finish third is great, especially after the problems I had in qualifying on Saturday.”

Audi motorsport director Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich: “We wanted a nice race and today we have shown that we can achieve a good result with the right strategy and performance. The spectators got to see an exciting and fair race. The crowd here was great and I am very happy that the DTM is getting such a good echo. This was touring car racing as good as it comes. Martin Tomczyk drove a great and error-free race and Mattias Ekström was consistently quick throughout the race. But even if everything was going to plan for us today, we know, that Mercedes-Benz is a strong opponent.”

Mercedes-Benz motorsport director Norbert Haug: “Above all, the good thing for us is that we will have less ballast in the cars for the next round and have closed up in the championship standings. The race in general was worth watching. Being ten points down certainly isn’t the best position to be in and Audi is the favourite in the final dash. But that doesn’t mean that we are now giving up, quite the contrary. A tie in the points ‘ standings after the next race would be awesome. We will do everything to make sure that the decision in the DTM will be postponed from Barcelona to Hockenheim.”

Congratulations once again Audi:tup:

Hand on heart, this (RS6 advant) is one of my new favorite cars ever. I would literally trade a few duplicate organs for one of these--in that blue or yellow.

Audi improves quattro AWD with new sport differential

image24305_c.jpg

Audi has developed a new performance differential for its quattro AWD cars that’ll be available from next year onwards. The new system distributes torque from the engine independently between the rear wheels, improving traction beyond that of the current AWD set-up. According to Audi, the tendency of its AWD cars to understeer has been reduced to almost nil thanks to the system analyzing acceleration, yaw angle and speed to identify where traction is lost.
In its basic setting, the torque-sensing centre differential delivers 40% of torque to the front axle and 60% to the rear. The new set-up is able to send part of this torque to the individual rear wheels almost instantly (less than 100 milliseconds) if it detects any loss of traction. The new differential features a multi-plate clutch running in an oil bath, with the clutches activated by an electro-hydraulic actuator.
Drivers will be able to select from three different operating modes, with ‘comfort’ mode focusing on stability, ‘auto’ mode providing a balance between stability and handling, and finally ‘dynamic,’ which offers the best handling but the roughest ride.

Nice to know Audi are improving their already great Quattro System technology just like their Audio systems.....
