Thats a big ask for anybody :scared: I only ever done them in standard mode using the sixaxis and behind car / kiddie view and I chased the 40 golds before I even tried the game online and never went back to them afterwards as I also created my GTP_ account and now the account with 40 golds just sits there.
I am now on the wheel and bumper view so hoping to go back and try them all again on the wheel this time ... but I cant imagine getting half in gold with the wheel! let alone all 40 :eek:

To anyone who has done all 40 in pro mode with no aids and using the wheel and also keeping them all clean! ... Top marks!! :cheers:

I'm glad to see you are being honest lol. I thought I sucked for not being able to get all 40/40 in gold with the all aids off, pro physics with the wheel. This makes me feel better.
 
No, I wasn't able to do all of them this way. I did manage to get many of them, but a few of them I found darn near impossible and ended up going back to standard physics. I don't think I had to resort to driving aids though. Simply setting the physics back to something I was familiar with (standard physics = very close to GT4 physics) worked for me.
 
Have 40 golds, but some of them I used standard physics to get (but always using cockpit view and never using TC or ASM) - S10, Ford GT at HSR, F40 at suzuka, M3 at Eiger reverse and Evo at Eiger... one day I'll go back to them and get them with pro physics, but I don't hold out much hope for the F40 or S10 tests, they were almost impossible on standard!
 
Haha, are you kidding? The 700PP races are impossible in Pro mode (at least for me at this stage) and the Ferrari F430 challenge at Daytona Road ciruit is impossible even in Standard mode... I can only manage Silver in that on Standard and I'm still 0.2 - 0.5 secs behind 1st.

But we have the usual GT scenario in these races... you start in last place, no qualifying, while you chase down 1 car that is stupidly fast with all the others getting in the way at every apex. Online racing is more fun to make money as long as you don't get punted.

Agreed - I'm not even remotely interested in getting golds, as soon as I have even a bronze the event is checked off my list and I'll never even think about it again. For me it's the quickest rush to unlock everything and THEN the game begins!
 
Yeah that's what I thought. I couldn't do that one with pro physics. I just used the Mines Skyline and got 3rd place, 15 seconds off from 1st lol.

I have said it many time on GTP but I'm not interested in the events. But I can't seem walk away from these events either. I wish I had your attitude towards the events. Bronze should be enough just to unlock everything.

I have a semi-related question. Do you think its more 'honorable' to use aids in Pro mode, or no aids in standard mode if no aids in Pro mode isn't going to get you the gold (or even a bronze in some cases)?

And my answer to the original question is no, I got about 67% gold in pro mode with no aids with a wheel. I haven't even start S yet.
 
As in traction control and that? Its not a question of honour or anything really. Driver aids are not cheats, in fact they slow you down once you've got used to a car. But they are a good way of keeping your car on the track while you learn the braking points and anf whatnot.

Edit - just realised I didn't actually answer the question :lol: I reckon it's more "honourable" to use pro mode with assists. Standard mode is like having glue on your tyres.
 
It's a game, first and foremost! Use whatever you like to make it more enjoyable for you. Be warned tho - if you come up against a good driver who isn't using aids, you're going to have a hell of a time trying to beat him. Other than abs all of the aids work by inhibiting your speed in some way. Inhibited speed is not the key to going faster :sly:
 
What I hate about this (& I've complained about it a lot before), is the endless repetition that's required to succeed. I'm sure we're all familiar with the typical scenario: into the first corner & if you don't do it perfectly, start again, because you already know that you're not going to be able to succeed. You end up doing the first few corners over & over & over again. :ouch:

Personally, I don't find that too entertaining. The ultra-fine tuning of your run through endless repetition, just doesn't strike me as promoting "good-driving", more like "obsessive-complusive" disorder! :crazy:

No, I haven't golded all the missions/races. The 2 or 3 that I found "impossible" to clear on "Professional", I completed on "Standard" & didn't find it hard to Gold them.
 
I got 40/40 golds useing pro phyhics for the ones i could do, and standard phyhics for the ones thats i tried over and over again with the (sixaxis)

With all so 71/71 Cars took me a total of 2 weeks!
 
I agree. I don't think it is possible to get all gold in PRO mode.

I did all races without any assists (I find it, that they usually slow me down a bit), despite the fact, that in several occasions I lost the race because of being impatient and having no TC :). But it worked out after several tries. But I changed to standard physics for some of them and even then it was quite difficult to get gold (BMW M3 on Eiger comes to my mind ...). The rest on standard mode - Lancer time trial, F40 time trial and F430 time trial were much easier.

And I don't think I could ever get these time trials gold on PRO physics.

Oh, I use DFP wheel, because I simply cannot drive with pad. Anyone completing those races on pad is a hero for me ;).
 
I have almost all gold, all gold in S-Class :sly: but it was a mixture of standard and Pro physics.
