Just turned up in the UCD..... for 12.4 million! I did a search and got swamped with "Marketplace" posts, as usual, so the question is.....

For that kind of money is it some kind of dark horse? It certainly doesn't look special on paper. Worth a "buy"??

Not really, other than collecting. Perhaps a limited old timer American race car series online, but so many other cars you wget as prize cars are much better for race wins. If you're like me and one of your [long term] goals is to get every single car then go for it. Heck, the modded Vette beats it for under $700K.

The car is a 3 speed and power is incredible feeling. 550 hp at 800kg. I think. It is an amazing ride worth every penny.

The 2D would wipe the floor with the C2 Z06, and the C2 Z06 costs more than 700k just to buy anyways.

Yea I have both chap's and like the 2D best as it looks SLEEK 2J looks like an unfinished project lol

I want the C2 GRAN SPORT in gt5 (gt2 rm c2 )

what are you smoking ? :) you'll win it sooner or later and the 2J is much quicker... save your money.

I enjoyed the 2D quite a lot and like the looks.

The 3 gears are a bit weird at times, but for the rest great racer!
For the price you can get a lot of other fun too though.

Get yourself a level 21 ticket and save the credits. If you cannot earn a ticket or you already did and cashed it in, then buy the car because who knows when the psn will be back up so you can trade for the 21 ticket.

It is not fast for what it costs at all. A Corvette ZR1 RM will do much better for under a tenth of the price, but i adore it. I actually spend those 14 mil on it, i didn't use any tricks to get it and i love it. Worth every penny. Just the looks is enough to justify the price. So to even get a car that handles great and is quite fast i think it is a bargain!
BUY BUY BUY BUY! You won't regret it! or maybe you will if you don't like to drive around in a white/gray'ish dish washer, but i love it !

I have 1 there not very good but its good if your collecting old cars, as others say, Dont buy just get a ticket.

2D is a beast once it gets past low revs... holds speed like nothing else (except maybe the X2010, F1 cars and 2J)

Thanks all. Some mixed opinions there.

I have now only 15 million, so I think I'll pass. Knowing my luck, I'll buy it and then the Sauber Merc. will pop up straight away, and I won't have the credits!

The 2d is crud I tried it at my friends house and the pescarolo courage is WAY faster and that will be slaughtered by the bentley speed 8!

So, wait, you're saying that a 45 year old design is slower than a modern LeMans racer? No Way!

In less sarcastic words, one doesn't buy a classic car with the expectation to beat modern cars, they're there for fun, style, and beating year-restricted races.

I'd buy it. Awesome historic race car, quite successful and it is an awesome drive. It's easy to drive and beats the Ferrari 330 P4, Jaguar XJ13 and Ford Mark IV on most courses because of its superiority on corners.

You guys need to google Jim Hall or Chapparal Race Cars and learn! Hall was way ahead of his time with "out of the box" thinking. You need to remember that in the 1960's there were no computers,no carbon fiber technologies...hell,even the military did'nt have that kind of tech to rely on.Jim Hall was an innovator beyond his time. The 2 series cars were amazing for what they were and the 2J was banned by the FIA because the other manufactures could'nt compete, Maclaren was the loudest complainer, did'nt want to try to run with a car that was "glued" to the ground using those snowmobile powered fans that created vacuum under the car for what essentially was the first ground effects car.It was indeed an "unfinished" project.Imagine where it could have gone if Hall had continued along those lines...👍
