Fishy. If I bring a "fudged" resume to a prospective employer, he might just never hire me, even if I qualify. I think it's fair to make the same assumption here, especially if he really claims to have a professional corporation. Heck, how any Joe Schmoe (much less the owner of a corporation) can make that "mistake" is beyond me.

For the record, anyone who is remotely related to the racing business has more cred than Stefanovic. Not that I think the USGP will definitely be back in Indy, but it's a bigger priority than a Serbian GP.

You're assuming he's a con artist because he fudged his resume. He said AMCO was involved with the German company; the German company denied it. AMCO later cleared it up as meaning a person associated with the company was involved in the preliminary stages, but the tender was not taken up. So the Germans have no record of it actually happening, even if it did.

Reality: AMCO didn't exist in 2006. Neither AMCO nor Stefanovic were listed as exhibitors at the Belgrade EcoFair in 2006. Wind turbine blade with AMCO logo on it 2 years before they existed? Insert your own Photoshop conclusion.

Claim: "AMCO have made gearboxes for Formula Ford."
Reality: Formula Ford uses Hewland gearboxes and has since... ever.

Claim: AMCO built a sports prototype racer - which won 4 national championships
Reality: It's a FIAT 600 with a bodykit. And how often were these national championships held if it won 4 after you built it and you've only existed since 2008? And in fact how did AMCO build it when it was built by http://www.centarbobantuning.com/ ?

Claim: "AMCO had experience with constructing and manufacturing parts for EU space project ARIANE 5 rocket. Number of parts for ARIANE were manufactured by us in Serbia."
Reality: Really? Which parts are they then?


Fudged resume doesn't really cut it, I'm afraid.

He isn't building a "technology center" because he is a total complete fraud. He actually has a good scam going, if the whole thing fails he can easily blame someone else for his failure. All he has to do is make it look like he is making a legitimate effort to build a track/field a car and investors will join.

Nah he doesn't need investors, he has a multinational corporation making large profits, and also backing from the Serbian government as part of their "Национални мото Пројекат за развој" (National Motorsport Project Development) :sly:

His 'technology centre' will be kind of like the 'technology' section in HMV, where they have Blank VHS tapes on display.
 
My idea of their suposed technology centre will more like the top gear tecnology centre.
 
Whoops, my mistake... a MAYOR, not a Governor. Wow. Blasted for that mix up. We know nothing of what Stefan has prepared, at least not yet. I'm not supporting his claims, but neither am I denying them.

He's gone the way of many people and things in Stefan images....he got photoshopped (out).
So....now Stefan literally has nothing F1 related at all. No Toyota designs. No Toyota support. No pay drivers. No designers. No engines. No sponsors.
But at least he has a company which makes a profit of 40 euros and photos of the mayor of Stara Pazova right guys?

There's a funny quote from earlier in this thread. It went "Actions speak louder than words". Indeed, the actions of Mr Stefan do speak louder than his wasted words, it is words he misleads by and actions that he fails under.
 
How do you know what Stefan has? Do you live in Serbia? Are you his business manager? Have you met him? None of us can be certain what he has or doesn't have. If he's found a way to make money and a new F1 team, good for him. If not, well, that's kinda what we expected right? Let's wait and see if there is any news of his efforts or not. Something tells me he's not quite done.
 
freshseth, the more challenging question is whether he can compete with the other new entrants. Assuming he's got the bare minimum required to get into Formula 1 and is totally legit - I said assume, guys - he's still missing what the others have: Stefan GP has no racing experience. Epsilon Euskadi is a racing team; they run in the World Series by Renault and had a Le Mans campaign a few years back (as bad as the ee1 was, I'm told it was actually designed and buit by students from a local university and was only intended to be run for one Le Mans race). And for all their financial woes, Durango have competed in GP2 and GP2 Asia. Both teams have experience not just in running racing teams, but in running open-wheel racing teams. Stefan doesn't even meet the former, much less the latter. And given the fallout from the USF1 farce, you can bet that Jean Todt is going to want to play things safe and pick a team that has a realistic chance of making the grid. I don't know about you, but I for one think that experience running a racing team will go a long way to support a potential entrant's credibility.

That doesn't make sense at all, Coughlan has always been controversial. Him and Dave Ryan (who seems to have conveniently disappeared).

And anyway, Coughlan was actually one of the excellent picks Stefan made. I rate Coughlan far higher than people like Gascoyne, I'm actually surprised other small teams haven't engaged his services. I'm pretty sure any bans from FIA events or whatever are finished now?
I think it would be pretty easy to convince sponsors that he is worth the trouble too.
 
Bans from the FIA are indeed finished, but the stigma from 2007 remains. In order for Stefan to get onto the grid this year, they would have needed the unanimous support of the teams - and Ferrari would have vetoed any team with Mike Coughlan on its payroll.
 
That would have been the case for this year too though...hence it doesn't make sense to hire him not realising this potential problem, unless of course he knows bugger all about F1.
