Aston Martin has released the first image of its newest flagship – the limited edition One-77. Details are scarce, but the One-77 will be powered by a hand-built 7.0-liter V12 nestled inside an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis. 0-60 times are estimated at 3.5-seconds, with a top speed cresting 200 mph.

77 examples of the £1 million coupe will be produced and customers will be able to customize the bespoke supercar to meet their individual tastes. The One-77 will be revealed later this year (Paris?) and will go on sale shortly afterwards.

This will be the first all-new vehicle from Aston Martin produced after the brand was sold by Ford to a group of investors spearheaded by Prodrive's David Richards. We're also curious to know if the One-77 will play a part in Project Alligator, the rumored collaboration between Aston and Mercedes-Benz. All details will be revealed in due time. Until then let your eyes feast on the only image we have of the upcoming One-77 supercar.

Press release and article here.

Where did Aston get the money to make their own Veyron? I'm looking forward to see what these guys have put together. I'm sure it'll be a great car, and coming from Aston Martin, nothing short of beautiful.

I was just reading this on Autoblog. :grumpy:

But I'm just dumbfounded at how much this car would cost. £1 million, holy 🤬! That even tops out the Reventon's base price tag. But I guess it could be something excellently cooled inside the car, something similar with the Reventon. 👍 The hand-built 7.0-liter V12 almost sounds too good to be true, maybe a work of AMG perhaps? Well lets hope there will be more photos of the One-77 soon......

By the way, isn't the name really quite cheeky? One-77? Almost like a Double-o-7 kinda name...... :dopey:

I doubt it'll be AMG. Aston have built many a V12 before, and owners prodrive have little connection with Merc. I'm pretty sure it'l be a 'slightly underpowered for the capacity' Aston V12.

I don't get it, what's it's trick?

0-60 in 3.5 secs and a top speed around 200 aren't worth a million pound today. Unless they get something truly good looking this will be a monumental flop. And I don't see how AM can afford that big a loss.

'the One-77 will be powered by a hand-built 7.0-liter V12 nestled inside an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis' - Then why in the year of 2008 is the estimated 0-60 is only 3.5 secs? That seems a little slow for the above specs, especially with a £1million price tag.

It'll probably be front engined, rear wheel drive. That'll limit the 0-60 time.

Are Aston Martin engines not still hand built anyway? I thought they still had a plague with the name of the guy who built it on it. Venari?

Sounds more like:
AM wants in on the GT-R vs Z06 vs 911 vs NSX vs LF-A spectacle, but don't car about price.:p

if they manage to get it down to ~1500kg, I'll be impressed. And if they manage to make it sound like V12 should sound..

Maybe I missed a point or to. I think it will be an AM engine for sure but maybe tuned by AMG or Prodrive perhaps? Anyways, that is still quite a lot for a car and even the performance doesn't cover as much as that. It just got to be the interior and exterior that would cost a lot. Maybe a full carbon body panel and a lush interior with many gizmos and stuff..... but since this is AM and its British, its gotta have class. 👍

There's no reason on earth the engine would be tuned by AMG. It will be an Aston Martin hand built V12 and if it's tuned by any engineers other than Aston's own it will be Prodirves. There is no connection between Aston and AMG or Prodrive and AMG nor does there need to be. A lot of the price will be for exclusivity and the Aston Martin badge, there's not really enough information yet to work out just why this works out at £1 million though.

From the picture, looks like it took some styling cues from the C6, and it looks great. Too bad the price is unrealistic.

You're kidding me...an Aston-Merc? Why does that seem like it'd go together like Orange Juice and Toothpaste? Or Daimler and Chrysler?

Well, I'm sure that the "lets make a V12 by bolting two Duratec V6s together!" mantra will only work for so long. Particularly when Ford technically aren't your overlords anymore...

I'm excited to see what the car will be, but I question the price as well. With exchange rates, that's a $2.0 Million car here in the US, and I can't fathom why I'd ever want to pay that much for a car... Even if I have a strange love for Aston...

Keep the British V12, have AMG look it over, and maybe hand them one of their fancy 7-speed gearboxes from the SL Black. That'd be just about perfect for the DB9/DBS, but I just don't know about this...

For some reason I really, really don't like this news of a Merc/Aston tie-up.

I'd be fine with this 7.0L being two of the new 3.5L Duratecs bolted together. Maybe even throw some turbos on, heh. I wouldn't worry about prices Brad; you and I both know that usually the exchange rate has little to do with prices compared to across the pond. The Z's what, $27k here? It's very nearly that in pounds!

It still looks too much like the various Ferrari/Corvette/Alfa concept sketches from a while back from this angle. To which currency does it measure a million to in cost?

At least we can trust that the V-12 is well-built, as has already been said.

The currency it's put in the thread title as, £'s. ;)

There are enough oil tycoons in Dubai with enough money to not care about forking out that much money on an Aston that only a couple other people in the world will have.

And 20 people have already paid $1 million for a $300,000 car, and many more have shown interest...

Stumbled this on Autoblog:

From Autoblog:
Aston Martin said it would have a "property" here in Paris, and indeed it did. The Aston Martin One-77 made its "debut," but it looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer to see the British automaker's $1,000,000+ super coupe.

Judging by the limited upskirt shots in our gallery, the length of the One-77 easily surpasses the DB9 and the stylized front end, with blacked-out headlamps, ensures that the One-77 will spend more time in the comfy confines of heated and carpeted garages then out on the track where it's 7.3-liter V12, carbon fiber monocoque and massive brakes will be put to good use.

Looks quite aggressive and mean for an Aston. :D

No shots of the back there. Shame.

There is no AMG tie-up, as far as I am aware.

The buying experience is going to be fantastic for the lucky few.

Topgear Magazine has a whole feature dedicated to this car, I can't say I've read it but might scan some pictures in if they aren't digital renderings.

Doesn't look like a runner to me, at least, that concept. I could be wrong, though.
