So I got throught the night with the gran torismo car luckily with the driving line on, it was still really hard at 1st, but its an amazing way to learn the track.

My quesiton is it started to pour our at like 12:30hrs and its not 16:50 and its still 100%, and its really annoying with all the power, I have managed to keep my lead of 14 laps on the R8, but its just really mind numing, does anyone have any experience when the rain will stop, so I dont have to consentrate so dam hard, even the straights you have to really watch your acceleration on them.

Thanks

Im 8 hours in and it's been 100% then entire time, the rain, if it does stop, it will stop at a random time, and after that, you won't know when the track will be completely dry.

When i done mine,it was pouring down and 100%,then when i suspended the race and came back next day it was unny with 0% wet track...

Ya I thought of that so I didnt play for a few days but that didnt work.

It should dry up around dawn buddy and get easier there on in. The AI is slower in the wet so make hay while the time is good as you will be pushed harder in the run in. 14 laps lead is good tho. Its in the bag by the looks of.

If you have transmission set to manual just use 5th, 6th and 7th gears short shifting and use plenty of traction control. Real super cars need traction control to make them drivable in real life so do not take any notice of GT5 drivers who will sneer at the mention of using TC

Why do you have to compare to real life honestly, especialy since your comparaison isnt right.

If people use TC, then so be it, you're free to play your game the way you want. You bought it. But dont try to justify or excuse yourself it only makes you look bad.

I've raced before at the same event, and it stopped raining at ~the last 1/2 hour of the race.
So I guess this is what happens...
If you start out dry, the race will be wet once you suspended it, and it will last for most of the time of the race.
If you start out 100% wet, the race will be dry for most of the time of the race.
(I don't know, but this doesn't sound reasonable... so I could be wrong :p)

It's completely random I'm afraid (although maybe there are a few programmed scenarios), I did the Le Mans 24h race a few weeks ago and it started dry and remained dry into the first hours of the night when I did my first save.
The next day the track was still dry but after a few hours it started to rain which didn't stop until well into the morning and the track was a 100% wet most of the time.
After that the track dried up slowly and remained dry the entire day, I saved about 4 times and it didn't seem to affect the weather circumstances at all.
Unlike the 24h Nurburgring race I did a week before where the weather did seem to change after saving (and didn't exceed 50%), not sure there's a difference or glitch (apart from the tyre issue discussed in the GT5 section), or that it just coincidentally happened that way.

I don´t think the weather changes with saves on 24H Nurburgring, because I'm at 16Hours now and saved 3times and it was Dry start and 1st Save at 6 and a half hours, restart and still dry, then started raining at 07:45 and save at 12:xx, than restart and still wet(100%), so I'm now at the 3rd save at 16:30 I think, not on PS3 right now, so for all of this I don´t think that the save feature has anything to do with weather.

RX-7_FD3S has just given an example of what I was talking about. I was not trying to make an excuse for myself just offering advice to someone. Using traction control can prolong tyre life and make a powerful car in difficult conditions easier to drive. Check out you tube and see super car drivers nailing the throttle at low speed and hitting the nearest lamp post!

Actually I built my 15 lap lead in the dry, in the rain I have only managed 3 out of those 15, even with the TC at 10 in the Gran Torismo car it still cant even go to full throttle till arount 125mph, you have to really feather it until then thats why the rain is so annoyinig, plus I really dont have a weather setup with softer suspension so that is probably part of the problem, but Im managing fine just annoying you cant just sit back and listen to your music and race you really have to pay super attention to every corner which is like real racing but oh well. Also I have it in Auto Trans cause I didnt want to have to shift a billion times, that was a mistake.

sorry you are wrong it's about 200billion times you need to shift and im doing the same race in a X1 but the two prototypes are better in the rain.

good luck man!!!!!! really im not kidding cause its been raining for 7 straight hours and even when it stops the track will be wet for awhile. It strarted luckily for me right when it got light out around 12 and im just over 19 hours and its been pouring the whole time, I hope you dont go through the whole thing and lose, that would suck!!!

uh-huh im 57 laps ahead and im only 5hours into the race 👍

:dopey:@prix what is your fastest lap time? Mine is 2:12.169

Holy ****, mines only a 3:04 I think, and that was in the dark with no headlights, I really didnt know the track super well, but dam thats fast, what is the X1 anyways, Im sure I have it I have almost every car in the game. Plus I really dont use setups (which I know is stupid) Im race motor cycles and not cars, and even then I use techs to setup my preload, ect....

X2010, its not a car, its a UFO.... :yuck:

Ya I thought of it right after I got offline, that was the car. Did you put max downforce on it, and there still faster in the rain or is it that you just spin up to quick. Oh and if I was 57 laps ahead and the P1's average about 4:05 a lap in the rain even I would let the game run and just park for awhile if you got bored even if its 20 min you only lose 5 laps, hahaha

Oh I have 3 of them won 2 and I guess everyone got one for new years my bro said or maybe it was my birthday cause its around that time. I want the black one though I have 3 of the normal redbull ones

two things that is the S.VETTEL X1 2010 and I use the 2011 (i have both

The X2010 was nicknamed to X1 like right after release.
And if you using the X2011, so be it, that's your choice... :)

I will still call the X2011 (with/without Prototype) X1. ^^

It's still a UFO. :yuck:
