Which got me thinking... What is GT5 to the people here?

Complete the statement above... It could be funny, satirical, serious... Whatever you think GT5 is....

Too me, it's a game.

Games are just games no matter how hard they stress to be realistic.

For me it's a way to relax after a hard day at work or on a day off but is it really necessary to have a thread about what GT is? This thread could end up completely off topic very soon.

Having grow up with flight simulators (got my first in 1982 or 1983), i've come to define the difference in my mind, between a game and a sim, to to be largely based on a sense of accuracy and realism as it relates to the activity being replicated. Unfortunately, with complex or difficult activities, has programs approach "simulation", they generally lose accessability, in parallel with an increased learning curve, and in turn are more attractive to a smaller market than pure games tend to be. Because of that, most developers interested in attempting to sell "sims" in the wider "gamer" market tend to attempt a balance between "game" and "sim". I find GT to be an excellent example of this market strategy.
However, that said, to me it's about 60% game, and 40% sim. It would have to be the other way round for me to ever call it anything more than a game.
So, for me, i'd have to say: GT5: It's not just a Driving Game... it's a really good driving game with a really good marketing strategy.
