Not just a driving game... it's the reason why i came interest in cars and my profession its now on them thanks to GT. Its my Obsession, my world a life time experience.

It's probably the best driving game ever made, while being one of the worst racing games ever made.

My evidence:

Good driving
-Lots of cars to choose from
-Fairly realistic looking scenery and tracks
-Good variety of makes and models
-Very easy to learn how to drive fast in the game

Bad racing
-AI is garbage even with the update
-12 to 16 car fields are pretty lame
-The cars all have similar generic handling models based simply on weight and engine placement in the car
-Online sucks
 
It's not always a simulator

But when it is, you pay 500'000 to repair a dent.

It most certainly is not, no practise (whilst in an event), no qualifying, single file rolling start dead last, Ai still on the crap side.

100% agree, take a premium car there and it's driving heaven! Shame not all of the game hits those heights

Yeah, really, that is the thing that I´m mostly doing in GT5. Even though the game has many bad things in it, this is an incredible experience to race on the NS with an 500hp cap (even with an 100hp car it is fantastic)... You can really feel the fear before each corner and if you pass it, you re happy you did it... till the next corner... It gives you a little hint of what real racing drivers must feel, racing on the green hell...

I dont get this feeling on any other track...

gt5 is a car collecting game, its a waiting game but its a GRAN TURISMO GAME!
