So I found a car with worse turbo lag than the Chaparral when it has a stage 4 turbo

Holy crap its bad. The Citroen 2CV Type A has the WORST turbo lag I have ever seen. It makes the Chapparal or the Escudo look like nothing. I got stuck on a downhill slope waiting for this thing to get going. I dont know how anyone would even put it into a race. Everyone needs to try this car. Fully modified with stage 2 turbo. Just hope for the rolling start.

I don't think its turbo lag, more likely it doesn't have horse power. But anyway its a pos like the Benz Patent Motor Wagen and the Daimler Motor Crarriage.

By the way have you seen what happened to the 2cv on Top Gear when thay drove it past a 7 something 7.
 
I think it is turbo lag because once it gets to like 4k it takes off like a rocket. I will have to look into this top gear episode too.
 
I can think of many many cars with worse turbo lag than the Citröen. Thing is, they don't have turbos:sly:
 
the option Z has very horrible lag, and im not sure you can even get a bigger turbo..... Try racing it on a track where you are waiting for the light, it is sucky man!

Yes you can get a bigger turbo for it. :eek: The turbo lag is extreme, but if you set up the ratios nicely, this can can be really fast on the track. 👍 I personally love this car. :)

And I understand what bozman meant with the 2CV. It has MAJOR TURBO LAG. Just like someone else said in another thread. you need to rev the car and hope the front wheels burnout to avoid turbo lag... :(
 
Whoa, I'm glad GT4 has turbo-lag! GT2 and 3 skipped out on a lot of lag which is unrealistic. GT1 has the most realistic turbo-lag. 👍

Indeed, but if the gearing is set so the car doesnt top out at 65mph 1st gear is too long to spin the wheels. Not to mention that if you hold the e brake and the gas, the engine doesnt rev like a normal car, it kinda goes to 1k then down to 900. I dont know what thats all about but eventually, by using a 100 shot of nitrous, the car will start to move.
 
I actually like the lag on the Escudo Dirt Trial car. It's great on the Test Track with Super-Soft tires, full power and minumum weight, in Arcade mode. It's excellent, you go quite slowly and then WHAM! Rocket boosters. :sly:
 
So I just did a couple 400m races in the thing and it will barely rev over 1k before the countdown is over. I did manage a 18.012 once it hit like 2.5k I got massive wheelspin. WTF is going on with this car?

So? It still doesn't have a turbo, and that is still incorrect. The Peugoet 905 is NA, and people say that has turbo lag. Doesn't mean that is correct, either.

I would have thought the 2CV was beyond help, even from forced induction. Maybe they connect the turbo up to the gearbox and just use the engine as a gas generator...

I never really ran with any laggy cars, it's against my religion. I think the only one that had real lag in my garage was the Escudo.

Yes, it most certainly does. Especially if you are going to start a thread title that says "So I found a car with worse turbo lag than the Chapparal," when the Chapparal isn't turbocharged, and therefore ANY forced induction car would have more turbo lag.
In addition, I did not start the argument. I simply stated a fact that the car was not turbocharged. You challenged me on the issue and, having been proven wrong, are taking refuge under the pretext that I was the one that started the altercation.

I definitely knew what you were talking about. However, I have also seen similar threads with similar topics; and in those threads any car with a poor transmission (usually a Chapparal or Peugoet 905) is said to have turbo lag. That is simply not the case, which is all I said. Even when you turbocharge them they do not suffer from turbo lag; because
  1. GT4 doesn't model turbo lag that well, and
  2. When highly turbocharged, the two cars suffer from a high boost threshold. Not Turbo Lag.
 
He did say that the Citroen had a turbo installed in the first post, and because he said that that was the car he is using, I'm sure we are/were supposed to realize thats the car he will be using. I think you mean a low boost threshhold. The boost is only met at a small area of enigne speed, i think. I'm pretty sure that there is no need for this [cancel]argument[/cancel] little misunderstanding/misinformation, because this is not only a thread about the chapparal and the 905, it is helping us explore the cars in the game that have very weak low end eg. "Lag"

I am probably only going to make one more post in this thread, and it will only be to reiterate my point:
I did NOT post in this thread to start a fight. I saw the thread title. I noticed it contained a bit of misinformation, and I posted to state what it was with the correct info. I meant no harm by it, nor did I feel it invalidated the actual topic of discussion, nor was I trying to get the thread title changed. All I was doing was stating that the Chapparal does not have turbo lag, just as a little fact for anyone who was interested. However, I was not the one who turned this into a fist fight, and I was not the one who stirred things up.



@Tulok: There is already a thread for that purpose.
 
EVERYONE check out the Alto Works from suzuki in GT3... Fully modify it. Then try driving it. THERE IS SO MUCH F:censored:ING lag in that car. It takes about 5-6 seconds to rev from idle to redline on full throttle. :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: WTF suzuki is the only car company in GT3 with Turbo Lag. Go try it yourself.
