Yep, the site's getting about 3 page views per second. :)

I can feel a slight slow down, nothing major but its expected due to the influx of E3 traffic. Just wait until the Sony press conference!

Its good to see the site getting so many page hits Jordan! 👍

A normal day sees about 1 page view per second.

Is there anywhere we can view more indepth GTP statistics other than those at the bottom of the page or those found on bigboards?

I enjoy looking at the various forum statistics. :dunce:

I don't think Jordan will tell too much ;)

And I must ask, what was going on on November 19, 2007? That's an enormous amount more visitors than I've ever seen on the site, including now, and I don't know of any big news or release on that date. Can someone enlighten me?

Probably news on GT5P or GTHD. GT4 was pretty popular though GT3 did better than 4. Especially drifting threads.

You'll probably enjoy looking at our Quantcast stats. They're much more accurate than Alexa (virtually useless, as you can tell).

This thread was featured on the front page of Digg.com - nearly 40,000 people visited the site in 24 hours.

Ah, yes, that thread. That explains it! Thanks for the interesting bit of information. 👍 It's funny how the most visitors ever to visit this site did so because of something unrelated to Gran Turismo, isn't it?

As an aside I'll quickly mention that Douglas not only is worth a bunch of internet hits, but he also has a feature about him and his hobby in the new July issue of Automobile magazine...

These spikes seem to always coninside with a GT release, I remember with the GT4 launch there was a thread receiving like 10 posts a second! It ran into hundreds of pages!

EDIT - We are about to hit 1000 users for the start of the press conference.

Robin.

The forum just died from mega traffic!

You got the love the bandwidth overload, that E3 brings to many forums and sites. Other then that, it is good to see that the forums are back up now. :D

If it's like this now, just imagine what it's going to be like when GT5 is actually released!

Put it this way, when it's actually started to ship from preorders, I'm going on holiday for 4 weeks.

Party at Famine's house!

Wait. Are you taking MC² with you?

Oh, and Indy?

Never mind. It's too much work to plan a party...

:p

I think I may do the same Famine.

As a side note, is there a reason why the search function is disabled currently?

Presumably because it puts a fair amount of load on the servers. Well not a massive amount, but more than page views or submitting replies anyway.

That's putting it lightly - searching our forum database is far and away the most computationally expensive operation our server is asked to do. I'm just doing everything I can to keep the site available and somewhat responsive.

Well its good to know that the site is still up and running even with the additional load you must be getting right now. I was just curious.

Its been a good awhile since the site was this active. Other times, Jordan was upgrading the system.

Wow this is unreal. I think I might disappear for the GT5 release aswell. We will be absolutely swamped.

There's still 1062 online right now, how long does it usually take for the traffic to die back down again?
