one of the sponsors on the 2011 Home Depot car is blurred out? on the front quarter panel, i thought i was seeing things but it looks like maybe it was there and then covered over or removed by PD...

I dont see a blurred sponsor, look at the pic:

Quarter panels are at the rear sides of a NASCAR race car. Fenders are at the front of a NASCAR race car.

Maybe NASCAR has their own terminology, but there are four quarter panels on a car. I've heard race announcers refer to them as front and rear fenders as well as front and rear quarter panels. Then again, I've often heard commentators talk about the "front nose" and the "rear tail" of a car, so who knows what to make of what they say?

EDIT: ^^^ Everybody knows blurring or bleeping things or talking about them in a "safe" way will prevent children from fixating on them. Havent you noticed that no one ever uses swear words any more, and that teens no longer have any interest in cigarettes, alcohol or sex? Censorship makes the world a better place. Perhaps they should start censoring unpopular political and economical ideas too.

That's the 2010 car.

I believe what is being referred to is the Coor's Light Pole Award sticker. Being an alcohol sponsor, it has to be blurred.

I would tend to believe that is the Maximum Resolution Limit of the textures / car decals that PD has created for this car. Too high-res and it will waste PS3 graphics memory, because :

Who pays attention to a tiny little beer sticker when going 200mph doing left hand turns anyway ? :D

GTPorsche
Because they aren't allowed to appear in games.

Well, not a game with the age of GT5, a game like GTA on the other hand advertises fake "pisswasser" on the radio's.

A Budweiser sticker is located just below the Edelbrock sticker and beside the Sonoco sticker on the lower front of the car for 2010. The 2011 car might have the Coors sticker in the same location

Depending on where you live, GT5 either has a PEGI 3 or E for Everyone sticker on it. Because it's legal for children to buy this game, all advertisments for alcohol, drugs or anything else considered not safe for children has to be censored or removed.
