Announcing the October Lineup for S.N.A.I.L. SPEC Racing​

The Drivers List has been updated with Promotions for the month of October.

We're contracting to 4 Divisions this month, primarily due to the fact we're playing a game that's over two years old. Be that as it may, to all the S.N.A.I.L.s that come out to play week after week, Thank You! Just look at all the One Year trophies on our drivers list :D

There's no clear cut formula for getting promoted or relegated. We take into account a number of factors to determine candidates for promotion and relegation. Once we've identified the drivers, we analyze the data at our disposal and make sure the people being moved fit into the Division they're being moved to. Then we pull the trigger :dopey:

Some of the criteria for being ELIGIBLE to be promoted or relegated are:

1. Points for the month
2. How many drivers are in each division.
3. Race pace
4. Individual Lap Times
5. How you compare to other racers in your division and the division you're a candidate for.
6. Number of times you've raced that month.
7. How cleanly you've raced this past month.

Why do we do this?

1. To get you involved in races you will be racing in, not just putting in laps.
2. To incent you to improve your driving and racecraft.
3. To give you something to strive for.
4. To make it possible for you to have fun playing GT5.

We want you to be in good, close, clean racing 👍

N.B. If you were promoted and don't have access to the lounge you're assigned to for the October season, please send a PSN Friend Request to the appropriate SNAIL_DivisionX account. If for some reason your Friend Request is not accepted, let us know by posting on the thread!

Nooooooooooo! I've been promoted! Well, out was fun while it lasted. You d4 guys sure know hire to spend a sunday night! Guess the "d4 s split screen" is out. You guys stay just the way you are, probably the funnest/funniest division in the league.

D3, I'm back! Be sure to dress for the occasion, as you will be the subjects of my PVR. I look forward to racing with you all again.

Thanks dabney! I've heard the author of the original images has fled to parts unknown, so was worried no one would be able to match the text fonts and all.

I've already got the font and I've removed the original text. I'm working on getting the bevel and emboss done so it looks the same. Give me a few more minutes...

We would love to have you in the league. I see from your profile that you're in SA. You would be racing Monday 330am. If that is okay then......
Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You take the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and Racecraft Test
2. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires selected for this have more grip than our current tire regulations allow, but please follow the directions exactly anyways).
3. You PM kcheeb with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
4. We assign you to the division that we feel will give you the closest competition. kcheeb will add you to the drivers list.
5. We send you a you a PSN friend request from the corresponding SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3 or 4 account. That PSN account's lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.
6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

There's no rush man. The Steward Summary deadline this week is Saturday. If I get a couplethree more stewards to hit the IRs this week, it'll get done sooner.

After that, can you do the same, but make it say "Video Channel".
DW: it doesnt so much at all my wireless only runs up to 25mbs. Wired 50ish. So I have 25mbs available for the ps3
 
Well, it was bound to happen! I just didn't believe it would be this fast! I've been in S.N.A.I.L. since June and started in D4 now since August I have been promoted all the through D3 to D2! It will be a challenge because I know how fast some of you are and I am really going to have to fight for EVERY position! I would just like to say I'm am hesitant but looking forward to this Sunday!

OK. I just noticed some strange glitchiness when DA was in the kart series tuesday and it seemed to clear up when he bailed. Not sure if he was recording, streaming or anything extraordinary that night. May have just been the usual PSN/GT5 network craziness.

It was fun and always had some close racing! Just wish it could have lasted a bit longer! all I know is if I get promoted to D1, I am really going to start questioning how good I am! Considering all I use is a controller!

I believe he was streaming. Not sure if I will stream yet, or just record while racing yet. But I run my ps3 wired on sundays, so I should have plenty of bandwidth open. Also, I have hosted and streamed I believe my first our second night in d4 and we had no connection issue. That said, if I do stream, I will watch for lag issues. If it happens that there are issues, I'll drop the feed.

Don't get too intimidated by the racers of D2, they are all very clean, and have an incredible amount of respect for each other. Good luck and hope to see you in D1 soon ;)

Well there goes that idea. :( Oh well, good luck Rally in D3 again. :) The bright side is that I get to temporarily be in D4 so that has to count for something, right? :D

On confirmation of the combining of the two divisions, we need to sort out race night duties. We can just run D4 as we have been and keep everyone where they are if that is what everyone prefers or we can divide the jobs amongst all of us.
