INDY Car Classes

What runs what. This thread is design for both new and old, a generalization of what are more likely to get an even runs out at Indy, some cars are quicker at SROUTE X but tied by a slower car out at Indy due to being shorter.

Nice job on this thread bro!!!

I like it! Don’t know why people always race the same cars. It’s fun to race different types of rides.

you're spot on right, it runs 9.08x but problem is, it wont run well against SPEV V 09...hence i put them in 9.1 class look at ZR1 an Z06 they got better time than R34 at sroute x but in indy they compete with good tune r34 just to clear that up ......this is indy where track just little shorter youll be surprised :)

ZZ2s runs 8.99x. Gallardos runs 9.2 and the speed 12.Audi RS6 Avant (Premium)
And Audi Nuvolari runs mid 9.1.

ZZ2s runs 8.99x. Gallardos runs 9.2 and the speed 12.

It's not a case of putting them in brackets according to their respective ssrx times.

zz2 should be in the 9.0 class, they don't launch all that well and rely on pull.
On a shorter track it makes sense they are moved back into the 9 second bracket.
Same goes for the speed 12 in the 9.3 bracket. You need a very good tune and a very good tree to take down an average tuned R34.

The Gallardo is a little iffy.
For the average tuner though. 9.3 is respectable.

lol, well I'll be back in a few days.
but for the time being... I'm seeing a lot of the below

it should also be further noted in the OP that the cars in the brackets listed are with just average tunes, many cars listed here are easily capable of running times in the bracket before it with a very good tune, for example in the 9.8 class the Cuda, Challenger RM, Buick Special and the Merc C63 all run well into the 9.7's.

To add more the Ford Lightning is a solid 10.3 truck and the Buick GNX a solid 10.4 car

That is true, but that is just a number. When you run two cars: eg. Zr1 vs R34, you would think the ZR1 would win based on times. That's not the case. That is why some cars are where they are in the OP. Hope this cleared up any confusion :/

Yep, I see the point, Indy's shorter so some cars can't take advantage of their top end pull against a car that launches quicker, more or less a generalization of what cars run well together online.

This thread is designed so new comers can make a informed choice when selecting a car to race the other cars on track, ssrx times really dont come into it as the shadow at Indy is less distance than the ssrx 1/4 mile, take the premium corvettes as a example, it's not hard to get them into the 9.2 range yet they often have good battles with 9.30 r34's,BMW m3 gtr is another example, runs 10.19X yet is still very competitive with cv8 monaro's capable of 10.16X bsl's, they idea behind this thread is to minimize the number of stupidly mismatched cars lining up at indy, I'm sure eveyones experienced being lined up in a couple of 9.9 or 9.8 sec cars only to hear a spec v roll around the corner or running civics/integras and having a srt4 pull up, 0 to 60 0 to 100 and a good tree is what counts at Indy and often ssrx times go out the window, another example: chevelle running a mid 9.8 can get have a good battle against a 9.91 rt challenger due to the awesome 0 to 60 on the rt challenger, yes the chevelle will pull like crazy but they often even out at the shadow, but as I said earlier this thread is more for new comers to make a educated choice before selecting their gtr's to run high 9 sec cars, not all cars that run the same ssrx times match up so nice at Indy. At the end of the day don't we all just want to have a "gfr" more often...

nicely put it bro,..not only about us its the new guys that we need to get some sensed in them choosing or matching cars wisely :)

3 days is a long time to be looking at them, ill be bored after 5 min :P

Lol. Watching the wheat grow is pretty stimulating too....not.
Nevermind, having a few brewski's this afternoon before we pull the old under/over out and make a mess of what ever moves

Home tomorrow, very keen for some runs
