I'm so freaking bored of this game, I remember playing GT 1-3 and being entertained for almost a whole year while playing the same game. It only took me 3 month to have no interest in this game.
I've been a member of gt planet long enough to realize that maybe GT 4 is where it's at. So I did some research and I found a used copy of GT 4 for $4.00 at my local gamestop. So I'm going to give it a try, at least it different races on different courses with pretty much the same cars...

I just checked my crystal ball app and it tells me you should get GT4. But you'll also be bored of it in a few months.

Ha ha, just kidding. Hope you like GT4.

Is it worth getting the game?

Yes. If it's as cheap as you say, you got nothing to lose.

I'm posting some spoiler text below. Highlight it if you're wanting to blow a couple GT4 surprises...

Cars understeer heavily in GT4 but generally do NOT oversteer so much. No donuts, hardly any drifting. In my opinion, GT4 is therefore not nearly as fun. But it has several tracks which do not appear in GT5: Infineon, Apricot Hill, Seattle, and a few others...you can also fast-forward races and B-spec can be shared with A-spec races.

Can't say I blame you for feeling this way.

GT5 is like a roller coaster to me. Sometimes, I'm just fed up with it, and then there are other occasions where I manage to have a good time with it. It's odd.

I WISH TO PLAY GT4 ON PS3 BUT WHAT CAN I DO I GOT GT4 NOT COPY AND IT DONT WORK ON PS3
super bad english ^_^

MuoNiuLa, That's a good point. I have my ups and downs with GT5, I just take a break for a few days then come back to it

Do as normal people do -> play something else.
GT5 is not the only cool game on PS3 ya!:dunce:

I feel u man. All I have left to do is get all cars, do aspec endurance (will be done when the save in race thing comes), and a few trophies. Basically just buying cars I can do now and it's just grinding than buying garbage cars I dont care for usually a million different miatas, rx-7, 3000gt, and skylines. Grinding the same races are the most boring thing ever and just tp buy trash cars gives me no motivation. Hopefully the next patch will add a few new things to keep it more fun.

Yes, I got bored too. I thought by now there would be a big patch to bring some life to GT5, but nothing.
Shift 2 is great though, especially on the PC. Amazing game/sim and Autolog adds some freshness to it. Can see my friends lap times on every track.
Will keep checking here though to see if th AI has been quickened up.

Is there any sign of a big patch by the way? The basics are brilliant, but it's like a half finished game.

Even though I have just about every car I want, I'm not bored of GT5 yet. Online keeps me playing (if I'm not racing I'm in a free run server showing off my garage) and it's not the only game I play.

I played GT4 for about a year straight (about 3 hours a day) never got bored of it. I don't see where this game went wrong as it is an amazingly good driving game but maybe thats the problem.

I ran into the same problem with flight simulators on PC, they were amazing in their realism but after awhile just flying just feels like a normal day at the office, as once you get good there's not much left to do. GT5 has the same problem as past GT's, even at great speeds you don't get the sensation of moving quickly and this makes it alot of times feel unattached.

Also the GT series is just about the only driving game with barely any personifications for your cars (rims not available on 80% of cars, no liveries or a true paint shop). I love GT5 but at this point, if it's to be just a car simulator they need to bring in alot more setup options and parts to buy for the cars..... brakes come to mind.

Anything Nintendo is childish, that's why.

I for one am not really too bored of GT5, it just needs more races is all.

Ohhh wahhhhhhhhhh!

GT5 bores me, there arent enough offline events against uncompetitive, robotic AI, so instead I will be picking up GT4 so I can race dozens of more offline A-spec events against uncompetitive, robotic AI.

This is just repetition at this point, but racing online opened up a whole new level to the game for me. After golding everything and too much grinding I was about done with the game too. The disk probably gathered dust for a good month at one point. Then I went online for some reason, came across some surprisingly specific lobbies that were right up my alley, found some top notch racers/competition and I was hooked.

If you haven't spent some time getting to know the online side of the game, you're missing out. What you'll quickly learn: you're not as fast as you think, and you're not as good a tuner as you think. I'm practically obsessed with tuning now. Being able to take an obscure car and make it competitive online is one of the more satisfying gaming experiences I've ever had.

I loved GT4. If you can live without the GT5 eye candy, cockpit view, and online racing, I think you will really enjoy it.

Have fun !
