Hey guys, again, sorry to get disconnected and ruin the race. My router just decided to take a break and it wouldn't let me connect until now.

Anyway good race guys even at a track I dont like much in other categories (Super GT ect). It was a relatively comfortable race for me I just cranked up the pace in the first 6-7 laps to shake off Lancer ran 1:45.7 to 1:45.9 in those laps. After hed made his mistakes I just drove within myself doing consistant 46s until my last two laps of that stint (Lap 15 and 16 where I did low 1:47s). Pitted for new rubber came out with a 19 second gap back to Lancer decided to run some hot laps did a 1:45.6 in my 1st hot lap then my 2nd I was slightly blocked by Superkid (Dunno what was going on he pulled to the inside then when I went to pull out he started swerving left and right) so I backed off a little and went to the inside, but no harm done so all is cool ;). After that it was just a cruise to the line passing some lapped cars and doing nice 1:45s or low 1:46s. (My last 1:45 was lap 26 I think :D)

So was a solid race for me but a bit more competition would be nice :sly:.

Hope I connect every week as im in love with this car :D (Although passing lapped cars here will be :scared: everytime.)

Also never got the replay to see everyone elses races and take some pics :(.

He pulled the e-brake on me, had to take evasive maneuvers.
 
I was just wondering, did I line up in the grid correctly? I was pretty certain I qualified sixth, yet penguin said he was sixth and I wound up fifth at the start. Was I thrown off by the people who got disconnected?

Sometimes, after a race, your position is one higher than what you actually finished in. So I might've looked at it too soon. I started 7th in the race.

Wish I had been able to stick around. I could've saved a replay and posted pics of my wreck on the 2nd lap. I had dinner plans and decided it wasn't worth being late just to finish the race a lap down... Better luck next week, I guess. Speaking of which, what is the next race?
 
Its Daytona Road 👍. I put down 3 flying laps just now ranging from a 2:12.1 to 2:11.9, hope that serves as a good benchmark for you guys. One thing ill say is its very taily into T1 so be carefull :lol:.

Edit: Went out for another 4 lap run and got it down to a 2:11.494 :D.

Welcome to the fourth race of the series! This is my answer to anyone who wants to race on an oval track. ;) This is a high speed semi-oval with lots and lots of corners that you don't normally see when watching NASCAR on TV.

Paulmac2k9 seems to have set an unbeatable benchmark of 2:11 seconds. Ready to take on last week's winner?

-Qualifying race will start at 4:45 PM PST (named "quali race" in-game due to stupid chat filter).​

Is that me in the second photo? I tend to favor that inside line in that corner of Laguna Seca.
 
Oh my 🤬.

That first corner is a nightmare! If you screw up there, you're bound to hit the wall, and that'll be the end of the race for you.

@Schadenfreude13: I believe it is you, though I'm not too sure.

The first corner is scary. Especially in Formula or LMP cars. They literally just threw up a wall to block the oval. In real life there's an escape road there. PD didn't see fit to include that in the game.
 
Yeah I suggest everyone when drafting up the oval to not late brake into T1 as it will end in disaster even I have trouble keeping it straight there, it allways goes sideways under brakes :lol:.

So any times up by you guys I rekon I can hit 10s if I get a perfect lap in :).

Also we should enforce using the entire pit exit for saftey reasons.
 
I did some laps yesterday. In 8 or 9 laps I only got 3 valid laps because of that first corner.
Fastest was a 1:13.1 or something like that, but it was a lap with many mistakes.
 
"Valid"? Your not practicing offline are you? As offline physics are completely different to online physics, I allways practice in my lounge ;).

Found out I cant race now because my older brothers coming to visit and hes not prepared to stay up past 2am. (Fold out bed restricts my access to ps3 so I cant use wheel... I could try using the DS3 but I cant stand using it and ill no doubt be much slower....)

Valid as in not going sideways, crashing or completely stopping in the first corner.
But they weren't red as I practice in my lounge too, not faster either ...
And yes, it's a 2:13.1, not 1:13.1 like I said.

I'll add you to my psn friends list if that's ok. I can then join your lounge and you can show me how to do a 2:10.
 
Only low 11s but as it stands I wot be able to race or will have to use DS3..
 
Penguin, I'll be out of city in the morning, i got to buy some things, so I'll be able to get just in time to race, but there is a chance that I won't be able to do that. Just to let you know man.
 
I got a 2'14. Braking into that first corner this thing feels like a FFR: Front engine, Front wheel drive, Rear steer. I think I am going to play it safe at that corner and try to make up time elsewhere. I will try to be on at around 15:30 PST if anyone want to join me in my lounge for practice. It would be nice to try to figure out where to brake for that first corner when drafting someone.
 
I've been practicing and can only manage to get a 1:15 as my fastest lap, but I was consistintly running it, I agree with everyone that the first turn could ruin your race. See you all out on the track
 
Skipping the race tonight, probably won't make the rest of the season. Got too much family stuff to do. Sorry guys.
 
I'm opening the Lounge earlier (i.e. now), so those who have been struggling to get connected in the past can have some time to get connected.
 
Race 3 Summary

As always, great racing everyone! What made this one more memorable than
the others is the unforgiving 1st turn. :lol: Happily for me, I didn't get damaged from screwing up the first turn. Instead, I messed up that chicane part that looks like a handle.

I noticed A LOT of position changing between cbcvabch and LancerEvo7. In the end, Lancer managed to just inch ahead, and won by a tenth of a second, so congrats to Lancer! :cheers:

Next race is at Monza! See you there!

No it's not mine, but I love Alfas and the Gtv is my dream car. I just started driving, so i'm trying to save up for one, someday
