Do you mean like this?

if yes, that's what I'm also curious about.. is it realisticly like that ABS off in real life?
I never brake hard from 200kph to 100kph! so I'm really curious about that and want opinion from a real life racing driver.

Hi Dodzzz, have you able to brake better with ABS off ? It seems that you still have trouble with post braking stability. Try to have more front bias with FR cars, with MR or FF I could have 7/5 or 8/6, but FR usually 7/4 or 8/5, I have high number due to my DS2 controller sensitivity.

If you brake hard from high speed, and not shifting down, you still need to be smooth with the brake release and most importantly steering input. Any slight steering jerk during braking could upset the car balance, this might be the issue you are having, you need to have smooth gradual transition from braking, releasing brake, hitting the apex, and accelerate out of corner.

By the way I have updated my no ABS 458 video, please note the 1st lap chicanes, 2nd lap 1st chicane and last long sweeping curve ( see it till the end ). Release the brake by gradually easing the pressure, then start to turn smoothly, never apply sudden brake pressure when entering a corner. Like what Mike says, progressive braking is the key.

Video quality is a bit higher now - 480p - 30fps, I record it with better camera phone :)

458 stock, CM, ABS off, 0-10% water, 2:07.xxx

I Hope this clearer smoother video could better help to give you the idea of throttle and brake modulation .

EDIT : I have a public room open for practice without ABS and comfort medium tire restriction

Feel free to join in, room will be open for at least 2 hours

Thanks for the updated video man! yeah I can brake better with ABS off now, but I have to set the brake bias to somewhere around 2/0 to 3/1 to minimize the post braking oversteer issue.
But it also depends on what car and what tire I'm using though, some are easy, some are notorious, and the less grip the tire, the less oversteer reaction.
Sorry I was off today so I didn't know about the room :guilty:

And I hope that oversteer reaction wasn't necessarily there and PD would fix that in the future!

@Dodzzz
The oversteer reaction do occur, but in most cases they appear when I do a very late braking and I tried to hit the apex at the same time. I will open another room, send me FR, so we can do free run session, you can follow me from behind while I do some hard braking with various drivetrain, tires, street and race car :) One of the best track to learn is at Monza

Room open for practice, no ABS, Comfort medium

This, bad braking technique.

This, bad braking technique.

What i said was not related to any ABS1 vs ABS off ''war'' im not saying one is better than the other, i dont care much to be honest :), just stating what id like to see tweaked for an even better experience.

i can fix that oversteer by applying throttle in same time and the car will be stable, or i just take corners slower like stated, but i can push my car almost the same way using the brakes and the car will not react like that, thats where to me ABS1 felt closer to reality, and my car tend to oversteer off throttle naturaly when pushing the limit, but not brutaly and not when i releases the brakes.

i just wished that was fixed to make it even more fun, realistic. :)

I simply pushed too hard, and the brakes were close to edge of lock ups, you can see what I mean if you watch the whole video I posted in reply to Dodzzz, watch the 1st chicane and last turn at 1st lap.

I braked too hard on the 1st chicane ( Variante del Rettifilo ),but I let go the brakes in time to prevent oversteer too much. The s turn ( Variante Ascari ) lap 1 braking - just after the bridge, was also worth noted that I brake hard enough to slightly upset the car balance, this happened in a straight line. The last turn ( Curva Parabolica) at lap 1, I braked too late while trying to get to the inside, the car oversteered and I had to counter steer and stabilize the car with throttle play.

No doubt even with ABS brake assist enabled, those occurences that I have on the video when hard braking could also happen, although maybe not as pronounced as without ABS.

They really need to rename the ABS in this game to Assisted Braking Stability function instead lolol

I'm finding that I have to leave the brake bias further forward than I was before the recent updates. There's a lot more oversteer now, that's also present with ABS.

I had a fun online race at London recently, I was given an Evo VIII in the shuffle, and having a slightly "rearward-feeling" bias (4/2) was a massive advantage in the 90° turns towards the end of the lap, but a liability into the first corner; there, 4/1 was better, but that gave understeer in the 90° corners.
I wasn't quite up to the task of continually adjusting the bias on the fly, so I just dealt with the early braking into the first corner and made up for it elsewhere. The marginally tailward entry into those low-speed corners was a perfect match for the car's natural balance, and was easily gathered at the apex with careful use of the throttle. :dopey:

Race, drift and cruise to no ABS... I am faster without it... I still see people using ABS on 10 and i am sitting there thinking it's got to be the bath salts
