They're not called 'seasonal' for nothing...

D00msday, please explain the remnant of the older Seasonal Events in the guise of the Super GT Seasonal Event, which has been around since June/July. To which season does it belong?

Other events have come along since Super GT, such as the German Touring Car Championship (August), yet it is gone and Super GT remains; feels so much like a GT5 Twilight Zone. I have not yet discovered the pattern, which makes me wonder if it was simply something completely arbitrary.

"PD Logic" baffles the mind.

That still doesn't mean anything.

:lol::lol::lol: Agreed.

I will say that I do like actually getting gifts for completing a set of Seasonal Events.

I was surprised too that they removed a lot of these events, first thought there was something wrong with my game not loading them.
But to be honest, they were only there for quick money and goodies anyway and it became a bit cluttered, maybe they will be replaced with other more interesting events.
But it's one more example of PD's ever changing strategy, at first these Seasonal Events were temporary, then they became 'permanent' for a while, basically adding A-Spec events and now they've suddenly without notice changed it again which is confusing.
I reckon it must be for some technical (or economic) reason they've discontinued these events as there may be a limit to how much they can run online perhaps.

I am glad I did them all. Having said that I am sure PD will sort something out. They seem to put more work into the newer seasonals.

More events and variety are pretty important so lets see. Yamauchi himself has mentioned he would have preffered more events in the game.

I was staying quiet until I actually got home to play tonight. I'm kind of shocked that they cleaned house.

BUT: They are called seasonal for a reason.

I will badly miss the Supercar and F1 seasonals (I used the Supercar one quite a bit for tuning and testing, and enjoyed both a lot, as the track sets were excellent, among other reasons).

I think the Expert Challenges should be missed as well (as a useful and memorable crucible for new drivers/accounts). Perhaps chalk that up to nostalgia on my part, but then I also wish we still had the original GT-R on SSR5 seasonal...

I can only hope that ones serving broad or important category sets will be replaced (such as the DTMs, for example, or the Historic Race cars, which I didn't play with enough :grumpy:, as well as the F1s).

I think it likely that updates to the AI code (some were semi-scripted, I believe?) or event format (server and client side, or the change to the reward structure) have caused them to do so; needing to do detailed QA or partial rewrites on all of them would pretty much have determined their fate.

I'm still sad to see them go.
