Mine doesn't have oversteer like that. :P I think it may be because your Acceleration Lock is too high. ;)

I just wanted to thank you for the awesome tune for the Alpina B6 GT3! It made the Endurance Championship races a total breeze. Great tune, it totally made my day 👍

I would like to put in a request since my tuning skills aren't very good, I would like a Lambo 640 full works with engine swap set up for tracks like Road America & SPA with maximum grip on the twitchy Lambo. For about two days now I've tried to break the 2:00 mark at SPA and my currant tune is driving me crazy :grumpy:

In your opinion what is the best GT3 car.

The R8 and/or the B6.

Done.

--------

Formal announcement: In the likeliest of situations I should finally be able to start filling requests for the GT-R GT1 tomorrow at the absolute earliest. It will be up this, er, next week without a doubt though.

All hail the great T-12!

Great tune mate, if only it had a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit less understeer, it would be perfect.

I had the recklessness (!!!) to use up your tune with the following changes:

F. Sway Bar - 2.00
R. Sway Bar - 3.00
F. Spring Rate - 1.00
R. Spring Rate - 1.00
F. Bump Stop - 1.00
R. Bump Stop - 1.00

So far it's quite solid, but I got no idea if these changes don't negate some of the handling of your tune, since they probably make it more unstable to begin with...

:dunce:

P.S. Bugatti sucks, McLaren rules

Edit: A final drive ratio of 6:00 gets a maximum (not top) speed around 355 @ Nordschleife, while a 5:00 gets around 359.

Out of curiosity what is the average amount of time you spend on each tune?

It depends. The margin is anywhere from several minutes (no, I'm not joking one bit) to an hour or two.

Leave the Veyron off that average :P

:lol:

I'll try it out and get back to you. Spoil-t may have been on to something before when he mentioned my rather high acceleration lock, so I'll look in to that as well.

Nice F1 works tune, T! Still need to drive it with some finesse but now it tells you it's going to bite you before it actually does it. Not a car to be thrown around, it only seems to want to be driven one way. Luckily that's kinda how I like to drive. Just a little less understeer without compromising the rear stability and this car will dominate.

I'll take that to mean there's no need for a third works conversion tune? :D

Rainbows, unicorns and happiness come out of the exhaust of the last version.

But then again... a bit of oversteer at speeds over 200 km/h, but DON'T WORK ON IT, it's so mild and I only noticed it when trying to find errors.

But really... don't.

Would be awesome if you made a Works Mustang (that new one by Shelby), that is so aggressive that you are afraid to drive it.

Thanks T!!! I'll have too wait a couple of days too try it out since my wife mailed my LE Shift 2 copy to Netflix :grumpy: Yes you heard that right and in a situation like that you really learn the true meaning of self control instead of going with my first thought of going medieval on her a$$. Hopefully I'll get it back or I'll be back at Game stop buying a new copy since it's the only game I play :guilty:

Thats amazing that it only takes a few minutes for you at times. The least amount of time I've spent was around 20 minutes or so for a 293 mph Supra for the Standing Mile.

Couple of notes on tuning generally (t12 probably knows all this anyhow, just for other people):

Shift 2's tuning is pretty much identical to Shift 1 tuning, but the information is presented slightly differently. I think the idea being that although you were being presented with the "real" unit pressure, or ft/lbs or whatever in Shift 1, this was not actually all that easy to present accurately once the car started taking on upgrades which would change the multiplication factor of those settings (eg. damper strength would get multiplied with upgrades, was dependent on ride height, which also changed with upgrades, and the total efficacy was dependent on the suspension layout of the car anyhow).

So. Pretty much, when you see something like camber - Shift 1's Acura NSX will read

Code:
CamberRange=(-4.0, 0.1, 66)
CamberSetting=20

and tell you the default tune of -4.0 + 20 units of 0.1 = -2 degrees camber.

in Shift 2 the Acura NSX will read

Code:
CamberRange=(-4.0, 0.1, 66)
CamberSetting=20

and tell you explicitly that camber is at setting 20 out of a total range from 0-66. But it's still the same thing in both games.

Once you go between cars, and get to something that is highly dependent on the car layout, or tyre type, then it can get slightly more complicated. So for example, our NSX can go from -4.0 to +2.6 degrees camber on the front if we want to get silly. But that range isn't the same for all cars - so we can't assume that setting 20 is the same on front and rear or is the same range on different cars.

So when we go to tune the 427 cobra, the range is

Code:
CamberRange=(-2.5, 0.1, 21)
CamberSetting=10
CamberRange=(-2.5, 0.1, 21)
CamberSetting=10
CamberRange=(-2.0, 0.1, 21)
CamberSetting=10
CamberRange=(-2.0, 0.1, 21)
CamberSetting=10

So our range here starts at -2.5 on front, -2.0 rear, with a default setting of -1.5 / -1.0.

Simiarly, if we take tyre pressure - internally, in the data, these are set by a kPA range.

Code:
PressureRange=(180.0, 1.0, 106)
PressureSetting=40

(again this reads minimum possible setting, unit of adjustment, range of adjustment from minimum, then default setting from the minimum)

but per car, the "zero" setting point ranges from 120 to 200 kPA.

Additionally, the compounds will react differently - everything from how efficiently they transfer heat between the tyre and ground surface/air (legends dlc cars tend to be slightly less efficient at this) to how effective pressure is at keeping the contact patch flat against the ground (highly variable) - plus slightly different reactions based simply on the physical tyre size itself.

So, TLDR version - tuning is really car dependent and you are best off treating them individually. Cars in radically different classes from each other (eg. Shelby 427 vs DB9) are not showing you the same ranges of data, in some cases one car's maximum setting value will be the same as another car's bare minimum.

I think it makes sense. Not every car is equal BUT it would be easier for ME, having different "context" ranges (car/upgrade dependent) shown in the tuning menu instead of the same sliders for every car.

I for one thought that 1 was 1 for all the cars and apparently its not. Don't misunderstand me; its good thing actually but not intuitive for the players

I don't know how easy/hard would be for programmers though...

Hey Terronium,

Like your tunes very much.
Perhaps you can do me a favor en tune one of the Bmw's I like to drive,

Bmw M3 E92 ,Bmw M6 or the Bmw Z4 sDrive 35is.

Thanks a lot,

Massy72

One other thing that is perhaps not entirely obvious that shows in data but not in game, to do with drift events. Apart from the automatic car setup changes (changed torque curve etc) there is one other thing which shows up for a bunch of cars - the line

DriftDiffSpool=1

which presumably converts the car to use a spool differential (eg. welded) in cars regardless of the current configuration in drift events. But it's not active (either 0 or commented out) for a bunch of cars. Anyhow - here's everything with it set, if it helps anyone :)

entirely possible that speedhunters/legends cars have changed since this is from the stock game rather than the dlcs.

OMG! You have to get a drag tune for a Supra with the LFA V10 in it with NOS. I have her spinning the tyres in 6th at 200MPH!!!! :lol: :lol:

Legends DLC Car Tunes Request

T12, now that Legends DLC is FINALLY available on PS3, any Legends Car tunes you can provide would be most appreciated.

FYI: Because of your tunes I have been able to win all the events for D, C, B, Muscle, Retro, and Time Attack!

Speedhunters Cars Tuning Questions

T12, quite a few of the Speedhunters DLC cars seem to be works converted versions like the Pagani Huayra, If so, I am assuming I could just apply the Works version tunes you provided for the same cars (for non-drag/mile events).

Please advise.
