Radio just announced

"And here's a lovely track from George Michael......."

My heart sunk.........

......it was Careless Whisper. Phheeewww

Curse you Jamie Theakston

You coulda turned off the radio before it started playing, and isn't it sattelite radio? You can mute it while seeing what the song's playing...

Bad luck, Sar :(
(You sure it was George singing? If it sounds like a chick, it's not the original 👍)

I was on the PS3 and my PC was playing the radio. They run through the same projector meaning to mute it/ turn it off would require getting the control and turning from HDMI to VDA and then swapping PS control pad for the mouse. By then it would have been too late.

Yes, it was the right version, I checked with the video on first post right after I heared it on the radio.

Daniel, I see my name twice on the participants list, do I have two lifes?:dunce::lol:

Had a close call today at school, my Geography teacher decided to put the radio on as it was Friday and they were playing Christmas songs. I got lucky somehow, they didn't play it.

I'm lucky that I don't need to go into any stores again until next year. And if I do I told my parents that I refuse to go in without earmuffs. Haha, and they think it's so I don't have to listen my mum raging. Mwahahaaa!

I'm in.

It's gonna be fun on the school bus though. My bus driver listens to some '80s thing, so I'm at risk. And I'll look weird if I do this:

Tempted fate again yesterday shopping with my wife at 4 different stores for ~3 hours and only heard a handful of Christmas songs, none of which whammed me.

TB living life on the edge.

I haven't heard any Christmas songs on the radio yet, but that got me thinking. What if the first one I hear IS Last Christmas? :scared:
I will be unprepared and vulnerable.

Barely heard any Christmas songs yet... Things start getting tough in about a week I reckon.

I haven't got a chance we've got a radio in the office and I'd just look mental if I kept changing it all the time every time Wham were mentioned.

Good luck everyone else!

I've been lucky enough not to hear it after 2 trips out this week.

I wasn't even thinking about getting whammed when I was shopping yesterday until I walked past Boots. It's one of the only shops that are playing christmas songs right now, plus I have yet to hear any christmas songs on the radio. That will surely change in the next week though.

Went to a Christmas Bazaar last night. Familiar chord strains start up as I get out of the car. I was thinking: "Oh, sh-" and then a woman started singing.

*whew*

My favorite radio station plays 80's music every Friday. Luckily, they aren't doing Christmas music yet. I still listen for several hours every Friday, on my way to the mall.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us before you die, Mr. Bond?

:( Never tell a sibling about this. Ever. Under any circumstances. I should've know something was up when he put it on a CD... lost in my own home. The shame.

You were told that friends/relatives enjoy to see you suffer a fate worse than death
That is, getting Whammed!

I got Whammed yesterday outside a shop, bloody Currys got me with their carpark facing speakers! :grumpy: Also I had to explain to my 3 year old what 'crap' meant and that it's very naughty to say it :guilty:

The more I see this thread the more I want to laugh.

The best way to win is by being anti-social.
I am so I don't tell anyone that I am in this contest, I don't listen to the radio, too busy at work to pay attention to what is playing and I am mainly on the phone or listening to it ring so I can't even hear the music they play at work.
I watch all my TV shows and anime so I avoid sites like youtube unless their subscriptions and I know my subs won't play it so I am more than covered.

Wow, you have plenty of self control there then. I do the school run in the morning and after 13-odd years of commuting in London I have a very low and habitual intolerance of bad driving, which sometimes comes out, shall we say, verbally. I have to tell my daughter that 'What the 🤬 was that you dozy 🤬!' is very wrong and you should never tell mum I said it. It's a bad habit I really should drop. :guilty:

As to the challenge - nothing to report yet, but I think the TV is going to be my downfall sooner or later. Must avoid Top of the Pops 2... ;)

I'm usually quite good but have failed in the car a few times although by that point I'm incoherent with rage so he can't make out what I'm saying ;) If his mum hadn't been in earshot I would have made it very clear mummy doesn't need to know.
