They are and even more rarely are they the actual 427.

Edit: Sad news, I keep getting disconnected from my neighbors usually reliable web connection. I must apologize. Due to this unforeseen problem I will be disconnecting from the web and gonna instead finish my two tribute cars to Mr. Shelby. I feel bad that my idea didn't come to fruition for me. If anyone else has a net connection and is willing to run the lobby I cordially invite you to as Mr.Shelby has many supporters and will be missed. May all our prayers be with his family.

I'm going to buy a stock Shelby 66 and try to find a room like this or maybe start one.

I was about 10 years old and a family member worked at a car auction that did a classic collectors car auction every year. There was a beautiful black lacquer 65 427 Shelby Cobra ORIGINAL that went through and eventually sold for $250,000 now 21 years ago. I will never forget how beautiful that car was or how rumpity thumpity that 427 sounded and felt in the stomach.

R.I.P. Carrol Shelby.

I know how you felt. one of my fondest memories was tailing a cobra(I know now that it was most likely a replica) down hwy162 in my area thinking "man i want one of the when i get my license. I want to actually build a replica with a REAL 427 cobrajet.

I had a pleasure of seeing three Cobras in my life living in Vegas. A Guardsman Blue and white stripes at Mt. Charleston, a beautiful white and blue stripe Cobra at a car show and a Cherry Red driving down the roads near my house. I had the biggest grin on my face when I saw these iconic machines in the metal.

Me touching the sleek design of the white Cobra and following it until it stops. Will always be in my memory.

R.I.P. Carrol Shelby

Gentlemen and Women, I have some bittersweet news. I have released the wateringhole tunes tribute to Carroll Shelby. I only wish it could have been done for the memorial cruise and I could have joined. GT350r to follow soon.

we will just have to do another room this weekend. I hosted a few rooms that were called "R.I.P. Shelby Spec" and I set the room to where you could only pick the 66 cobra with no driving aids. I had it running for a few hours on Saturday. Never saved any replays but it was some fun racing. Would be nice to get about 10 or 12 other clean drivers for a cobra spec race this weekend. The stock Cobra is really well suited for Laguna Seca, and SPA. It just reaches the revlimiter at the start of the braking zone on the long spa strait, almost perfect.

^ sounds good i would leave it open as far as cars go bc if i can I want to bring out what one of Carroll Shelby's designs evolved in to. I'd also like to find someone to show up in a Cobra Super Snake.

I would like to do this again this year to mark the One year aniversary. I know we have a while before the anniversary comes around but I'd like to have it a little better planned out this year.

Count me in. I missed this thread last year but I would really like to fire up GT5 again for this.

I don't want to miss out on it this year
Count me in just need details when they come available
R.I.P Mr.Shelby
You will always be missed:(
Edit: Is the ford GT40 race car "69 OK?

Anything with Carrol Shelby's hands on it. Cobras, Mustangs, Vipers, GT's, GT40's and Ferrari's as well. I'd like to have a few of the racers from 67 there. 427 Cobra, Stingray Z06 67, P4 Ferrari, and GT40.

12th of May? What time? I'd love to be there, but I don't think I can make it, unless it's in the evening (Europe time).

Edit: Made a poster that you can use for the event if you want to. Posted it below.

Ok, Here are the details Of what I know now.

It will be at La Sarthe 2009 (no Chicane). I'm looking at doing it around 9pm Central (Mexico City) time.

Approved cars(Cars either involved in the Shelby Racing era or Cars Carrol Shelby had a hand in)

Anything Mustang based
Anything Viper Based
Anything Shelby(Capt. Obvious)
Corvette Z06 67(?) Race car
Corvette C2 63'
Ferrari P4 Racecar
Ford GT's (GT40 included)
Jag XJ13 Racecar
A/C 427 SC.
Unruly Cruisers will be kicked.
Racing is welcome and encouraged. Slow drivers will need to stay out of the racing line. If scheduling works out and thing go right I would like to organize a 3 wide by however many deep cruise down the back stretch to Mullsanne. I will do this by starting a race so I can get the replay and take pics to post here. Anyone wanting to help moderate the Lobby PM me.

edit: In light of recent news and events Hybrids will be barred from the cruise to protect those of us that do not have them and/or are not using them.

Questions? PM me.

Love it man looks B.A.

I'll be there without a doubt... Hopefully :p

Your welcome to come. I might need someone to open a second room if the first becomes crowded. Too bad we cant get PD to loan us a server with like a 100 guest limit on a lobby for this. lol That would make life real easy. I would also like someone with a mic to help me keep people under control and help coordinate everything bc typing is just plain difficult.

I kinda did one myself last year (made a video of it too). Will definitely join in this with the Cobra.

I missed it last year, I'll try to be there this time.
